I visited this place to buy coffee beans for home, and I happened to find it when I bought bread at the nearby bakery Harry. The exterior looks a bit cold, but it fits in well with the trendy atmosphere of this area. I wonder if they used to have seating for dining in? There were tables, but now it seems they only sell beans. There was also an area that looked like a roasting room in the back. There were many types of beans, so I was a bit indecisive, but I ended up buying the "Strong Mix" beans. It said it's blended with Mandelin. I like strong and bitter coffee, so it's very delicious. There are other coffee shops in this area, so I'm looking forward to trying them out.

We came to Saito Coffee in Sapporo for a main event tomorrow with just the two of us. Our August passed by quickly without any sense of accomplishment. With our remaining short lives, can't we spend a little more peacefully? Besides our grandson's birthday, we won't be coming back for a while. We had lunch in the city and before entering the hotel, I told my wife to include coffee beans in the route. She brought us to a home-roasted coffee shop in Moiwa. They don't serve coffee, it's a private house. The atmosphere is so peaceful, I wonder how happy it would be to spend the whole day here. The smell is amazing. They mainly have medium roasted coffee, no dark roast. I'll take 100 grams of Colombian beans. My wife prefers drip packs, as they are more convenient. The Colombian beans have a shiny appearance, could it be a full city roast? The beans have a nice gloss and shine. I grind them finely as usual. The smell while grinding is also pleasant. This helps me discover the qualities of the beans. The aroma is quite complex. Just the smell alone makes me happy. I slowly pour the hot water. I take a sip. It's not overly roasted, preserving the natural flavor of the beans while providing a gentle kick. It's a delicious coffee. My wife's coffee, on the other hand, is surprisingly deep and flavorful. It's similar to the beans we usually buy, which are mostly dark roasted. "Oh, I see."

Coffee shop near the Moiwa Ropeway, takeout available. The Mocha Harar is a dark roast, so it has some bitterness but not too heavy, with moderate sweetness and not much acidity. It has a good finish and is easy to drink. The Haiti has a thickness and sweetness with a refreshing mint-like flavor, not much acidity, very delicious. The Sigri Mix is a light roast with mild bitterness, a hint of acidity, and moderate sweetness. Overall, it is of high quality and worth trying other beans as well.

At a wedding party held at Royton Sapporo, one of the party favors was "Forbidden Fruit" from Saito Coffee. It was a selection made by a friend with a curious and high sense of style, and the name is also good. The taste is quite strong and masculine, with a strong balance of richness and aroma, and a gentle acidity. As someone who likes refreshing strong flavors, I really liked the taste. Saito Coffee is a shop that sells self-roasted coffee beans in-store or by delivery, not a cafe or coffee shop where you can drink coffee. The owner, Tomo Saito, has been experimenting with self-roasting coffee beans since around 1975 at a coffee specialty store in Sapporo, challenging the conventional wisdom of blending and surprising coffee fans with his unique blends. In 1983, he started his own business, opening Saito Coffee in Sumikawa, Minami-ku, Sapporo. Since then, he has moved locations several times and settled in his current location, which also serves as his home. Since its founding, the shop has been selling beans to cafes, coffee shops, and wholesalers in Sapporo and other areas in Hokkaido and beyond, as well as delivering directly to general households and companies in Sapporo and surrounding areas. The price of their self-roasted coffee beans (100g) ranges from 630 yen for a light soft mix to 735 yen for a rich and sweet Sigri (Papua New Guinea). They also offer various straight beans, such as Brazil (682 yen) and Mocha Java mix (672 yen). They can also deliver to remote areas, so feel free to call or fax them to place an order. Once you become a regular customer, you can even order outside of business hours via voicemail or fax.

At the foot of the ropeway, there are narrow streets in a residential area with a few coffee shops that seem popular among women. Despite the small alley, many cars are crowded as people gather at the trendy cafes. However, the cafe I am aiming for is a functional standalone house that can withstand heavy snow in the northern region. It has no trendy appearance or cafe space, but it is a specialty store that sells self-roasted coffee beans, catering to coffee lovers. When I entered the shop filled with the aroma of coffee, I was surprised to see quite a few customers. It seems to be a well-known shop for coffee lovers, as they also wholesale beans outside the area. The beans are stored in a unique way, resembling a basket, and there are many samples lined up for customers to smell and taste. The staff are very friendly and provide detailed comments. The atmosphere is uplifting! The Ethiopian Mocha Sidamo 100g for 700 yen is classified as STRONG, known for its unique taste preferred by coffee enthusiasts. It has a good balance of sweetness, acidity, and bitterness, with a great aroma and flavor. The Kirimanjaro 100g for 700 yen is classified as MEDIUM, with a strong acidity but not overly sour, and a hint of bitterness that enhances the aroma. It is clean and refreshing, with no negative impressions. Considering the price and taste, this shop seems to be the best choice for enjoying specialty coffee at home.

