At the Shabu-An, directly operated by the Crystal Hotel Group, you can enjoy authentic shaved ice! While wandering around Gion in the heat, I was drawn to the delicious-looking and luxurious shaved ice! When I stepped inside the shop, I found a lovely establishment within the hotel. One of my high points was being able to enjoy my favorite alcohol even during the day. I ordered: - Shaved ice with black sugar, plum wine, and vanilla for 1200 yen - Drink: Plum wine for 880 yen I'm really fond of plum wine, so indulging in it made me incredibly happy. This shaved ice is recommended for those who prefer a refreshing taste rather than overly sweet treats. The plum wine was rich and full-bodied! Although I used the place as a café this time, I noticed they had all-you-can-drink options and a sake tasting menu. They also offer BBQ courses, as well as shabu-shabu and sukiyaki courses! I happened to pass by and wanted to try the kakigori (shaved ice) I saw on the sign, so I decided to go in! The shop is on the first floor of a hotel and has a clean and pleasant atmosphere. This time, I ordered the matcha-flavored kakigori. The kakigori topped with matcha ice cream and shiratama (sweet rice dumplings) was surprisingly large and had a great amount of volume! It’s not the fine, fluffy type of ice you usually get at high-end kakigori shops; rather, it’s the crunchy type that everyone loves, reminiscent of the classic style. They also have other options like black sugar plum wine vanilla kakigori, mango kakigori, oiri kakigori, and black sugar plum wine vanilla ice cream.
