I found it while searching for stores around Shimomatsu Station. It is located across from Green Spot, which offers delicious pork cutlet curry, but was there such a place? I walked along the road in front of the store, feeling a bit lost, and when I opened the door and entered, there was a narrow hallway with shelves displaying magazines and small items. At the end of the hallway, there was a middle door, and jazz music could be heard playing at a reasonable volume when I opened it. I mentioned that I visited with a friend and we sat at the counter seats. The atmosphere inside the store, with a grand piano and a dimly lit interior illuminated by incandescent light bulbs, felt like a jazz café. I had expected a man to be running the place based on the decorations in the hallway and the music playing, but all the staff were women. There were three groups of customers, mostly women, and the reason women gather at such a chic and popular place may be because it was featured in POROCO's café book. The female customers at the counter seemed to be regulars, chatting with the young female staff. The menu prominently featured coffee, indicating that it is a café known for its coffee. The food menu consisted of sandwiches, toast, and pizza toast, with only three options. I ordered the mixed sandwich and a Mandheling coffee for dessert. I like coffee, but I don't enjoy drinking it with a meal, so I prefer to enjoy them separately. The sandwich that came out had pickles of paprika, baby corn, and cherry tomatoes. The fruit sandwich had a subtle sweetness from the whipped cream, and the acidity of the strawberries and kiwi fruits spread in my mouth, but with four pieces, it seemed like I could get tired of it. The pork cutlet sandwich had a nice salty taste that was unique to the thick pork cutlet, and I realized that Japanese people love salty foods. The pickles, which appeared to be homemade, were light and delicious. The Mandheling coffee served after the meal was poured generously into a large cup, which made me happy. The lingering aroma unique to dark roasted coffee was irresistible. Enjoying coffee leisurely while listening to jazz was a blissful moment, and although the café was mostly filled with female customers, they did not seem to be seeking Instagrammable moments, but rather enjoying the ambiance. I had been curious about the source of the music from the beginning, and even though I looked in the direction of the sound, there were no speakers like BOSE, only a mini component system. However, the speakers of that mini component system had a depth of about 30cm, clearly different from the typical mini component systems. When I asked the young female staff about the brand of the mini component system during payment, she said it was made by Victor. Another female staff member mentioned that it was not a model sold in retail stores, but a special one sold at exhibitions. In other words, they were able to purchase it as a result of encountering such an opportunity, making it a good purchase. The quality of the sound, which spread in a way that was not typical of a mini component system, was due to its design using cherry wood to allow the sound to spread 360 degrees. When I searched for it at home, I found it. It's enviable to have the environment to make use of it even after being able to purchase it. That mini component system is this.

I visited the cafe after 1 pm on a holiday, a 5-minute walk from Shimamatsu Station on the JR Chitose Line. They have special menu days in addition to their regular menu, so it's recommended to check their social media. On this day, it was a special menu day. The interior of the cafe is small with 6 counter seats and 2 table seats. It's quiet but not uncomfortably so, creating a relaxing atmosphere. When I walked in, I immediately thought it was nice. There were 4 groups of customers before me and 2 after me. I had the Chocolate Mont Blanc (¥700) and tea (¥350). Food and dessert can be ordered with a drink for an additional ¥350. My friend had the Croissant Sandwich (¥820) and coffee (¥350). The Chocolate Mont Blanc had a moist chocolate pound cake base with plenty of chocolate cream on top. It was rich but not too sweet, making it easy to eat. The berry sauce added a hint of acidity and the texture of the walnuts was a nice touch. The Croissant Sandwich was a limited menu item, limited to 6 servings per day. It came with a cold soup, potato salad, and tomato compote. It was my first time there but I felt very comfortable, and the staff were kind. I would definitely visit again if it were nearby. It's a cafe I want to go back to!

I wanted to visit Anzu that I saw on Instagram. Since there is no parking, I parked at Shimamatsu Station parking lot and walked there. I saw a small and cute shop. The owner guided me inside to a seat at the back. I ordered a sandwich and a blended coffee set and waited while looking around the shop. And here it comes - the milk container for the coffee has a cat design! The sandwich and coffee were very delicious, it's a cozy cafe. When I showed my parking card, they gave me a ¥100 discount. I definitely want to go back again.

By the time the cake arrived, I had finished my coffee, so I asked for a refill. The generous amount of coffee in another beautiful cup made me happy. The pumpkin cake had a subtle cinnamon flavor that was elegant and delicious. Since it was a weekday, the local customers seemed to be enjoying chatting with each other. I imagine that on weekends, young café enthusiasts from afar come to visit. The two young women running the café were very friendly, and it seems like the café will be loved by the local older customers as well. Both this café and the recently visited Pizzeria Passione in Shimamatsu seem to be run by young people who are doing their best. I would like to visit this café from time to time.

