I received a cheeseburger as a gift from a family member. It seems like the shop is only open on weekends. The bun tasted like the white bread from Heidi or the nostalgic flavor from school lunches. The patty was spicy, and the cheese seemed to be cheddar, with an orange color. The juicy tomato added a nice balance. It was delicious and I enjoyed it. Thank you very much.

Located in the mountains that lead to the Bankei area of the Imperial Forest, this bakery is open only on weekends. After enjoying delicious yakiniku at a nearby restaurant, I finally visited this place that had caught my eye. The shop is housed in a cabin-like building with a small parking area for a few cars. Inside, there is a cozy atmosphere with a variety of breads on display. Some items were sold out as it was past lunchtime, but everything looked delicious. I bought several types of bread to enjoy at home, and each one had a great wheat flavor and was delicious. The prices were reasonable, and there were many types of bread that suited my taste, so I definitely want to visit again and try something different.

The restaurant is open only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. There are two parking spaces next to it. There was one customer ahead of me and one behind me. The Campania bucket for 330 yen is a perfect match with curry and anchovy garlic. The flavors complement each other well. The Coconut bread for 230 yen has a unique coconut flavor, but the bread itself is not to my liking. However, the pricing is reasonable.

During the Bon festival in August, I visited a cemetery in Bankei to pay respects to my aunt. My mother's younger sister passed away five years ago from pancreatic cancer. When the cancer was discovered, she was already in Stage IV and given only three months to live, but she chose not to undergo chemotherapy and fought on with palliative care for a year and a half. We chatted in front of her grave, reminiscing about the past, and said our goodbyes until next year. On the way back, we stumbled upon this shop and bought four snacks for a pre-lunch treat. The "Bacon Cheese" was delicious with plenty of cheese. My mother enjoyed the "Apple Cinnamon Raisin," likening it to apple pie. The "White Burger" had a fluffy white bun with a juicy beef patty and fresh vegetables. The "Melon Pan" was light and mildly sweet. I look forward to visiting "117" again in the future. Thank you for the meal!

I found this bakery in the forest of the palace on Tabelog and decided to stop by to buy some square bread this time. The building, filled with a wooden, homey atmosphere, was easy to spot right away. There were parking spaces for two cars available. Upon entering the store, I was surrounded by a simple and rustic atmosphere, which was enhanced by the wooden structure. Although there were not many types of sweet bread and savory bread, there was a wide variety of simple bread such as square bread, baguettes, and buns. I purchased two premium square breads, buns, baguettes, cream puffs, and honey butter bread. I had one of the premium square breads for breakfast. It was made with whole wheat flour and didn't contain sugar or cream, so it had a subtle sweetness and a direct taste of the fragrant whole wheat flour. It was made with simple ingredients, and I could really feel the concept and dedication of the store. As someone who wants to be a little conscious about health, it was easy to buy and delicious to eat. Many other breads also used whole wheat flour, and I would like to try various kinds when I stop by again.

I walked for about 90 minutes from my home and finally arrived at Miyanomori Bread117. The fig bread was amazing, with the perfect balance of sweetness and flavor. It goes well with bananas or cream cheese. The country bread is simple but pairs well with any dish, especially tomato dishes or turnip potage. The homemade sweet summer orange jam is delicious. The Primar cream cheese is smooth and versatile, with a mild acidity that enhances the flavor. And to my surprise, the chef also served a special KARAAGE dish made with Japanese chicken and a fruity sauce. The crispy outside and juicy inside make it a hit, especially with its curry flavor. Improve your Stay Home skills with delicious bread!

In the past, I posted about a bakery near Miyanomori Junior High School, beyond Maruyama Park. They have a winter limited edition apple bread that is not only cute in appearance but also has a salty core and a tart-like texture inside, which makes it delicious.

On a certain holiday, I revisited a bakery in the Miyano Mori area that I had tried to visit last week but found it closed for the day. The parking lot can accommodate about 2-3 cars. Upon arrival, the large log house surrounded by trees caught my attention - it seemed like a residence as well? Passing through the lovely garden, I entered the shop. The interior wasn't very spacious, but it was enough to display the bread, and I immediately felt excited seeing the unique and original bread on display. From the menu that day, I chose a few items that caught my eye on the shelf.
First, the "An Butter France (250 yen)" surprised me with its authentic French bread dough - the crispy texture and rich butter alongside the delicious red bean paste were a perfect combination. Next, the "Makana (230 yen)" intrigued me with just its name. The hard bread dough had a rich wheat flavor, but then I was surprised by the taste of cheese and a hint of wasabi - definitely a unique bread. The "Summer Limited Lemon Bread (220 yen)" had lemon slices on top of the white bread dough, and the cream with the sourness of the lemon was refreshing. Lastly, the "Choco Berry (190 yen)" recommended by the shop turned out to be a unique combination of berry fruit, cheese flavor, and sugar crystals on top of what seemed like brown sugar bread dough.
Despite the temporary closure, I'm glad I visited the bakery again and enjoyed these interesting and delicious bread. Thank you for the feast.

