On this day, I met up with Takagurume before heading to the restaurant. It’s hard to believe tomorrow is already December! The area around the restaurant is a residential neighborhood and looks quite nice. They've just moved, and the glass windows are shiny and give a good impression. Since it’s a standing bar, it’s perfect for stopping by after work to grab a drink and bite to eat.
We started with a toast over a beer. They have a variety of drinks, including sake, so it's a great spot for alcohol lovers. Here’s what we tried:
- Kombu-marinated Hirame (flatfish)
- Isidai sashimi
- Yokowa sashimi
- Grilled chicken liver stew
- Grilled natural fish head with salt
- Hiyoshi Sake Shop specialties: Negi-ton (pork with green onions).
- Sashimi of hirama salmon, usubahagi, and koro-dai!
When I have a beer, I can't help but be tempted by the sashimi and chicken sashimi (laughs). The owner is very particular about the ingredients, sourcing from Ise Bay among other places! As you can see, the cuts look stunning. The portions are just right—not too much, not too little! Let’s enjoy each one with wasabi and soy sauce. In between, we tried some shiso (perilla leaves).
There are also standing counter seats, making it accommodating for solo diners. If anyone is looking for a place for a gathering around Moriguchi Station, this is definitely a spot to consider! Thank you for the attentive service and wonderful dishes throughout our visit!
Thank you for reading until the end!
