Smoked chicken nanban bento. Hmm, I couldn't eat this one. The flavor was too strong... And what's up with the tartar sauce? I couldn't quite figure out the taste. Couldn't taste any smokiness either. The rice was just okay. The braised burdock root side dish was a bit disappointing. Quiche - I heated it in the toaster! This one was delicious! It had pumpkin, a taste of autumn. Crispy on the outside, I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal. ★

I purchased a Peperoncino-style green salad and a shrimp and potato coriander omelette in May 2021. The shrimp and potato coriander omelette had a high potato content with a strong shrimp flavor, but very little actual shrimp. Once the coriander is cooked, the flavor almost disappears. The green salad was to my liking.

I stopped by on my way home from work. Maruyama Class is not only great for shopping, but also fun to just walk around inside. 1. Fried Chicken: The size is as big as a baby's fist. It's crispy, but the flavor is a bit mild. 2. Mozuku Seaweed Salad: A seafood salad. I drizzle ponzu sauce over it and enjoy the light taste. 3. Croquette: Sorry, I forgot the name of the product. I try it without sauce first. Each ingredient inside is cut into large pieces, giving it a satisfying texture. 4. Smoked Persimmon Peas: The unique smoky flavor is subtle and I really like it. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal.

At the end of the year, my husband and I both caught a cold and were feeling down. On New Year's Day, we managed to make ozoni (mochi soup) and a mini osechi (New Year's meal) with just one tier. However, on the 2nd, we were so tired that we only went out to buy a new TV. We decided to buy dinner on the way back. We wandered around Maruyama Class and ended up buying a bento box here. It had a variety of items, which was nice! But upon closer inspection, it was filled with a lot of meat haha. Although it didn't have the traditional five items, the rice was like a mixed rice dish and lightly seasoned. The salmon was moist, but the flavor was average. The simmered dish tasted a bit like it came from a retort pouch. The lotus root kinpira was light and crunchy. The quiche was packed with vegetables and had a fresh taste, but it could use a bit more salt. The white fish fry had a crispy coating, but the fish itself was a bit dry. The baked chicken was moist and probably the most delicious item. The fried chicken had a slightly bitter taste in the coating, but the flavor was average. Come to think of it, this may have been my first time trying a bento box from a supermarket, and it might be better than expected! I had high hopes, but I think I preferred the ones from Tel Tzina. My husband had a different bento box and said it was delicious. If I have the chance, I would like to try other options in the future. Thank you for the meal.

This is a takeout specialty store located inside Maruyama Class, directly connected to the Subway Maruyama Koen Station. I visited for the first time to buy a light meal before heading out in the evening. My mother wanted me to buy sushi rolls from another place, but I wanted to try something different this time, so I came here. I always wanted to try it here. I couldn't eat a full meal because I might be served something where I was going, and if nothing was served, I would be really hungry... So I looked for a light bento. I bought the "Scallop and Mushroom Mixed Rice" bento. It's a very cute size bento. It's probably just the right size for a small eater, right? The flavor of the scallops has seeped into the rice. The scent of soy sauce is nice. The texture of the mushrooms is delicious. I devoured it all. Well, this size seems like I could eat 2 or 3 more, but I'm still hungry. Oh well, I'm going out anyway, so I can just buy a late-night snack. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

Due to a virus-related computer malfunction, the migration process to a new desktop computer has been completed. I am still getting used to Windows 10 as it is my first time using it, and also due to health reasons. I have resumed liking and commenting, so thank you for your support. [April 2019]
"The Farmer's Son - Yataiya Asia" is a popular local shop that reproduces street food from various Asian countries in the form of side dishes and bento boxes. "The Farmer's Son" has stores in Sapporo's department stores "Mitsukoshi" and "Marui Imai." In 2019, they launched a sister brand called "Yataiya Asia." The "Yataiya Asia" at JR Sapporo Station's Sapporo Esta is also part of the same group. They also opened a store in the trendy commercial facility, "Maruyama Class," in March 2019. I visited for the first time with my usual companion.
This shop is located on the first floor of the trendy commercial facility "Maruyama Class" in Sapporo's Chuo Maruyama area. Please check the exact location on Tabelog. The store is in the space where "Tercina" used to be. It has transitioned from Italian to Asian cuisine, offering side dishes and bento boxes. It has a similar product lineup to the "Yataiya Asia" at Esta. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for the Maruyama area (laughs).
I bought the "Specialty Chicken Rice - Fried" for cilantro lovers.
- Specialty Chicken Rice - Fried
Weight: 258g (after removing the bag)
Uses chicken thigh for chicken cutlet
The chicken is marinated
Rice is a blend of Japanese rice 5: Jasmine rice 3
The rice is cooked with chicken soup
Cilantro rice is on top
Pickled radish and carrots
Two types of sauce for chicken cutlet
Homemade cilantro oil
Virgin oil seasoned with cilantro, garlic, and salt
Homemade sweet chili sauce
Chili sauce with herb flavor
Price: 530 yen (tax included)
The "Specialty Chicken Rice - Fried" is a delicious Asian bento box. The "Homemade Cilantro Oil" and "Homemade Sweet Chili Sauce" are interesting additions. The "double cilantro" of "cilantro" and "cilantro oil" enhances the Asian taste even more. It's a must-try bento box for cilantro lovers. I wonder which country's Asian cuisine I should try next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

