I wandered around the northern food stalls and luckily found a seat at "Gyoun"! Perfect timing! It had 8 counter seats and one outdoor seat. Here's what I ordered:
- Master's Dream draft beer (697 yen)
- Lovely Fruit Orange Rock (660 yen)
- Boro Cheese (777 yen) + extra 150 yen
- Pork Kimchi Gyoza (777 yen)
The orange rock had the same amount as a beer, which was nice and got me excited! The Boro Cheese was gyoza with melted cheese on top, crispy on the outside and gooey inside. It was delicious! The pork kimchi gyoza was also bite-sized and went well with the beer.
We also shared Enzyme Brown Rice Fried Rice (780 yen) and Tamagoyaki (560 yen) with others at the table. The tamagoyaki had a salty flavor that brought out the taste of the ingredients. The brown rice fried rice was good for the body and went well as a snack with drinks. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great, and we had a wonderful time. Thank you for the meal! Sitting tightly together and having fun in this space is something I really enjoy!

I entered a lively atmosphere and when I said "two people," there was a time lag before they nodded with a very dignified expression. They made it clear that they didn't really want me to come in! Later, Yome-san said, "I thought Keipon-san would leave without coming in." She could tell even from behind. The attitude of the restaurant was unpleasant, but the wife completely liked it. Is this what you call balance? We were two people in Obihiro, and Yome-san decided on the main place, but I don't think it was at night. The first place seemed to be decided, but the second place was rejected by three places. Some places required only reservations, and some were too crowded to enter. Yome-san's notes ran out. It's a simple note that runs out quickly. Still, I leave it to Yome-san. It's a food stall. In the end, the targeted restaurant was full, and the one Yome-san chose was a dumpling and wine restaurant. When we went in, we received the initial treatment from the young customers. They were noisy, but we had no choice since we entered such a place. The owner seemed to be having a good time talking with the young people. We had red wine and dumplings with cheese. The red wine was from Italy and was quite good for 700 yen. It was simply delicious, and quite elegant. The white wine was on the sweet side, but somehow delicious. As expected of a couple with wine sommelier qualifications. The tofu dish was delicious with a strong bean flavor. The dumplings were crispy and well-cooked with delicious cheese and filling. The egg roll was 500 yen, with a subtle seasoning leaving the taste of the egg. It was delicious. Since it was an egg roll, the broth was not too strong, which was intentional. Finally, we had buckwheat shochu, which I had previously tried at the Kojiro Onsen and found delicious. I still had some lingering reservations, but I had a pleasant conversation with my wife. Yome-san is an easygoing woman, and she seemed to like it. If she liked it, then it's all good. Yome-san is a 3.5.

Vegetable dumplings (grilled), boiled vegetable dumplings, Bolognese with cheese from ○○, wine, appetizer - Total 5,700 yen. One of the night spots in Obihiro City, "Hokkaido Yatai", had delicious food unexpectedly satisfying. I was initially hesitant about ordering dumplings in Obihiro, but the recommendation of local ingredients and wine was excellent. The place was always full of customers, so I believe it is a popular restaurant.

"Unryu" seems to have a different approach when it comes to pairing drinks with dumplings. Instead of the usual beer with dumplings, they recommend white wine with their grilled vegetable dumplings. The menu also suggests other recommended pairings for different types of dumplings. I was recommended a Japanese sake, but I chose a dry one and it was refreshing and easy to drink.
The grilled vegetable dumplings were simple with a generous amount of large-cut vegetables. Sprinkling some pepper enhanced the sweetness of the vegetables, making the dumplings easy to enjoy with the sake. Squeezing some lemon juice added a refreshing touch. The dumplings were hot, so be careful not to burn your mouth. Overall, it was a delightful experience enjoying the dumplings and the attentive service of the owner at this restaurant.

The food stalls in Obihiro in October 2019 are lively and fun ♬ Despite it being a weekday, every stall is crowded. Since there are four of us, we decided to go into a stall that was not too busy! We entered this stylish curtain-covered stall! It seems to be run by a husband and wife. It looks like a relatively new store. They seem to specialize in the marriage of wine and gyoza, but I feel like having some sake... "Minami" from Kochi, a reliable delicious sake ♬ The appetizer is cold tofu with large soybeans. The soybeans are sweet ♡ It may look simple, but the tofu is delicious (*´∀`)♪ Boiled vegetable dumplings. The chewy skin is delicious, and it is easy to eat with no strong taste. The wife is friendly, but the owner is a bit aloof. Overall, it was a nice meal!

Going there * Grilled vegetable gyoza with plenty of vegetables~☆ Grateful * Cheese gyoza <- I forgot the name, it's the one that stretches so long!! It's hot!! * Pork kimchi gyoza, the reliable pork kimchi (°▽°) gyoza festival (*´∀`)♪ Gyoza is a drink!! There are unexpected shapes of gyoza that come out, but they are all delicious. If you only go to this restaurant, you would want to conquer all varieties♪ The gaze of the owner while eating... their eye power is strong!! (laughs) The atmosphere is warm and it was a good place to be.

I've been to Obihiro before, but this was my first time at a food stall in Hokkaido! There were many good shops lined up, making it hard to decide where to go. I ended up going to this place which seemed to specialize in gyoza. I ordered vegetable gyoza and sweet potato shochu. The gyoza, with lots of vegetables and nicely browned, looked delicious from the start. I definitely want to come back for another drink! Cheers!