Although not mentioned, there are also sofa seats available. The cheesecake is rich and delicious, making you want to have more. The cafe au lait has a strong coffee flavor. The lemon squash is refreshing with a strong lemon taste. The pottery used is also cute and carefully selected.

The cheesecake was a perfect combination of vanilla ice cream, plenty of sweet strawberries, and pistachios - only the things I like. The seating in the back, like a semi-private room, was a very relaxing space, and I was able to make progress in reading while slowly sipping coffee. The staff at the shop were also very kind, making it a comfortable place to be. There is no parking at the shop, but if you park at the Shimmatsu station coin parking, you can get a ¥100 discount.

Before the meal, I decided to visit that newly opened cafe for reconnaissance purposes. It was surprising to find out that it is pronounced as "Kou" and not "An" or "Anzu". I had seen the opening information on Instagram before the store was registered on Tabelog, but I kept postponing my visit as usual. The cafe is dimly lit but has a pleasant BGM, which makes it very relaxing. I had planned to spend my time with cake and a drink, but when I looked at the menu, I found out that sandwiches were now available. So, I changed my plans and decided to have lunch at "Kou". I ordered "Fruit Sandwich x Char Siu Sandwich x 2 each (¥750)" with a set of "Guatemala (Set ¥350)" and for dessert, I had the "Lemon Cake (¥600)"! It's really nice that they offer menus for comparison! After 10 minutes, the food was served. The bread was of medium thickness, not dry, and had a fluffy texture. It had a light sweetness which was nice. The char siu sandwich had meat with a good texture, not too tough with just the right amount of tenderness, and when you chew, the refreshing pre-seasoned taste of the meat and the fragrant sesame dressing spread all over your mouth! It seemed to have a hint of spiciness, probably from the mustard. The crispy lettuce added a nice accent! The fruit sandwich had strawberries, kiwi, peaches, and oranges. The whipped cream had a milky taste that didn't feel oily or too sweet, allowing you to enjoy the fresh taste and sweetness of the fruits. It was juicy, had a good bite, and the cream wasn't too heavy, making it seem like you could eat as many as you wanted! As for the dessert, I was expecting something round like at "N***la" but it was different. It had a lemon-flavored dough with icing and pistachios on top. The sourness of the lemon, the sweetness of the icing, and the sugar all complemented each other beautifully! It had a crumbly texture that was easy to cut with a fork, and the crispy icing was a nice touch! The sweetness of the honey wasn't overpowering, and the whole slice of lemon was delicious. The bubbly cream had a refreshing flavor and a smooth texture! I ended up spending more money than usual, but the satisfaction was beyond that. It's nice to have a meal at a cafe, not just cake and drinks. I hope it becomes even more popular in the future! Thank you for the meal.

When you order food or dessert, you can choose a set drink, and I opted for Mandelin, which had a slight acidity but was strong. The atmosphere inside the cafe was quiet and dimly lit with jazz music playing, creating a very nice ambiance. There were plenty of books to read freely. The two female staff members seemed experienced and efficient, and I somehow felt like they had relocated from somewhere else, but it turns out they are new to running the place. I visited this cafe for the first time. I never expected to find a cafe in such a place! Upon opening the entrance of the old folk house and entering inside, there is a shop at the end of a long corridor. The dimness inside the shop creates a great atmosphere, and the jazz BGM is also nice. There are candles lit on the tables. It's so lovely. For an additional 350 yen, you can add a drink to your cake. I chose the chocolate Mont Blanc with hot black tea. My mother had the cheesecake with blended coffee. The Mont Blanc, being such a delicate item on the regular menu, is amazing! The cheesecake is also stylish and cute. I had a taste of both and they were delicious! The hot black tea came in a generous pot, enough for 2-3 cups. The tableware is also very nice. From the appearance to the interior, the decor, and the food and drinks, everything is beautiful. The cafe is filled with the owner's dedication and it was a very wonderful place. Despite being such a stylish cafe, there is a relaxed atmosphere for some reason. I had a brief chat with the young owner, who was very friendly. I would like to invite my friends and visit again!

I usually drink hot black coffee, so I'm not sure why I went for something different this time. It was incredibly sweet, and I could hardly drink it. I'm sure it would be delicious for those who like sweet things, but I'm sorry, it wasn't for me. My friend had a homemade lemon squash, which had a nostalgic taste and she enjoyed it. We had a relaxing time chatting quietly in this wonderful atmosphere. I definitely want to come back next time to try their coffee. It said at the entrance, "Please park at the station," for the parking situation.
