I drove to "Gran Charrio" located in "Chitose Mall" to buy bread for dinner and breakfast. I have used this place before, but it was before I started using Tabelog, so it's been a while since I last visited. As soon as I entered the store, the delicious smell of bread tempted my appetite! The bread I bought that day: - Ebisu Kabocha (¥162) - Curry bread with melty fondue sauce (¥151) - Crispy pork bread (¥140) - Churros (¥151) - Ebisu Kabocha: A bread made with kabocha (Japanese pumpkin). The rich and sweet kabocha cream filling reminds me of cream bread. The chewy dough maximizes the sweetness of kabocha, allowing you to enjoy every bit of it. - Crispy pork bread: The surface is crispy, while the inside has a fluffy dough filled with plenty of ground pork. The fragrant sautéed onions and the spiciness of ginger enhance the flavor, adding color to the deliciousness. - Curry bread with melty fondue sauce: It has a crispy and fluffy texture like the pork bread, with a well-balanced curry spice blend that is easy for children to enjoy. The creamy and soft cheese inside is plentiful! When toasted, the dough also changes to a slightly sweet and fragrant taste! - Churros: The familiar elongated churros. Personally, I would say this churros is 80% chewy and 20% crispy. It is seasoned with cinnamon powder and sugar, making it sweet and easily likable by everyone. I have introduced it before, but "Sapporo Paris" is a bakery shop that I revisited in February 2021. Sapporo Paris operates brands such as "Sapporo Paris," "Vi de France," "Farine de Paris," "Mon Paris," and "Granshario," but it is not clear how they differentiate between them. According to the official website of Sapporo Paris, there are 8 stores under the "Granshario" brand, and as registered on Tabelog, there are 22 stores, so the latter number is probably correct. The Chotoshi store is an in-store bakery located in the large commercial facility "Chitose Mall," near the southeast side entrance, which is the busiest entrance. The facility also houses "Morimoto," a bread maker based in Chitose, but Morimoto's Chitose Mall store mainly focuses on confectionery, with a limited lineup of bread, so there seems to be no worry about overlapping with the customer base of "Granshario." The price range is mainly around 100 yen to about 200 yen, which is just right for everyday use. In terms of the market area, there seems to be no overlap with places like Aeon in front of JR Chitose Station, so the nearby "Bakery Mam Chitose Store" near Food D Chitose Store would be more of a competitor.

I visited the bakery "Bakery Granshario" inside Chitose Mall "Super Arcs Nagato store". This bakery is part of the Arcs group and has 22 registered stores in Hokkaido as of November 2020. The variety of hard bread was more abundant than I expected, and it seemed slightly different from other stores I have visited in the past. I purchased the "Almet's end piece @150" which was a great deal as it was being sold cheaply. It had a moist texture and a mild sweetness, making it a good light snack. I also bought the "Walnut Raisin Rare Cheese @180" which was of high quality with a good balance of cream cheese, walnuts, and raisins. The store offers standard French bread like baguettes and batards, which I hope they continue to expand on. I will definitely visit again. Thank you for the meal.

Kuranomen has closed down, and the curry restaurant also seems quiet. The bakery here also had no customers when I visited. I looked around, decided on a character bread, and also bought their recommended item of the week. The salted butter roll with cheddar cheese was delicious. This is a bakery inside the Arks Nagamachi store. I've been here many times but haven't posted about it, I wonder? This bakery has some unique items, so I almost always stop by when I'm at Arks. Today, I bought my favorite teriyaki chicken pizza, bacon epi, salt butter bread, and maple sugar bread. They have both salt bread and salt butter bread here, so make sure you don't mix them up. Lately, they have been adding more hard bread options, but today I only got these. I took a picture with the bread still in the bag since I'll be eating them for breakfast tomorrow, so I apologize if the contents are hard to see. Today, I was a bit concerned when I saw the person in front of me getting a corner piece cut, and the cashier was taking some time to cut it. There was no "please wait" or "sorry for the wait" from the cashier, who seemed to be different from the usual one. It seemed like the person cutting the bread was making it inside, and it took a bit of time to cut, so I wished they had said something. Well, the bread is delicious, so it's fine, but it bothered me a bit. I may try some different bread next time.

The walnut mochi here is delicious and easy to eat with a good size! The price is also good, 5 pieces for 200 yen. Great to have with coffee.

I visited Super Arks for shopping in March 2016, so I revisited the in-store bakery. I had the Fried Peanut Cream Bun for 130 yen, which I found unique and nostalgic. The Cream Donut for 108 yen had a smooth custard cream filling, a classic and reliable taste. The Ring Donut for 86 yen was cheap and delicious, with a classic taste. Thank you for the meal. I visited again in November 2015. I tried the Chocolate Souffle, which was similar to Maple Cheese Souffle but not as good. The Double Choux Cream, despite its name, was more like a melon bun with light and tasty whipped cream. The new Parisian Wiener for 184 yen had sausage inside and was accompanied by delicious chili sauce and mayonnaise. The Chocolate Donut for 119 yen was cute with black dough, white sugar, and chocolate cream inside, although it was a bit disappointing due to the lack of cream and sweetness. The Chocolate Ring for 108 yen was a favorite with light dough and a good amount of sweetness. Although I have visited several times since September 2013, I haven't reviewed it until now. It seems like the bakery has changed since the transition from Ito Yokado to Super Arks. I bought the Maple Cheese Souffle for 147 yen, which was heavy and had a sweet and cheesy filling. The Cheese France for 158 yen had a luxurious feel, with a chewy surface and light cheese-filled dough. The Marble Chocolate Roll for 116 yen was moist and rich in chocolate flavor. The Danish Chocolate Ring for 105 yen was moist and delicious, unlike most doughnuts. The Wing Cheese for 137 yen had a crispy exterior and a cheesy, chewy interior. Overall, I found the quality of the bread to be high.

