I wandered around the Bay Area looking for lunch, but Blue Moon was closed until April... So I decided to check out the area with Ajisai, Yangyangtei, and Kikuyo Shokudo in Lavista, where there are also restaurants inside hotels. Surprisingly, the prices were quite reasonable, so I decided to give it a try. The pasta, salad, coffee, and dessert set was 1200 yen, while the paella, salad, soup, coffee, and dessert set was 1500 yen. The Chinese restaurant seemed to be bustling with customers, but the Western restaurant only had us and one other couple until closing time. The food review is as follows: Salad - Good, the dressing was tasty. Soup - Good, it was a consomme soup with diced radish, carrots, and bacon. Coffee - Not good, it tasted bitter as it had been sitting for about 30 minutes. Dessert - Good, it included chiffon cake, tiramisu (though it was custard, not mascarpone), and ice cream. Main dish (paella) - Bad, it was the worst dish I've ever had. It lacked flavor, seafood aroma, the shells were easily broken, the seafood was dry, and the rice was dry as well. It was like eating torture, and my friend who ordered the tomato pasta with crab was not impressed either. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I doubt I will be returning.