After checking in at a hotel in Obihiro, I felt a little hungry so I headed to "Kita no Yatai" as it is known in Obihiro. As a big fan of dumplings, I was drawn to the sign for Gyoza Bar and decided to go in. They had interesting menu items like Tan Tan Gyoza and Pork Kimchi Gyoza, but I was curious about the recommended dish, the grilled vegetable gyoza, so I also ordered the boiled vegetable gyoza for comparison. I learned that the cooking method, whether grilling or boiling the vegetables, can make a significant difference in taste even though the filling ingredients are almost the same. The boiled gyoza had a sesame dressing on top and had a fresh taste, while the grilled gyoza had a crispy skin which was quite impressive and refreshing. The restaurant seemed to recommend the gyoza as the best match for white wine, but it was also delicious with beer. I look forward to trying the Tan Tan Gyoza next time. Thank you, "Yukumo" restaurant, for the meal♪

It's an expedition to Obihiro and I was surprised that there was no snow! We wanted to try a new place, but the one we wanted to go to was temporarily closed. So, we ended up at a gyoza and wine restaurant. We tried vegetable gyoza and a unique bolognese gyoza. The vegetable gyoza had a strong celery flavor, while the bolognese gyoza had limited quantities so it's best to order early. The skins were chewy and they recommended white wine with the vegetable gyoza. We still wanted to explore more places, so off we went. Thank you for the meal!

I was out drinking with about 10 girls at the neighboring restaurant, and it started drizzling, so I thought maybe we should head home. I was planning to leave without stopping by today, but then I suddenly felt like having some wine and gyoza for the finale... A total stranger (who later gave me their business card) treated me to a sparkling wine from Tokachi, and I took a sip of red wine, and now I'm completely drunk. By the way, the appetizer here uses tofu from Hosokawa Shokuhin in Toyokoro Town! It's a little different from other places that only serve edamame (lol). The taste is rich and delicious! Yeah, it was delicious and fun!

☆LP☆ Obihiro Yatai Series. This is the third shop we visited. It's a yatai specializing in gyoza. I wonder if it's run by a husband and wife? The wife takes orders and serves at the counter. I noticed they put a lot of effort into their alcohol selection in the yatai. They even had brandy available, but I stuck with my usual whisky on the rocks, while KG tried the brandy. It seems it's a brandy sold at Wine Castle. We ordered both regular gyoza and a spicy gyoza. The spicy gyoza had a bit of a salty taste, but it was enjoyable with a dumpling-like texture. Even though it was our third stop, we still managed to eat a lot. Eating grilled gyoza with a beer in hand, it doesn't get any better than this!

I had my usual vegetable dumplings, drank a bottle of wine, and finished with spicy dumplings today, which were tantan dumplings. They have a fragrant scent of sansho pepper. They are not too spicy. Enjoy them while breathing heavily. You can eat as many dumplings as you want...they were delicious! The restaurant was full of tourists during the consecutive holidays. It was a lively atmosphere! We talked a lot and ate a lot!...The dumplings are sold out! The pickled herring side dish is excellent as a drink accompaniment. The Yamasachi Rose wine was delicious!

It's a food stall in the north. Dumplings + wine...oh my goodness! It's full of my favorite things! (*´∀`*) They also have dumplings without garlic. They can be fried or boiled. I enjoy them with vinegar or salt. They have other dishes besides dumplings. Today, I had some egg rolls. I also had some grape wine from Tokachi Shimizu-cho. It's very fruity. It's like a cocktail! I could drink a lot of it (^^; Ah, I'm so satisfied.

Visited on 11/25/2017, the 5th stop on my food tour in Obihiro was here at "Gyoun" - a dumpling specialty shop offering various unique dumplings. By this point, my stomach was starting to feel full, but I couldn't resist trying the "Bolognese" dumplings. What exactly is Bolognese in dumpling form? I had to find out! Upon tasting it, I found it to be delicious and quite innovative. It seemed like a whole new type of dumpling. This one would definitely appeal to girls. I also ordered the "Polishiri dumplings," which were a bit difficult to describe. They were a bit salty for my taste, made with beef. Thank you for the meal!

I finished eating yakiniku at 19:00, so the restaurant where the older sister works is not open yet, so I wandered around the food stalls and ended up entering this shop. I told them that I was already full and asked if it was okay to just have a drink, and they happily agreed. So, let's toast with the recommended white wine. The appetizer is Hokkai shrimp. It goes really well with white wine. When I asked why the appetizer was shrimp, the owner said she was from Odaigahama. I spotted three acquaintances halfway through and brought them into the shop to drink. In the end, how many bottles of white wine did the five of us finish? The Memuro-produced edamame was delicious. Next time, I'll have some gyoza.

The tourist attraction "Kita no Yatai" in Obihiro City underwent its first major renovation since opening and reopened for its 6th season on April 20th. Among the 20 total shops starting fresh, one of the new entries is the dumpling bar "Yukumo." I arrived a little past 6 pm, possibly the first customer of the day. First, a toast with a draft beer for 500 yen. The complimentary potato salad was a bit bland. Known for their dumplings, I ordered from the blackboard menu: Vegetable Gyoza (500 yen for 5 pieces) with a hint of celery flavor, and Bolognese Gyoza (500 yen for 5 pieces) with homemade meat sauce wrapped in dumpling skin. The meat sauce had a herb-like taste, which might be better on its own. Lastly, the Shrimp Gyoza (500 yen for 4 pieces) was described as Japanese-style with shrimp filling and a thick skin with a savory soup inside. The owners, a couple new to the restaurant business, also hold a qualification in Tokachi wine. While they recommend pairing the dumplings with wine, I found the flavors a bit underwhelming for alcohol. The service has room for improvement, but with time, they may enhance the experience by making the dumpling skins from scratch in front of customers, similar to the old Jyunka restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed the dumplings and look forward to seeing how the restaurant evolves in the future.
