Hirakata City, Osaka Prefecture. Opening in January '24. A general menu that suits Japanese tastes. If you make a reservation about three days in advance, they can prepare dishes not listed on the menu by specifying the main dish, appetizer, ingredients (pork, fish, etc.), and seasoning. I visited with two friends on a Tuesday night in November before 7 PM. There is parking in front of the store. The restaurant is called "Makoto," written as 真誠. The parking sign is placed above the name of the previous store, so if you look closely, you can find it. **Store Interior** Due to bad weather, there were no other customers. The manager was alone. All seats are non-smoking. There was no music, and the space is a single room with chairs and sofas. **Order Summary (Prices include tax)** - **Water Dumplings (6 pieces, 500 yen)**: The manager recommended trying these without any dipping sauce, and indeed they were delicious. The juicy filling had a good balance, and the rich seasoning was addictive. The manager mentioned that Chinese people generally eat water dumplings, so they aren't very familiar with fried dumplings. - **Regular Rice (200 yen)**: They asked if I wanted a regular or large size, with a large for an extra 50 yen. - **Fried Noodles (Chinese-style seasoning, 850 yen)**: The noodles were thick and straight, providing a good bite. Accompanied by shiitake mushrooms, cabbage, squid, and carrots, the sweet and savory broth was delicious. The manager noted that salt and garlic flavors have become popular lately. - **Half Fried Rice (450 yen)**: Simple ingredients like green onions, eggs, and carrots, with a milder flavor yet good aroma. Those who prefer stronger seasonings might want to choose something else. - **Fried Chicken (3 pieces, 400 yen)**: The crust was crispy and firm, while the inside was juicy. They used chicken thighs full of flavor. - **Mu Shu Pork (650 yen)**: Contains shiitake mushrooms, pork, and bok choy, with a rich sweet and savory flavor that pairs well with rice. - **Sesame Balls (2 pieces, 250 yen)**: I took these home. They packaged them in a cup inside a bag. The sesame paste filling was rich and delicious. The total for two people was 3,350 yen, about 1,600 yen each. I paid with PayPay. Feeling full, and not having any alcohol, the overall cost felt reasonable for a typical meal. A little before finishing, I chatted with the staff and learned about popular reservation-only dishes favored by local regulars, such as "Steamed Fish," "Chinese-style Braised Spare Ribs with Kuzu Noodles," and "Steamed Chicken with Scallion Sauce." They are also working hard to post various dishes on Instagram for reference. In China, people eat lamb instead of beef, and lamb shabu-shabu is popular. It tends to get crowded during the day, but it's usually quiet at night, so feel free to call for inquiries. Though it can be a bit pricier, they accommodate one portion and will prepare according to specific requests about the number of portions. I look forward to requesting authentic Chinese cuisine. Thank you for the meal! (*^^*) *Current rating: 3.07 from 11 reviews.*

This is a Chinese restaurant I often visit. The picture shows the mapo tofu set meal, but everything I eat here is genuinely delicious! A great point is that the side dishes include substantial items like fried chicken and shumai. The dumplings are mainly boiled, which makes them authentic. They are juicy and chewy, and I could eat many of them!

On Friday, May 17, 2024, at 1:49 PM, I visited a restaurant that has recently become famous for its delicious Chinese cuisine at affordable prices in Kashiwanoha. I opted for the daily lunch set, which is available on weekdays for a tax-inclusive price of 900 yen. From 11 AM to 2:30 PM, you can enjoy a luxurious lunch for this price! Today's special menu featured cold spicy noodles with Sichuan pepper (jajangmyeon), a half serving of fried rice, soup, and one piece of fried chicken. I had heard from local friends that the chef's skills are impressive, and everything is delicious—especially the fried rice! My anticipation was high before even tasting the food. As my friends suggested, the lunch set was incredibly tasty! The fried chicken was so special; when I bit into it, juices burst out—I will never forget that flavor! The char siu in the fried rice was excellent, and I found myself unable to stop eating, something I’ve never experienced before. Next time, I'm definitely going to try the large portion of fried rice! The rich flavor of the meat-packed jajangmyeon was intense, something I had never tasted before—it was surprisingly delicious. It would be a shame if jajangmyeon isn’t included in the regular menu, but perhaps I could request it by calling ahead. I sincerely hope it becomes a regular menu item! Thank you for the delicious dishes today. Thank you, Jun Hamamura. I appreciate you reading my silly review all the way to the end. If you have any suggestions or questions for me, please feel free to comment. I look forward to your continued support!

