This is a famous restaurant that I have been visiting many times since I moved to Sumikawa. Everything I eat is delicious, they have a great selection of sake that I like, it's perfect. You can come alone without any hesitation, and it's a place where you can show off when you bring someone else. The owner is a bit clumsy, but it's Sumikawa's number one.

Welcome! ┌¬o"* * * 2015.10 ↓ After the old man's shop, it's the son's shop |o| °д°)ノ|ЮGachon From Kavachon to (= ´∀´)ノ凵゛ Let's start with the Shishamo Nanbanzuke, this goes well with sake, right? Next time, don't put too much foam on the dashippe. When you come to Koseki, you have to order the sashimi platter. "Boiled shrimp, homemade marinated mackerel, yellowtail, salmon, octopus legs" If it's boiled, Tom is the only one who doubts the freshness... The octopus' texture combined with the richness of the salmon and yellowtail is delicious!! The mackerel has a nice acidity to it. The grilled dumplings are served with homemade sauce. Juicy and flavorful! It feels like it used to have more impact before, but maybe that's just me. Seafood ajillo is next - octopus, small shrimp, clams, with a lot of garlic for a strong impact! The fluffy bread soaks up the strong garlic and chili pepper flavors. I dipped about 1.5 pieces of bread and it became quite oily. Well, that's to be expected. I ordered all four types of fruit liquor. The super-rich yogurt must have about ten times more bifidobacteria than regular yogurt. The table at the back didn't have good air conditioning, maybe because there were no windows. It's rare to find a restaurant that can beat the old man in taste, but this place serves delicious food, thank you for the meal. ------------- タ ---- ニ ---- オ ---- リ ----------------* * * 2015.05 ↓ In Sumikawa, Minami Ward, behind Sumikawa Station, there is an izakaya. There are Romantei and Kawanami Shokudo nearby. |o| °д°)ノ|ЮGachon Wow! It's almost full even though it's only 6 p.m.! It's a popular place that you have to make a reservation for, but luckily the counter in the middle was empty, so I decided to visit. I could hear children's voices from the back, so there must be a raised tatami area. The owner and I were classmates with Opera Oga-chan, and she kept saying, "You haven't been there yet?" Glad I finally found the opportunity to go. We exchanged greetings and got some towels, then started with Kyoho grape sour. Let's start with the chicken burdock salad. Softly cooked burdock and steamed chicken with plenty of mayo. Dropping soy sauce and drinking sake is a great way to enjoy the meal. Looking at the menu, both the food and drinks are cheap! Whether it's because of that or not, there are many elderly locals here. The back wall is filled with seasonal sashimi and recommended dishes, which I can see from the blackboard. It's hard not to order when you see the seasonal sashimi platter with 5 types. For a single person, two pieces of sashimi are usually enough to satisfy, so I'm happy with this. The fresh bluefin tuna has a thick and intense flavor. The live octopus is really fresh! The sweet shrimp is seriously sweet. The Shima trout from Shikotsu has a rich and flavorful meat that is hard to come by. The Kumaishi live hokke has small bones, but the firmness of the meat makes it worth it. I really wanted to try the homemade marinated mackerel... The sashimi soy sauce is from Kyushu, and every time I use it, I feel like eating horse sashimi. I came here to try the gyoza that was featured on TV. The plump gyoza with lots of green onions is quite erotic. Despite being seasoned, it's surprisingly light. The balance between the sweetness of the green onions and the deliciousness of the meat is exquisite. One piece fills your mouth nicely, it has a good volume. It was a short hour, but surprisingly the turnover is fast. The local community-oriented restaurant, loved by the elderly, thank you for the meal!

My group of four reviewers and I finally went to Sumigawa for drinks, as we had been planning for a while. The interior of the restaurant was relatively clean, but the air quality was poor, making it difficult to stay for a long time. The food did not impress us much, and we didn't feel like coming back for more. We started with sparkling wine, which was a disappointment. The appetizer was pickled smelt, which was a bit too vinegary and didn't go well with the sparkling wine. The boiled shrimp sashimi was just average, lacking the deliciousness we expected. The sashimi platter included mackerel, octopus, salmon, and yellowtail, which were decent, but other dishes fell short. The handmade dumplings were similar to those in a food court. The jumbo chicken skewers were large but lacked flavor. The seafood ajillo with octopus, small shrimp, and clams was oily and not very tasty. We ended with four types of fruit liquor, which tasted more like juice than alcohol. Overall, none of the dishes stood out as delicious, and we were left feeling underwhelmed. We might consider trying Nakanoshima next time.

This is a restaurant that I've always wanted to visit. It's a popular izakaya in Sumikawa. The owner's father here is also the owner of Nakanojima Koseki. A few years ago, they opened this restaurant in Sumikawa. It's always bustling and I've been curious about it. Finally, I was able to visit! The facade looks stylish and chic. When you enter the restaurant, you might think it's just a counter, but there are also two table seats for four people in the back. Since we were a group of four, we reserved the table seats in the back before visiting. Since there is no all-you-can-drink option, we ordered drinks individually. I love sparkling wine, so I ordered a bottle to share with everyone. Cheers! However, it didn't really go well with the smelt pickled in vinegar that came as a starter. The vinegar was too strong! We also ordered sashimi, but the shrimp was boiled. That was disappointing. I would have preferred it raw. We also had the jumbo chicken skewer, a familiar dish from Nakanojima Koseki. It was big and satisfying! We also tried the garlic shrimp. I don't remember much about it, but it was okay. The dumplings were delicious as well. We enjoyed trying different drinks and sharing them. The super-rich yogurt sake was interesting. The presentation was beautiful and stylish, so it's a good choice when you want to appreciate those aspects. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained. But when I want to enjoy a more wild izakaya experience, I still prefer the owner's father's restaurant, Nakanojima Koseki. I love it there. Now, it's time to move on to the next restaurant! Thank you for the meal!