[First Visit on May 4, 2018] I visited the bakery La Fontaine de Lourdes for the first time and finished tasting the bread in the car. It was around 10:10 a.m. Initially, the bakery I found while working in Miyanomori opens at 11 a.m. regardless of the day, so it was too early to go straight there. So, I decided to kill time by visiting a gardening shop I found in Asahigaoka while working, called "Garden Shop sora." As I strolled through the stylish garden, it was almost time, so I headed to the second bakery of the day, "Miyano Mori Bread 117." The name is easy to understand because it is located in Miyanomori 1-17. (laughs) This shop is located behind the Chinese restaurant "Miyanomori Renge-do," where I visited a couple of times about 10 years ago. Although I didn't take a photo of the entire store (photo provided by my wife), the building, which looks like an old folk house or a mountain hut, seems to be a residence as well, blending in nicely with the surrounding trees. By the way, it seems that they are celebrating their 5th anniversary this year. Similar to La Fontaine de Lourdes, they mainly use natural yeast to make bread, with some bread made using the "Shirakami Kodama yeast" discovered in the Shirakami mountains and others using homemade yeast. They use free-range fertilized eggs from "Uni Farm" in Yuni-cho, Hokkaido, locally produced wheat flour, and Canadian flour depending on the type of bread. I purchased five types of bread with their commitment in mind and tried the limited-time curry bread and melon bread in the car. The bread I ate right away and the one I ate at home the next day both had a gentle flavor, different from the curry bread or melon bread sold in convenience stores, and were delicious. Compared to La Fontaine de Lourdes, Miyano Mori Bread 117 has a more homely and warm atmosphere. I stopped by this shop on my way back after watching ski jumping at the Miyanomori Ski Jump Stadium. I noticed the shop because of the "bread" flag, otherwise I might have passed by. Inside the shop, they were selling not only bread but also soup. I wanted to have some warm soup, but there didn't seem to be any seating area, so I gave up. Cream Pan (100 yen) A cute-sized cream pan with a restrained sweetness. Dark Cherry Chocolat (220 yen) Chocolate cream topped with dark cherries. A chocolat using chocolate cream with a reduced sweetness. Cream Cheese Orange (200 yen) Cream cheese topped with sliced oranges. A delicious bread with the acidity of the oranges as an accent.

I visited "Renge-Do," a beloved Chinese restaurant, around 1 PM on a regular day. Located on the way to the Miyano Mori ski jump hill, you need to turn left at the traffic light and go down a slope to reach this hidden gem in a quiet residential area. The restaurant is a charming house covered in ivy, with a narrow storefront that may be hard to spot without a sign. Inside, there are bread and vegetables on display, and the staff consists of a young man and woman. I bought a "baguette" (a must) and a "raisin bread," as well as another bread whose name I don't know. When I had them for dinner, the baguette was ordinary, nothing special. The raisin bread was okay. As for the nameless bread, it was my favorite - it had a hint of orange jam inside, the dough was soft and delicious. I will definitely go back to buy more.

It was a bakery shop that blended into the natural scenery. Buying bread in such a natural setting somehow makes it look more delicious. When I entered the store, I was surprised to see a young man who seemed to be the owner. He had a good impression and I was able to take my time choosing bread inside the shop. When I picked up the bread with tongs, it felt quite heavy and had a dense texture. When I tried it, some bread had a dense and moist texture, while others were a bit dry. Soy milk bread - 60 yen: It had a moist texture, but the ingredients seemed good and it had a nice flavor. Hakuto (bread shaped like a cube) - 60 yen: It was like a square-shaped loaf, a bit dry but tasted delicious. Lemon bread - 160 yen: Homemade lemon curd was used, and I enjoyed the lemon flavor. Rustic bread - 230 yen reduced to 150 yen (discounted from the previous day): It had various beans in it. I could sense the simplicity, quality of ingredients, and dedication, but it still felt a bit rough around the edges. This bakery shop shows promise and I look forward to visiting again. ☆☆☆ Next time on preview ☆☆☆ I liked the atmosphere of the bakery surrounded by nature, so I will definitely come back.