On a Sunday morning, after a long time, I walked to the back street and arrived at a popular melon bread shop, but unfortunately gave up because there was a line of about 20 people 30 minutes before opening. I took a break at the Starbucks like Maruyama Class... Surprisingly, "Son of a Farmer" was NEW OPEN on the first floor! They sold bento boxes, fried foods, salads, and side dishes. The items had an Asian taste, as the name of the shop suggests. I tried the penne pasta lasagna style for 385 yen, minced meat and ginger teppanyaki spring roll for 210 yen, and croquette for 130 yen. I made a strange choice ignoring the Asian taste haha. These dishes will be the side dishes for dinner that day. The penne pasta lasagna style tasted as the name suggests, but using penne instead of lasagna felt a bit off. However, the seasoning was well done, as expected from "Son of a Farmer". The minced meat and ginger teppanyaki spring roll was slightly soggy due to time passing, but I didn't mind it. I was actually skeptical about ginger in spring rolls, but it wasn't bad with the "Son of a Farmer magic". The croquette was just average, but something... haha. I will probably visit this place again. They have various items and the menu changes with the seasons. I will review it each time. Thank you for the meal.

It's firefly squid season. Finding firefly squid dishes gets me excited. The dish includes firefly squid, rapeseed blossoms, cauliflower, broccoli, mizuna, cherry tomatoes, lotus root chips, and suddenly encounters the saltiness of anchovies. The flavors don't quite come together.

On a certain holiday, I stopped by a Chinese deli located inside Enzan Class on my way home after having lunch. The deli is run by a son of a farmer brand, and it occupies one third of the display area in the sales area, with the rest belonging to the farmer's son brand. From the menu that day, I chose "Deep-fried Burdock (224 yen)". The thick burdock had a satisfying crunch with a lightly salted tempura-like coating and a subtle burdock flavor, making it a good side dish for rice. I also tried the "Chicken Chili Cheese Bun (260 yen)", which the staff recommended to heat up before eating. After heating it up, I noticed a unique aroma and a dense dough filled with plenty of chicken, chili, and onions, giving it a spicy and savory taste that was different from Japanese flavors. I realized that although I don't often buy food to take home from here, if I have the chance in the future, I would consider it. Thank you for the meal.

I went to Maruyama Class to pick out some side dishes. I had never tried the fried chicken made by the farmer's son before, so I decided to buy it as a snack. I also bought the second most popular item, the cabbage croquette. I couldn't figure out what the third most popular item was.

When I went to Maruyama Class in January this year, I forgot to mention that I bought some side dishes here. There were many toy chickens hanging that make a chirping sound when you press them. The deli shop, "Yataiya Asia," seems to be a sister store of "Nouka no Musuko" and specializes in Asian cuisine. They offer authentic dishes from various Asian countries as well as dishes with a unique Japanese twist. I tried the "Fried Koya Tofu" (190 yen for 100g excluding tax), which had a soy sauce-based flavor. The seasoning was tasty, but the texture of the koya tofu was a bit too sponge-like for my liking. I think it would be better if it was soaked and made softer. I wonder if adding some sauce would make it less dry? Also, koya tofu seems more like a Japanese dish rather than Asian cuisine. Well, next time, I'd like to try a product that is an Asian cuisine fusion. Thank you, "Asia" restaurant.

Lunch visit with family. Some thoughts: Located inside Maruyama Class. Bought zangi. Paid with PayPay. Zangi was salt-based, not soy sauce-based. Crispy outside, juicy inside even after some time. It was delicious.