I thought it was unusual to arrive at a restaurant with no customers at all. I didn't realize the place had changed. Unfortunately, I found out that the daily lunch special is only available on weekdays. I ordered the Gyoza Set Meal (with Fried Rice) for ¥1,200. Instead of fried gyoza, it was served as boiled gyoza, which surprised me with its deliciousness. I usually don't order it because I'm not a big fan, but since it was recommended, I decided to try it, and I'm glad I did! The chewy skin paired wonderfully with the finely minced, soft filling. It was hot and delicious. The fried rice was also tasty—good job! I will definitely order this again. The portion was quite large, enough to share with a small child. For the Ankake Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles with thick sauce) priced at ¥900, it had plenty of ingredients, which was great. The sauce was not heavy and had a refreshing taste. The noodles had a nice sear, and they looked appetizing, but the texture was different—something I hadn't encountered before. I'm a fan of egg noodles, so this wasn’t quite to my taste. However, mixing the ankake sauce with the fried rice created a delicious combination. Overall, it was a satisfying meal!

I used to visit Reika, which used to be in this location, quite often, so I was curious about this place! Today, I stopped by for lunch and went with the classic fried rice! Large portion! 800 yen! So cheap! (Comes with soup) The appearance is like regular fried rice, but the flavor is well-seasoned and delicious! Just as expected for a large portion, I’m feeling full(^^). Halfway through, I tried adding some chili oil for a change, and the Sichuan pepper was quite strong, giving it a nice numbing sensation! I thought it would also go well with mapo tofu. Overall, I enjoyed it a lot! I will definitely come back!

The restaurant "Reika," which I used to frequent, suddenly closed, and a new place called "Shinsei" opened at the end of January. I heard that it closed due to the owner-chef's illness, which is quite unfortunate. Since some time has passed since the opening, I decided to visit for lunch. The interior was mostly unchanged from before, but the wallpaper and other details were new, making it a brighter space compared to before. The lunch menu featured a variety of set meals, but there were also noodle dishes, fried items, and rice dishes available a la carte. This time, I ordered my favorite dish, Chinjao Rosu (stir-fried beef and pepper), as a set meal, while my companion ordered the Tianjin rice bowl. When we entered the restaurant, it was almost full with a group of ladies, but soon they left, and we found ourselves the only ones in the now-emptied restaurant. Chinjao Rosu Set - 1,150 Yen The Chinjao Rosu was surprisingly generous in portion size and came with rice, egg soup, a piece of fried chicken, and pickled vegetables. I started with the soup, which had a slight thickness and was a typical Chinese egg soup, but it was very delicious—definitely authentic Chinese cuisine! The Chinjao Rosu used pork instead of the beef commonly found in Kansai, but the preparation of the thinly sliced meat was excellent and very tasty. There were also a few onions, and the seasoning with oyster sauce was just right, giving it a hotel-style Chinese taste. The single piece of fried chicken was a good side, and I quickly finished my rice. Tianjin Rice Bowl - 600 Yen The Kansai-style Tianjin rice bowl had a soy sauce-based broth, and the sauce was well-seasoned and tasty, with plenty of delicious eggs. However, the rice was plain white rice without any fillings, which made it somewhat monotonous as I continued eating due to the large portion. My companion expressed disappointment because the Tianjin rice bowl at the previous Reika had fillings and was really good. While I worry about the former staff from Reika, I’m pleased that a restaurant with authentic Chinese cuisine has taken its place, different from the typical town-style Chinese. I'm also curious to try the much-loved mapo tofu from Reika to see how it compares this time. The daily lunch special is set to start at 900 yen from February 19, so a return visit is definitely in order! It was delicious! Best of luck to you in the future! Thank you for the meal!

Today, I came here after catching the sudden news that "Shin Chugoku Shokufukubo Reika," a beloved local restaurant, has closed its doors. My family used to visit a few times a year, and there were no signs of this happening, so I was really surprised! In its place, a new Chinese restaurant has opened almost immediately. The atmosphere inside is calm, with soft background music playing. There’s a kitchen in the back, and instead of counter seating, there are eight tables for 2 to 4 people. Outside and inside, there are plenty of flowers celebrating the opening! The restaurant is run by four people, who speak some Chinese among themselves. The menu features many familiar standard dishes, and I chose the "Mapo Tofu Set Meal." As a special for the opening, we were given complimentary "Steamed Dumplings" first. The dumplings had thick, handmade wrappers filled generously, and they were delicious. As for the Mapo Tofu, it had a good combination of minced meat and silky tofu, with a slightly soy sauce-based thick sauce. The spiciness and numbing sensation were just right without being overwhelming. The small plate of fried chicken was seasoned with salt and pepper, and the egg drop soup had a rich, creamy taste. I finished up with some authentic pickled mustard greens on the side. Everything was prepared with care, leaving a good impression, but when it comes to the Mapo Tofu, I preferred the flavoring from "Reika," which leaned more towards Sichuan style! I plan to come back soon with my family to try other menu items in detail. However, I still wonder what happened to "Reika." They were always busy on weekends, with a line of customers, and the couple running it seemed very active. It's truly a mystery! The service was great, and thank you for the meal. Accessibility note: The restaurant is wheelchair friendly, and there is a washlet in the back right. There’s parking for a few cars right in front of the restaurant.

The an is delicious. However, overall, the portion size is a bit too large for me, which makes it somewhat uncomfortable. Also, the fried rice is just okay, which is disappointing.
