I went to Ota Shokudo. The sign also says "Sushimasa." When I entered the restaurant through the curtain, it was a dining room. There were seats on the right side, set up like a sushi restaurant. The menu had a variety of options, from sushi sets to regular dishes. This time, I ordered the value set of grilled meat bowl and ramen (soba or udon also available). The ramen had a similar volume to regular ramen. The noodles were thin and felt a bit too soft. The grilled meat bowl came with a side of rolled omelette. It was lunchtime, so the restaurant was quite busy with customers. Oolong tea was self-serve and unlimited.

[Visit Date: 2012-07-19] On the 9th day of my first camping trip to Hokkaido, I visited a restaurant on my way from Mori Town to Hakodate via the Kabe Onsen. After soaking in the public hot spring "Kame no Yu" nearby, I decided to visit this restaurant based on a tourist pamphlet from Kabe Town. The restaurant is called "Ota Shokudo" and "Sushimasa," with the same owner operating a general dining area and a sushi counter within the same establishment. The interior has table seating, tatami seating, and a sushi counter, which looked very nice. [Lunch Menu] - Sashimi Lunch (1300 yen): The sashimi was prepared by the staff at the sushi counter and arrived in about 8 minutes. It included sashimi, salad, pickles, rice, miso soup, and dessert. There were 6-7 types of sashimi, and even tamagoyaki was served, typical of a sushi restaurant. It was delicious! The sashimi was top-notch, and the standout was the delicious rice. It was sticky and sweet, truly impressive. I left the restaurant very satisfied. Now, I will head towards Hakodate, although I haven't decided on my next destination yet. [Menu] - Recommended Lunch Menu: Sushi Lunch (1300 yen), Sashimi Lunch (1300 yen), Char Siu Donburi Lunch (1100 yen) - Noodle Dishes: Zaru Soba (550 yen), Kake Soba (550 yen), Tempura Soba (750 yen), Nabeyaki Udon (800 yen), and more - Chinese Dishes: Ramen (600 yen), Teppanyaki Yakisoba (800 yen), Fried Rice (700 yen), Ota Noodles (850 yen), and more - Set Meals: Tonkatsu Set Meal (1200 yen), Yakiniku Set Meal (1200 yen), Vegetable Stir-Fry Set Meal (950 yen), and more - Sushi: Sushi (Regular 1200 yen, Special 1400 yen, Deluxe 2100 yen), Chirashi Sushi (Special 1600 yen, Deluxe 2100 yen), and more - Rice Bowls: Tempura Donburi (900 yen), Katsudon (900 yen), Curry Rice (700 yen), and more.

This is a sushi restaurant located near the geyser in Shikabe. To be precise, it is a combination of a sushi restaurant and a dining area. Inside, there is a sushi counter and a raised seating area, as well as a menu that includes sushi, sushi with noodles, and other dining options. Overall, the prices are relatively high for a rural area. The noodles in the hot pot udon were overly soft and the soup was too diluted. The tempura seemed to be made from frozen peeled shrimp with a thin batter. The sushi also did not seem to be made by a skilled sushi chef. There was another sushi restaurant across the street, but it was closed. There was also a takoyaki and okonomiyaki shop nearby, but it was closed as well. The majority of the customers seemed to be locals. I do not recommend this place.

Ota Shokudo in Kanabe, Donan Shokudo, located along National Route 278, had lunch at Ota Shokudo. The recommended menu at the entrance of the restaurant was "Ota Men". I was curious about what it was, so I ordered it right away. Ota Shokudo is the same store as the sushi restaurant "Sushimasa". Although they are separated inside the store, you can sit wherever you like. The Ota Men that was brought to me was a Chinese-style thickened ramen with a thick sauce. It warms you up on cold days.
