Located in Yao, Osaka, just a short walk from JR Shiki Station, is a new izakaya that opened on May 31 this year, specializing in chicken dishes such as grilled chicken and chicken hot pot. The chicken "Chiritori Nabe" for two people is priced at 1,980 yen and can be ordered for a minimum of two servings. This pot is filled with vegetables like bean sprouts, onions, and garlic chives, along with a generous portion of chicken cuts such as harami and seseri. It features a slightly spicy sauce that perfectly complements the meat and vegetables, making it incredibly delicious. The depth of flavor makes it easy to enjoy with a drink. Packed with vegetables, it offers a great nutritional balance, and at this quantity for around 2,000 yen, it feels like a fantastic deal.
The assorted grilled meats (5 types) is priced at 1,580 yen and varies by day. On this occasion, it included thigh meat, heart, gizzard, harami, and yagen nankotsu (cartilage). The meat is beautifully shiny, and grilling it over charcoal brings out the perfect amount of fat. It tastes amazing with either the dipping sauce or salt. There is also a 7-item option for 1,980 yen, which I recommend for those who want to indulge more.
For drinks, premium draft beer is available for 390 yen, while Beam highball and Suikei gin soda are just 290 yen, making them very affordable. There's also an option for a mega highball for an extra 200 yen, which is a big plus for drink lovers. The drinks are made with strong carbonation and a good alcohol content, ensuring a pleasant drinking experience.
The interior has around 15 counter seats and two 4-person tables, and the air conditioning is well-maintained, allowing for a comfortable meal even in the summer. It's just a 1.2-minute walk from Shiki Station along Route 25, making it an easy place to visit. With both grilled items and hot pot available, it can be hard to choose what to order, but I highly recommend trying both!