This place is located in Miyanomori 1-17, Chuo-ku, but it can be quite difficult to explain, so it's best to check the map on Tabelog or use a navigation system. I visited two new restaurants in the same area that I read about in a magazine and will review them both. First, I went to this bakery. It was hard to find, but I managed to locate it next to a building. Inside, they mainly sold soft bread, especially a variety of sweet and savory pastries. The bread was on the smaller side compared to what I'm used to. I bought a "melon bread," a "half-sized rum raisin roll," and a "tomato bread." I then went to my usual bakery to enjoy the pastries. The rum raisin roll had a lot of raisins and a strong rum syrup flavor, making it a good choice for adults. The tomato bread had a distinct tomato flavor, perfect for tomato lovers. The prices were a bit high for the size of the bread, making it a bit expensive for everyday consumption.

I went to Miyanomori Bread 117. It is quite deep in Miyanomori, behind Renge-do. It seems like it would be difficult to go there in winter. There were about two parking spaces. At first glance, it doesn't look like a bakery, it's a combination of a home and a shop. The bread is made with natural yeast. ★ Cream bread (100 yen) It was small and the cream was firm with plenty of vanilla beans, giving it a rich flavor. ★ Grape bread made with natural yeast (200 yen) It was a dense and heavy bread. The aroma of yeast was faint. This time, I went around 3 pm on a weekday, so there were few bread left. I would like to go when there are many bread displayed earlier. It seems that they raised prices from April, with an increase of about 10 yen on the old price list. They also have irregular holidays, so it's better to check their Facebook page before going!

I wanted to buy bread at a new bakery on my way back home, so I stopped by Miyanomori Bread 117. The location is right behind Renge-do. It was snowing heavily, so I ended up circling around, but the building looks cute without snow. The inside of the shop allows photography. There are various small bread loaves lined up. I bought a few different kinds. The most delicious one was the orange bread. The honey bread was also tasty. When lightly warmed up, they become soft and chewy. I quite liked the taste of these breads.

In December 2013, Miyanomori Bread 117 was established earlier this summer. The store is located behind the popular Chinese restaurant "Miyanomori Renge-do." It is a hidden gem of a bakery, tucked away in a slightly secluded location. I visited with my usual companion after having lunch nearby. This bakery is located in the Miyanomori area of Chuo Ward, Sapporo, just a little uphill from Miyanomori Junior High School. For the exact location, please check on Tabelog. I visited on a weekday afternoon. I parked my car in the parking space next to the store. The store is a wooden building with a stylish Japanese cafe vibe. The interior is compact. They offer natural yeast bread, with many using the popular "Shirakami Kodama Yeast." There are daily regular breads and limited edition breads available on certain days of the week. They seem to have more soft bread options. I mainly purchased hard breads.
- Country Bread (Limited on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays)
Using local wheat 100%.
The surface is hard, while the inside is chewy. It has a strong bread texture. When you bite into it, you can taste the deliciousness. The inside dough has a color similar to rye bread, maybe due to the yeast used. Small size for 370 yen.
- Natural Yeast Baguette (Limited on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays)
Using local wheat 100%.
The surface is hard, while the inside is chewy. The surface has a crispy texture. It has a strong bread texture. When you bite into it, you can taste the deliciousness. The inside dough has a color similar to rye bread, maybe due to the yeast used. Half size for 210 yen.
- Chocolate Orange (Available daily)
Using Shirakami Kodama Yeast.
A cocoa dough bread with chocolate pieces and orange peel inside. The sweetness of chocolate is balanced by the orange peel. A sophisticated chocolate bread for 170 yen each. The taste becomes stronger as you chew, typical of natural yeast bread. Personally, I liked the "Country Bread" the most. The breads are on the smaller side and slightly on the pricier end, but it's reasonable for this area. They also offer a "100% Rye" bread irregularly, which I am very curious about. There was a shop card for "Cafe Eclat Yue" in the store. They are known for their delicious parfait without cornflakes. I mentioned this to the staff, and it turns out they are cousins with someone from that cafe. They were very happy to hear that their parfait is delicious. The store is usually closed on Saturdays and Sundays, but they may have some open days. It's best to check their website before visiting. I look forward to trying the "100% Rye" bread next time. It seems promising. Thank you for the delicious meal.
