To Hokkaido locals, isn't shabu-shabu made with lamb meat? I love lamb shabu-shabu, so whenever I go to a hot pot restaurant, I always feel like ordering lamb meat. Today, with the snow piling up and the cold weather, I decided to go to a shabu-shabu restaurant called "Hokkai Shabu-Shabu". I had been to their Susukino branch before and it was delicious, so I decided to go back. This time, I went to the one near Sapporo Station. I made a reservation for 8:30 pm on a weekday, and the restaurant was quite busy! It seemed like they had a lot of reservations. It seems like making a reservation is a good idea even on weekdays during this season. Today, I had the all-you-can-eat lamb meat and premium pork course with classic drink all-you-can for 3900 yen on Hot Pepper. First, I toasted with the classic drink - it was nicely chilled. Oh, it's delicious. As for the meat... the lamb meat had no gamey taste, was easy to eat, and sweet. The pork had a nice amount of fat that melted... so delicious!!! I was happy to be able to eat this quality of meat all-you-can-eat. However, when I asked for a refill, they brought out a lot (laughs). The amount they brought out the first time was already a lot, but they brought out the same amount for the refill. So, I only got one refill (laughs). Oh, when it comes to lamb meat, it's perfect with salted rice. The rice with a strong salt flavor paired perfectly with the lamb meat. I'm usually the type to not eat rice when I drink, but I finished it all. I also made sure to eat the ramen at the end, but I was already so full. Oh, and the waitress was very friendly and provided great service. Even though she was young, she was thoughtful, cheerful, and it was nice. This kind of service is also a key point related to the deliciousness of the meal.
