Yamamoto Gyuzo is the original cheese tteokbokki restaurant! The true origin of "cheese tteokbokki" is actually not in Shin-Okubo. If you come to Yamamoto Gyuzo, you must try their original cheese tteokbokki. In the center, there’s tteokbokki surrounded by corn butter, kimchi, and garlic soy sauce. In the triangular section, there’s cheese mixed in an exquisite ratio of mixed cheese and mozzarella. It stretches wonderfully! The long yellow dish in the back is gyeranjjim, a fluffy Korean steamed egg.
Next, we have "fresh beef liver." The liver is so fresh it can be eaten raw. It's incredibly soft, just holding it with chopsticks. You grill it to your liking and dip it in a sauce made from sesame oil and salt before eating.
Then there’s "seared yukhoe," which involves lightly searing fresh yukhoe after mixing it with egg. It has a different deliciousness compared to raw yukhoe.
The "seafood and chive jeon" is super fluffy! It’s the best jeon I’ve ever eaten. It’s fluffy, but it doesn’t contain yam; apparently, there’s a special technique to cooking it.
Next is the "Gyuzo Hormone Jeongol," featuring 80 cm long domestic beef hormone. It’s super long! You cut the hormone into pieces in the pot, adding bean sprouts, tteokbokki, cabbage, and kimchi to cook together. It’s slightly spicy, making it very appetizing.
For the "final fried rice," they put rice mixed with tobiko into the hormone pan’s sauce and fry it. You can enjoy the poppy texture of the tobiko in the fried rice.
There are counter seats, table seats in the basement, and separate rooms; if you're in a group, the basement or separated rooms might be a good choice for a relaxing time. It seems you can access the separate room without going outside the restaurant.

It was a casual course priced at 5,000 yen, including all-you-can-drink, and even so, the portions were generous and the drink menu was extensive. The beef guts hot pot was delicious every time, and the fried rice made with its broth was incredibly tasty as well. The staff's service has always been exceptional at this restaurant.

I made a last-minute reservation and visited the restaurant after work. The interior was designed like a cave, which was exciting as I moved through the space. The restaurant gradually filled up, with a slightly older crowd. It was an environment where I could enjoy "adult Korean cuisine." The fatty parts of the meat were sweet and easy to eat without feeling heavy. The richness and flavor were outstanding. The fried rice to finish was excellent too!

**Yamamoto Gyuuzou Kagurazaka** – Tabelog 3.25 (November 22, 2024)
My eldest daughter will start working in Tokyo next year, so we came to look for a place to live. Since we'll be visiting real estate agents from early tomorrow, we decided to fuel up with some Gyuzou hormone chonggol.
* The special miso sauce based on gochujang and the small intestine hormone were incredibly delicious!
* It came with plenty of vegetables, and to finish off, we had the tobiko fried rice, which was delightfully crunchy and tasty!
* For dessert, we enjoyed a cute, wobbly almond tofu – it looked too adorable to eat, but I cut into it and ended up eating it anyway!
* It was all so delicious! There was also an entertaining aspect to the dining experience, making it fun to eat and enjoy the food, so I couldn't ask for more! I left feeling completely full. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

The samgyeopsal was voluminous and juicy! The kimchi and assorted namul came out quickly, and the balance of flavors was excellent. The almond tofu was in the shape of a cat, which was adorable! The makgeolli sangria was a first for me, but it was delicious and had plenty of fruit, which made me happy.

I ordered the "Beef Intestine Hormone Chon-gol ★ Standard Course," which includes a total of 7 dishes and a 120-minute all-you-can-drink option. The course included a Choregi salad, grilled Yukhoe, braised beef tendon, Japchae, bossam, beef intestine Chon-gol, and fried rice to finish. The portion was quite large for one person. I also had six drinks from the all-you-can-drink menu, so I got a little tipsy! Thank you for the meal!

The atmosphere of the room and the service were both excellent. The meals were all fresh and delicious, and I was very satisfied. Despite the great taste and attentive service, the prices were very reasonable, which made me even happier. I definitely want to visit this restaurant again.

I used this restaurant for a gathering with friends. Starting with the famous Gyuzou Hormone Chon-gol, all the dishes were very delicious. The staff was also quick and helpful, and they were very kind and attentive during our conversations while preparing the hotpot. It's definitely a place I want to visit again.

The original cheese dakgalbi restaurant in Kagurazaka offers a fantastic cost-performance with a meal for two costing around 6000 yen. The cheese dakgalbi is served with a generous portion of steamed egg (gyeran jjim), making it a filling dish. #Kagurazaka #Iidabashi #KoreanCuisine #CostPerformance #CheeseDakgalbi

Just a 3-minute walk from Kagurazaka Station, a beloved Korean restaurant from Azabu-Juban has opened in Kagurazaka! I ordered one of the two signature dishes, the “Hormone Chon Gol”! It's a Korean-style hot pot made with 80 cm of black wagyu hormone! They cook it up right in front of you in a grand style! The dishes are made with homemade flavors, and they even make their own dipping sauce for the chijimi! The restaurant has both counter and table seating, creating a stylish atmosphere! It seems perfect for dates, gatherings, or business meetings! Some menu items include:
- Beef Hormone Chon Gol (for 2-3 people) ¥3980
- Tobikko Fried Rice Set ¥780
- Seafood and Chive Chijimi ¥1480
- Grilled Liver ¥980
- Seared Yukhoe ¥1680
I enjoyed the meal very much!