Since my first visit in 2005, this has been my favorite coffee bean shop. It is located a few minutes' walk west from the city tram stop "Ropeway Entrance." The exterior is modern with a silver metal siding. I remember when "Miyakoshiya Coffee THE CAFE" opened next door later on. When you open the door, you are greeted with the wonderful aroma of freshly roasted coffee. The main coffee beans are not in a showcase but displayed in iron bowls. The shop owner is very particular about the quality of the beans and imports high-quality beans from different origins. The characteristics of the coffee beans are explained in detail by the shop owner. This time, I purchased the new "Monte Azul" and "Haiti" from two types of Brazilian beans. "Monte Azul" has a unique character among Brazilian beans, with a strong aroma and rich flavor. It is known as the "Brahman of Brazil." "Haiti" is a coffee bean from the Republic of Haiti in Central America, known for its rich aroma and refreshing acidity. I brewed them at home using a paper drip. The "Monte Azul" had a deep bitterness and richness that lingered with a refreshing finish. The "Haiti" was light, refreshing, with minimal bitterness and a clear, transparent quality. The coffee from this shop is very fresh, with a good foam and a delightful aroma when brewed. Despite the recent rise in coffee bean prices, I hope they continue to provide high-quality coffee in the future.

First time visiting based on information from the internet. Located near the Moiwa Ropeway Station, I was surprised to find out that Moro Miyanokoshiya THE CAFE is right next to it, as I had never noticed it despite passing by many times. The exterior doesn't really look like a coffee shop without the small Saito Coffee sign. Inside, it has a cozy atmosphere and smells really nice. There were quite a few types of beans to choose from, but being a first-timer, I decided to go with the Mandheling-based Strong Mix, which I really enjoyed. It had a great aroma, a good balance of bitterness, and richness. This area is a bit out of the way for me personally, but I would like to visit again when buying bread at Ange-san.

"Kinotoya", "FABcafe", "Abidharma", and many other local shops in Hokkaido have been wholesaling coffee beans for a long time. However, it seems that more than half of them are wholesaling to places outside Hokkaido, such as Tokyo. The shop does not operate a cafe, only sells coffee beans, but I will register and post it on Tabelog. The shop opened in 1982 and moved to its current location at the foot of Moiwa Ropeway a few years ago. Although many cafes have opened since then, this shop still has many fans, and on this day, two groups of people came to buy beans. The shop has a small interior with coffee bean samples, coffee tools, tea, olive oil, lotus biscuits, and more. The coffee beans are divided into three types: "Sweetness (flavor)", "Acidity", and "Bitterness", each rated from 1 to 3, making it easy to choose. Overall, they are divided into three types: STRONG, MEDIUM, and LIGHT, each with comments. The shop also offers a variety of blends, such as Soft Mix, Strong Mix, and Mocha Sidamo. If you want to consult with the owner about coffee, it's best to visit in the morning. The key to enjoying the coffee is to "buy a little at a time and use fresh beans". The owner recommends grinding and brewing the beans at home for the best taste. The shop may not stand out much, but it's worth a visit for coffee lovers in the area. Enjoyed the coffee, thank you.

My first visit to Saito Coffee was because the beans used at "FAB cafe" in Tanuki Koji 8-chome were introduced as coming from this shop. The shop is located at the foot of Moiwa Mountain, just below the Moiwa Ropeway boarding area. Despite being a small street at the foot of the mountain, there always seems to be a lot of car traffic, with "Miyakoshiya THE CAFE" next door and the popular sundry shop "BLUE TULIP" diagonally across. The shop used to have a cafe space, but now it seems to only sell beans. You can get very high-quality self-roasted coffee beans that are handled in many popular cafes, but they are quite strong, reflecting the shop's unique personality in the taste of the coffee. For those who like light coffee, this coffee may be quite intense. For those who like strong, robust coffee, I think you can get a sense of satisfaction with just one cup. Surprisingly, they also handle the black tea from Asahikawa's tea specialty shop "Life Lapsang," so I have also been taken care of on the tea side. I was surprised at first that it was next to "Miyakoshiya Coffee," but the nature of the shop and the taste of the coffee are completely different, so they may not be direct competitors. It's a happy town with coffee shops lined up, where you can enjoy your favorite coffee according to your mood of the day.
