辛い好きもぐたん
[Completely Smoke-Free] Ideal for summer retreat with hot springs. A restaurant that opened in April 2020 in the Takayama Kogen area of Kitahiroshima, using ingredients harvested from the farm. Summer seasonal (July and August) specials on the 5th, 15th, and 25th of each month, as well as every Monday, are Soba Days where you can enjoy hand-made soba using buckwheat flour harvested here. The location of the restaurant is as follows: from Tomigaoka Ria, head towards Kitahiroshima City, and from Ria, turn right before reaching the Kitahiroshima Rehabilitation Center. Proceed about 50 meters from the entrance to the Takayama Kogen Hot Springs.
Visited for the first time at 1:30 pm on August 25, 2020. It took me an hour to cycle from Shin-Sapporo. Hokkaido has many hot springs, and among them, the highest altitude is the Takayama Kogen Hot Springs. I booked accommodation in Shinsunagawa for the next weekend, so today was a day of rest in preparation for that. After having lunch in Eniwa (tonkatsu set meal), I was heading towards the hot springs when I saw a sign for NOMU Kitchen on the way. I didn't know about this new restaurant that had opened. The restaurant uses a single-house building, with the first floor for vegetable sales and the second floor for dining. There are many benches around the building, making it a nice place to enjoy soft-serve ice cream. I didn't plan on eating anything, just buying vegetables to take home, but it happened to be Soba Day. Even though I was already full, I thought I could manage to eat a serving of soba. I ordered cold soba for 800 yen. I don't eat soba often (maybe once a year), so I'm not confident in my review. The noodles had a good chewy texture, and the buckwheat flour flavor was mild. The dipping sauce was light on dashi flavor and had a sharp seasoning taste. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was lively, with many young staff members working. I like this kind of vibe. After finishing the delicious meal, I couldn't resist trying the soft-serve ice cream that caught my eye earlier. I can handle spicy and hot foods, but cold foods don't sit well with my stomach. I tried the Hokkaido milk soft-serve ice cream for 350 yen. The milk was rich and delicious, but a bit too sweet for my liking as I prefer unsweetened hot milk. There were plenty of benches to choose from, so everyone could enjoy their favorite spot. Before leaving, I also purchased some vegetables: cherry tomatoes for 200 yen and cucumbers for 300 yen. The staff mentioned that the tomatoes might not be very sweet as they were harvested early, but they turned out to be incredibly sweet and delicious. I ate the cucumber by sprinkling salt and adding red perilla leaves for a quick pickling. The cucumbers harvested in the morning are a different experience from those sold in supermarkets, with a more intense flavor. Afterward, I spent about an hour and a half soaking in the open-air bath at the mall, relaxing and rejuvenating my tired feet. It was a good way to prepare for the upcoming weekend trip to Shin-Kanayama.
