I found a restaurant online. It seems like an izakaya at night, but... um... was there a store there? I completely overlooked the place. When I put it in the navigation, it guided me to this house. Oh... there's no store here. Maybe it's closed? Or is it a day off? I found a parking sign. But the wooden board with a hole where the curtain should be hanging is not hanging. Does that mean it's closed? I looked across the road and finally found it. Coming from the town, turn left at Bel Classic. Then go straight and pass a yakiniku restaurant called Daisho-en on the left side... but I missed it. And I've passed by this road hundreds of times, but I didn't know there was a store here. By the way, the parking was apparently correct where I left it. Other than that, you're not supposed to leave it there. So, if you go by car, there are only two parking spaces, so the chances of finding a spot are quite low. I was lucky. Sunken kotatsu seats. I took off my shoes and went inside. There's a counter and table seats, but all seats are sunken kotatsu style, so it feels comfortable no matter where you sit. Lunch menu. There are four lunch options, and two more are added for the summer season. I decided on the one that had a good reputation online. The daily special on this day was hokke fry set meal. Shumai set meal for 850 yen. I decided on this one. I waited about 15 minutes after ordering. Then, the steamer arrived. Open! Oh, this is luxurious. No wonder it has a good reputation. And they said I could have unlimited rice refills. This is quite a good deal for 850 yen. Two kinds of shumai. I wonder what kind of leaves these are. They probably serve as a steaming guide. There were two kinds of shumai. The large ones came in a set of five, which was a pleasant size. Rice and miso soup. A small teacup of rice. And miso soup with fried tofu and wakame seaweed. This miso soup was extremely hot. It remained hot until the end. Three small side dishes. Fried tofu salad, spinach with sesame dressing, and pickles. Three side dishes come with it... I could probably eat a bowl of rice with this. Dessert too. And dessert is included. On this day, it was grapes. Well, it was too much trouble, so I ate the skin with the chopsticks. The skin was not at all bitter and could be eaten as it is. Meat shumai. I started with the meat shumai. It was steamed thoroughly and very hot. The skin was soft, and I could feel the meat directly. Also, they were large, so obviously, I couldn't eat them in one bite. The shumai with mustard was delicious. The yellow one was... I wonder what it is. A yellow shumai that I haven't seen much before. I wonder what it's made of... I tried biting it in half, and it turned out to be pumpkin. A rare pumpkin shumai. I might have eaten it for the first time. It was also delicious. Seconds... Rice refill, please... I asked for seconds, and wow, they really piled it up. They probably thought I would eat a lot. There was twice the amount of the initial serving. By the way, I could hear the sound, and they might be cooking rice with gas here. The rice was cooked a bit soft, but it was tasty. Self-serve coffee. It's really nice that it's included for 850 yen. However, the coffee was also very hot. Hot items are rare in hot shops, actually. I found a good restaurant. However, it's hard to get in without being able to park the car. A hidden gem... or rather, I just couldn't find it. Next time, I'm curious about the ginger pork. Thank you for the meal. ⇒ ◇ If only I could easily park my car, I could go there right away ◇
