On a certain weekday, I visited a cafe located in Chuo-ku, Minami 14-jo Nishi 16-chome, where a vocational support and care facility are combined. The parking lot is available at the facility's parking area. The interior of the cafe is surprisingly spacious with a view of a small park from the window, creating a pleasant atmosphere with 8 tables. The menu for the day included various options such as udon, soba, curry rice, pasta, toast, and desserts. Since it was a hot day, I decided to try the "cold bukkake udon set (600 yen)" with an iced coffee. The udon was firm and well-cooked, served in a refreshing cold broth. Adding the grated ginger enhanced the flavor nicely. The toppings included tempura bits, chopped seaweed, green onions, and a soft-boiled egg. The iced coffee arrived promptly and was a perfect way to finish the meal. I noticed a few regular customers during my visit and suggested adding a daily special menu item to keep them coming back. Located at Minami 14 Nishi 16 in Sapporo, this cafe is attached to a facility called "Horonishi Ho-on." It is a facility that provides life support and employment support services. Despite being in the neighborhood, this was my first visit as their operating hours didn't match with my schedule. I entered around 12:30 and found many customers already there. In addition to coffee and cake options, they had a surprisingly wide range of light meals such as spaghetti, toast, various soba, udon, and curry. I ordered the cold soba noodles with a drink included, which seemed like a limited menu item. The drink was iced coffee. Before the meal arrived, I was served the soba noodles with a soft-boiled egg in the center, finely chopped green onions, small pieces of fried batter, and plenty of chopped seaweed on top. The colors were appetizing. The soba noodles were slightly thin, cold, and smooth. I mixed them with green onions, fried batter, seaweed, and then with the soft-boiled egg. Additionally, I received a cucumber vinegar appetizer as a service, which was refreshing and delightful. This soba dish was perfect for a hot day, with a good portion size and a drink included, making it quite a good deal. I believe this restaurant will become more popular in the future. When you pass through the mini promenade that is accessible from both sides of the parking lot, you will find Cafe Sumire. The entrance may be a bit hard to spot, as it is made of glass and may cause some confusion, but once you remember it, it should not be a problem. The one-coin soba with a drink set, featuring moon-viewing soba, is like a meal from a regular restaurant. The moon-viewing soba has a raw egg that gradually turns transparent white, creating an interesting visual. The soba noodles, which seem dry, are cooked just right with a good firmness, making them more delicious than those from shops with soft noodles. Mixing the moon-viewing egg yolk with the soba and dipping it in the broth also tastes great. The hot coffee, brewed using a paper drip method, has a strong bitterness and a slight acidity. It may be a bit different from personal preferences, but it becomes easy to drink with sugar and milk. The whole staff conveys a sense of dedication. The supporting staff are also very lovely, making it a place where you feel like cheering them on. There was a beautiful building at 14 South 16 West that caught my eye, and I thought it was a nursing home, but it turned out to be a part of a nursing facility with a spacious café. It still looks very new and clean. I tried the curry and soba set (half size but still generous) with coffee included, and it was really delicious!! The curry was also tasty. The staff were friendly and there was nothing to complain about! The cost performance is good, but I wonder how it would be for someone like Mr. Moneybags from KEIPON?
