On August 8, 2015, my wife came to pick me up at the station in Hokkaido after her first visit. On the way back home, we noticed a new Lawson convenience store had opened in the town of Nagayama. The store had just opened the day before and was holding some kind of event outside. They were even selling food from a local restaurant called Torinoya, but unfortunately, we were too late to try it. There was also a large mascot of Ponta outside the store, and many families were taking pictures with it. Inside the store, they had discounts on bento boxes and other items for the grand opening. We decided to buy some food for dinner, including okonomiyaki, takoyaki, and a large karaage-kun. When we got home and tried the food, the okonomiyaki was quite tasty, but the takoyaki was a bit too powdery. The karaage-kun was decent. Lawson always seems to have interesting items and promotions, making it a fun place to visit. It will be interesting to see how it competes with Seven-Eleven in the area. Overall, the food was delicious!