In the Chiyokawa area, rare sake that is hard to find elsewhere and delicious food are the best. The interior of the restaurant has a counter seat and a few table seats in the back. It's stylish yet has a cozy atmosphere. They have a small but impressive selection of Japanese sake, from trendy ones to those favored by enthusiasts. On this day, I enjoyed "Shinsei No. 6 S-Type," "Tenmei Honjo Junmai," and "Shalaku Junmai Ginjo." They are all popular sakes. I forgot to take a photo of the food, but we had seasonal sashimi and it was delicious. Everything we ate was tasty, so this place is a candidate for a monthly visit.

First post: (Visit in January 2014) As for the location, it's in Sumikawa 4-jo 2-chome in Minami Ward, but I can't explain it well, so please check the map on Tabelog for confirmation. I visited this familiar restaurant twice this year and when I heard some interesting information, I made sure to try their "Shiokara Ramen" as the final dish. It took about 10 minutes to walk from the usual restaurant to this place, and upon entering, I immediately ordered some sake. To my surprise, they had the popular Dassai Daiginjo sake, which I enjoyed along with some sashimi. When the sake ran out, I ordered the flavorful Ehime sake "Etsukaijin" to continue. Finally, I ordered the "Shiokara Shio Ramen" that I came for, and after a 5-6 minute wait, it arrived - a simple ramen with only green onions as toppings. The clear soy sauce broth with a strong shiokara flavor was delicious, and the curly, medium-thin Hakodate noodles paired well with it. It reminded me of the ramen I used to have at a shop across from Nijo Market. I plan to try their salt-flavored Hakodate ramen next time. Note that ramen may not always be available, so it's best to call ahead to confirm. Addendum: (Visit in January 2015) This time, it was the "Sapporo Ramen Club" New Year's party, held on a snowy Saturday night with 18 participants. The reason we chose this restaurant is because the proprietress is a member of the Sapporo Ramen Club, and we were able to host the event here with her help. The party started at 6 pm with a 3-hour all-you-can-drink option for a special price of 4,000 yen per club member. Each person had to pay for any special drinks like sake themselves. 1: We started with a simple "Nanohana" ohitashi with a light dashi flavor. 2: Then came the flavorful simmered "Nishin" with delicious kazunoko. 3: The highlight was the assorted sashimi platter, which included maguro and buri. The horse meat sashimi and shimesaba were particularly tasty. 4: Next, we had grilled dishes like jumbo yakitori and grilled liver, with the jumbo yakitori being quite satisfying. 5: Of course, the Ramen Salad was a must for the Sapporo Ramen Club party. 6: Lastly, we enjoyed the crispy Tori Nanban with its original tartar sauce. There was also a limited quantity of "shime ramen" available, but unfortunately, I missed out on it. Instead, as the 3 hours passed, we made sure to enjoy the remaining dishes with some local sake as accompaniments. It's reassuring to have members with expertise in food and drink industries at these club events.

I happened to find a small and narrow restaurant while strolling around Sumikawa, and decided to try drinking there. The place has been open for about a year, but it's already quite popular as it was almost full shortly after I arrived. The menu mainly consists of Japanese dishes, with a variety of drinks including chu-hi, beer, local sake, and imported beers. We ordered the evening drink set until 7 pm and a few drinks and dishes to enjoy leisurely. The sashimi platter had thick slices with generous portions, and they were all delicious. I was surprised by the sweet soy sauce, which turned out to be sashimi soy sauce from Kyushu. The dashimaki tamago was slightly sweet and very fluffy. My companion chose the garlic shoots with lamb meat stir-fry. The sweet seasoning of the lamb meat paired well with the refreshing taste of garlic shoots, making it a perfect match for beer. We also ordered various sake such as Daiginjo, Isojiman, and Miyasakura, which were all enjoyable as there were many local sake options I had never tried before. The dishes took a bit of time to be served as they were prepared by one chef, but they were all incredibly delicious, reasonably priced, and satisfying. I have found a great restaurant and I will definitely go back again.

Reasonable prices, extensive menu, and most importantly, the selection of Japanese sake was excellent and all the options were delicious. After ordering and pouring our drinks, they left the bottle on our table for a while, which was very helpful as it provided information about the brand. It seems like they regularly change their selection, so I definitely want to come back in the future. It's not a big restaurant (although they are opening a second branch), so I almost don't want to tell anyone about this wonderful place I found. Thank you very much!

I attended the Sake Go-Around 2015 event on Sake Day in Japan on October 1st. It was the first time this event was held in Sapporo, so it felt a bit experimental, but it was a fun event. I purchased a participation badge for 500 yen in advance. By wearing it, I could receive a complimentary glass of sake at each participating restaurant. The only cost was for the appetizers. Additional orders for food and drinks were available. I won't rate the event based on points because of this setup. The first stop was at an izakaya in Sumikawa, located behind Sumikawa Station in Minami Ward. The layout had a counter in the front and table seating in the back. The kitchen space was visible from the counter, creating a nice close-knit atmosphere with the chef. They collaborated with a sake from Mie Prefecture. Since it was past 6 pm, there was no initial appetizer as planned. Despite the bad weather, the event was lively and enjoyable. The simmered dish for the appetizer was delicious. The smoked herring, cheese, and gyoza were all tasty, and I ended up ordering more sake (laughs). I would definitely like to visit this place again. Next, I moved on to the next restaurant.
