On January 1, in a special edition for 2015, unexpectedly had to work on New Year's Day!! However, it was more like just staying at the office rather than actually working. It can be quite painful to just stay in one place all day without doing anything. There are about two holiday shifts like this per year, and the only enjoyable part is lunch. But guess what! There are no restaurants open in this countryside on New Year's Day! So, I bought some from the convenience store. I bought miso ramen. It's the type you just heat up. When I tried it... the soup was surprisingly delicious (laughs). It reminded me of Muranaka-style ramen, which was quite nice. There were some vegetables in it too. They were also kind of crunchy, giving it a Muranaka-style feel (laughs). Of course, the noodles are like this when you heat them in the microwave. They don't turn out the same as regular ramen, but it still makes me want to eat ramen from a ramen shop. After lunch, nothing much happened and the work day ended. It was peaceful, but being stuck for 8 hours without anything to do is not fun. Can't even drink alcohol (laughs). So, that's the special edition for you!! 2022/4/26 Revisit [Takeout] Yes, before going to Hotto Motto, I stopped by here. I had been curious about a certain item for a while, so I decided to try it out! Seven Eleven Kurayama Matsukaze Store [2nd visit] This is my second visit, but I actually come here 2-3 times a week (laughs). Today, I purchased two fried curry buns from the store I was looking for. I thought these curry buns were available at all Seven Eleven stores, but it turns out they are limited to certain regions. Perhaps if sales increase, they will expand nationwide. Before handing me the items at the store, they kindly warmed them up in the microwave for a bit. It might be convenient for those who want to eat them in the car right away. Even though some time had passed since the purchase, I decided to eat them without reheating. The curry buns are indeed fried, but they didn't feel too greasy. When I tried them, they had a refreshing taste. The curry inside was a bit sweet, but had a solid flavor which was quite nice. The filling was evenly distributed, and overall, the quality was quite good. It's comparable to curry buns you would buy at a bakery. My wife also tried them and had a similar opinion. The price is reasonable, and they are perfect for a light snack when you're a bit hungry. I'm sure they are high in calories though (laughs). Convenience stores seem to be moving towards in-store cooking, which is becoming more common. While I'm a bit worried that if convenience stores evolve too much, it might affect small local eateries, the convenience they provide is definitely appreciated. I'm curious to see what the future holds for Seven Eleven. It was delicious! Thank you for the meal!