I had the beef offal hot pot! While the staff were preparing it, the flames flared up, making it an exciting dish to watch! They used domestic miso, and it wasn't too spicy, making it easy for Japanese people to enjoy. Next time, I plan to try the cheese dakgalbi.

First of all, the inside of the restaurant is stylish! It had a modern retro vibe typical of Korea, and the atmosphere was great. The food was delicious and quite filling as well. I was also happy to see that they offered fresh makgeolli in the all-you-can-drink option. It's a bit of a walk from Iidabashi Station, but I think it's a place I can recommend for a girls' night out or a date.

We visited the restaurant on a Thursday night with four people. I thought the place would be cramped, but as we went further back, we discovered a larger room with several tables. My companions highly recommended the grilled liver, which was lightly seared on a dedicated grill. It was very fresh! I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys raw meat!

The entire beef "shimacho" is grilled whole, and with an alcohol flambé, it's an impressive performance featuring delicious organ meats. The finishing touch with "tobikko" rice is particularly popping and fragrant. The liver is also very fresh and thickly sliced, which is fantastic. The entertainment aspect is strong, and the cost-performance is excellent. The service is wonderful as well. However, since the flavors can become monotonous, a bit of creativity in how to eat it might be necessary. Overall, it was a very enjoyable restaurant experience. Thank you for the meal!

I visited Yamamoto Gyuzou's Kagurazaka branch in Azabu-Juban! The portion sizes, taste, and cost performance are all top-notch! The all-you-can-drink option for 7,000 yen is an amazing deal! The main dish, hormone chonggol, is prepared right in front of you, and the presentation is impressive! It's not only visually stunning but also incredibly delicious, and I finished off with the tasty tobiko fried rice! It's great for enjoying with friends and is also suitable for a casual date. Thank you for the meal!

I often visit restaurants in Azabu-Juban, but today I had something to do near Iidabashi, so I came here. The interior is mainly a counter-style setup. Since it's a new place, the space is clean, and being at the counter allows for closer interactions with the staff. The attention to detail in service was more thoughtful than in Azabu-Juban, and the hospitality was very polite. I definitely want to come back!

On a weekday just after 9 AM in Kagurazaka, I wandered around searching for a restaurant. One place caught my eye with its appealing exterior and atmosphere, so I decided to go in. The recommendations were Hormone Chon-gol and Cheese Dakgalbi. I had never heard the name "Chon-gol" before, but the pictures looked delicious, so I ordered a few other dishes as well. I learned that Chon-gol means "hot pot."
First, large cuts of black wagyu beef, specifically shima chō, were stir-fried right in front of me on the grill, then flambéed with shochu before being simmered. The pot included cabbage, onions, green onion, and tteokbokki, finished off with a sweet and spicy sauce. I chose level 1 for the spiciness, which is mild. Even so, I think it would be the limit for someone who struggles with spiciness. The flavor was delicious but didn't have any especially surprising elements.
The grilled liver, cholegi salad, and bean sprout namul were all tasty as well. Lastly, I ordered fried rice made with the leftover broth from the hot pot, which was also very good. Overall, it was a restaurant that offered flavorful food and excellent service, making me feel quite satisfied.

We visited the restaurant with two people. Since it recently opened, the interior was very nice. With two people, we were seated at the counter, and we couldn't choose our seats when making the reservation. Watching the food being prepared right in front of us made us want to order the yukhoe (raw beef). We decided to order a combination of kimchi, senmai sashimi (beef tripe), and cheese tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes). The tteokbokki spice level can be adjusted. We were satisfied with the normal spice level, but those who enjoy spicier food might want to add more.

I visited this newly opened restaurant right away. Since there aren't many Korean restaurants on the main street of Kagurazaka, I was excited to try it out! This time, I ordered a set course with all-you-can-drink. Everything was really delicious! The main dish, the hormone (intestines), used Japan's high-quality black Wagyu beef, which was rich in fat, resembling a Korean-style hot pot. The beef tendon was also quite fatty, so those who are not used to rich dishes might want to be cautious. Next time, I want to try some dishes that weren't included in the course menu.

The decor of the restaurant is quite stylish. It's not a shabby place, and there are a lot of women dining here. The most popular course is the 6,000 yen hot pot course, and everything I tried was delicious. It's a mystery why the restaurant has a mediocre rating on Tabelog. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food, and the all-you-can-drink option was great, with a wide variety of drinks that really got me to keep drinking. I was happy that beer was included in the all-you-can-drink selection. While the portions didn't feel particularly large, I ended up feeling full, and I think it's better to have a smaller quantity of tasty food than a big quantity of something that's not good. I felt satisfied enough to consider upgrading to a higher-level course next time.

I ordered cheese tteokbokki. I added green chili peppers, but it wasn't particularly spicy; the spice only kicked in a little when I ate the green chili. I think the normal version is not spicy at all. As for the appetizer kimchi, I didn't feel any spiciness, just acidity and sweetness.