In July 2016, there is a bakery located inside Chitose Super Arks. It is located at the entrance of the grocery section. This was my first time visiting this Super Arks, and in the central mall, they were selling handmade goods, handmade sweets, palm reading, tarot card reading, esthetic services, and more. This time, I bought cooking bread for breakfast. I purchased mentaiko (spicy cod roe) chikuwa bread and asparagus bacon bread. I tried the asparagus bacon bread. The bread dough was quite crispy, with potato salad and asparagus on top of the bacon, giving it a substantial volume. This time, I felt like my dinner (bento) was slightly lacking, so I decided to buy some extra, but ended up buying too much and ended up feeling like "I ate too much" (^_^;) It's a Sunday evening, so there were no customers before or after me. The new item with a sign, Mentaiko Chikuwa Bread, is on the smaller side. It has mentaiko mayo inside the chikuwa, which is quite liquidy and surprised me! It's sweet and savory, quite delicious. Now, onto the issue of the scone. The sign was wrong or maybe I just misread it, but I thought I bought a "Yuzu Chocolate Scone" but there was clearly no "chocolate" in it! It's a soft and moist scone with a crispy surface, a large scone with 4 pieces. It had a honey-like topping that made it sweet. I didn't like that my hand got sticky from holding it. ★★★ Revisit ○

I was recommended to try the Bacon Epi by the reviewer Machikane C.K. in April 2012, so I decided to visit the bakery. Although I had heard of this place before, I had never actually been there as I usually go with my family. Since the kids were off from school and I was craving the Bacon Epi, I decided to go buy some for lunch. I arrived at the bakery before it opened and when I looked around inside, I couldn't find the Bacon Epi or any other hard breads. It seemed like I had come too early. So, I ended up getting the classic Anpanman bread for my youngest child. I also bought the spicy cod roe French bread, garlic bread, and feather cheese bread. The spicy cod roe French bread had a great texture and the mayo had just the right amount of acidity, making it really delicious. The garlic bread had a nice garlic flavor and was very tasty. The Anpanman bread had a chocolate cream filling, and the feather cheese bread was a cheese lover's dream with crispy cheese on the outside and cheese inside. Although I was disappointed that they didn't have the Bacon Epi this time, everything I tried was delicious. I will definitely come back for a second try. Thank you for the meal.

Chitose City Yubu, Chitose Mall (Super Arcs Nagato Store) 1st floor. I was just planning to buy some groceries and head home, but as I was leaving, I made eye contact with the Bacon Epi. I ended up buying the Bacon Epi for 157 yen, the Crispy Bacon Bar for 137 yen, and the Tuna Potato France for 137 yen (seems like I went for the harder bread options again). The Bacon Epi caught my attention with the black sesame seeds on it, adding a unique touch. The Crispy Bacon Bar, despite its name, was a fun twist on the Bacon Epi with edamame mixed in. It had a strong peppery flavor, more suited for adults. The Tuna Potato France, with tuna, potatoes, and mayo, was simply delicious. Overall, all the breads were surprisingly tasty and I might have underestimated them. I'm curious to try out other bread options in the future.

The bakery is located very close to my workplace, so I often use it for everyday use. The staff's friendliness is not very good. It's not particularly bad, but I always think it would be nice if they had a bit more of a smile. The variety of bread is quite good, with each costing around 100 yen, and some larger ones around 150 yen, making it affordable. The "Mochimochi Chocolate Bread" lacked the expected chewiness. It is a mini-sized chocolate bread that looked very chocolatey, so I assumed it would be very sweet, but it was actually moderately sweet. The "Fluffy Ham and Egg Bread" did not have the expected fluffiness. I enjoyed it because I love the golden combination of ham and fried egg spread throughout. It would be even better if there were more ham and egg spread. The "Yakisoba Bread" is a type where the yakisoba is already kneaded into the dough. The slightly added pickled ginger is a nice accent. The amount of yakisoba is not too much, but the sweet and savory sauce is great. The "Garlic French Bread" is quite large but very affordable. It is a slightly soft French bread with a strong garlic flavor inside, making it moist and spicy, and very delicious.

There are two stores in Chitose City, one at the Sunrise Big House Chitose store and the other at the Supa Arks Nagato store in the Chitose Mall. I use both, but this time I want to introduce the Nagato store. Located near Nagato Station on the JR Chitose Line in the Chitose Mall (formerly Ito Yokado), the Nagato store has a small but decent selection. They have a good variety of prepared bread (baked cooking bread), and they also offer unique and interesting original bread that you don't see in other stores. The taste is decent, and the prices are affordable, making it a good choice for everyday use.
