Rasa Bojun is a Sri Lankan restaurant located in Osaka, Japan. I visited for the first time during lunch on a weekday in September 2022. The restaurant opened in 2016 and the name means "delicious feast" in Sinhalese. I ordered the Bojun Plate for 1,100 yen, which included five vegetable-centered curries, a main pork curry, papadum, salad, milk tea, and dessert. The pork curry was rich and flavorful, with a perfect balance of spiciness. Each dish was excellent on its own, but mixing them together created a delicious combination. The presence of okra added a nice texture to the meal. The option to adjust the spiciness level was a nice touch. The dessert, a peach pudding-like dish, and the milk tea were also delicious. Overall, the set meal was a great value for 1,100 yen. I highly recommend Rasa Bojun for authentic Sri Lankan cuisine in Osaka.

It had been a while since our last visit. The place was mostly filled with foreigners, apart from us. Despite there being only three groups of customers, the two staff members were in a panic. They warned us that it might take some time due to the crowd, so we ordered four items a la carte and beer from the menu. The "spicy stir-fried chickpeas" exceeded our expectations and were delicious! The atmosphere felt like we had stumbled into a Japanese restaurant with a multinational twist. Lots of laughs!

I decided to visit the Spice Hyakumeiten WEST on a whim, and my first stop was La Savojean. The restaurant had a mix of counter and table seating, and I arrived around 2 pm, well after the lunch rush, with only one other customer present. As I descended into the underground establishment, I felt transported to a different country. The music playing on the floor and in the kitchen created a chaotic yet intriguing atmosphere. The menu was extensive, especially for lunch, with a variety of curry options to choose from. I opted for two types of curry for ¥850 each, with the choice of chicken mince, chicken, or pork as the protein. The lunch set also came with salad, milk tea, and dessert, all served at an impressively fast pace. The curry was not overly spicy and had a gentle flavor, with well-cooked chunks of chicken that were tender and flavorful. The football rice was served with turmeric rice, and the overall meal was very satisfying. The option to upgrade to a larger portion of rice or switch to basmati rice for an additional ¥100 showed the flexibility of the restaurant. The dessert, a pudding, and the unsweetened milk tea were a perfect end to the meal. Overall, the lunch set was great value for money. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Arrived on a regular Tuesday afternoon around 1 pm. Only one group of customers in the restaurant. Finally settled down after the lunch customers left. Ordered the Bojun Plate with Basmati rice. The plate came with several side dishes, which I mixed with curry on a separate plate. The combination of flavors was delicious. The meal also came with milk tea for dessert, all for 1000 yen. The weekday lunch deal was quite a bargain.

Located about a 5-minute walk from Kitahama Station, there is a Sri Lankan restaurant. The restaurant is in the basement of a building just across the bridge, so it may be a bit hard to find, but you can spot it by the Sri Lankan flag. This was my first time trying Sri Lankan cuisine, so I was both excited and a bit nervous. Since it was a Sunday lunch, it seemed a bit pricey. I ordered the Bojun Plate, which was listed at the top of the menu and costs 1,600 yen. Apparently, on weekdays, it is only 1,000 yen, so it felt quite expensive. The Bojun Plate consisted of rice surrounded by five different curries like lentil curry, with the main curry (chicken or pork) served separately. The surrounding curries were spicy with a strong kick, but tasty. The main curry, which I chose chicken for, had large pieces of chicken and was also spicy and satisfying. At first, I was cautious about mixing the different curries, but once I did, it was delicious. However, I couldn't quite distinguish the difference between Sri Lankan curry and Indian or Nepalese curry.

I went for lunch on Sunday♡ It was my first time trying Sri Lankan cuisine, and I ordered the recommended Bojun Plate. It was delicious! However, the portion was too big and I couldn't finish it all... I'm sorry. The lady at the next table finished her meal, so I think it depends on the person! I will definitely visit again! ✌

We ordered the Sri Lankan beer couple set for two people, but there were three of us and we couldn't finish it all! It was fun to try different types of curry. In India, they have naan, but in Sri Lanka, they have roti. The food was spicy and fresh. We had reserved a table but ended up sitting at the counter, and they gave us some extra service. I heard there's another location near Nara Hotel, so I would like to go there again if I have the chance.

The B set lunch (3 kinds of curry) with three kinds of curry for 990 yen is cheap. The curry has a gentle flavor that is easy to eat and delicious. I thought it would have more spice, but the gentle taste of the beans is strong and the spiciness is quite mild. It's not very stimulating, but it's easy to eat and I finished it in no time. Thank you for the meal!

I felt like having some spicy curry, so I decided to check out "Rasa Bojun"! This Sri Lankan restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and is great for dining alone or with a group. Based on the reviews, I decided to go for the Bojun Plate, which includes 5 types of vegetable curry, choice of pork or chicken curry, petit pudding, and milk tea for 1,100 yen (with basmati rice included)! The spices are flavorful but not too spicy, suitable for Japanese taste buds. The chicken was tender, and each vegetable had its own unique flavor. You can enjoy them separately or mix them together. It's a great way to get your veggies in, highly recommended! I enjoyed it very much. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Visit time: 12:30 on a weekday Waiting time: None Menu: Chicken Plate for 700 yen I thought I ordered the Bulgogi Plate, but when it was brought to me, it turned out to be Chicken Curry. I also forgot to ask for a larger portion, so the amount was small. It was cost-effective at 700 yen, but the meal didn't feel satisfying. The spiciness level was mild. Thank you for the meal.

This was a wonderful restaurant. This time, I had the Pojun plate with the chicken curry recommended by the staff. The curry had a vegetable base with 5 varieties, not too spicy, and the flavors of the various vegetables were really wonderful! This plate is the best. The chicken curry was also not too spicy and had plenty of chicken. The salad was delicious, not just limp. It also came with a dessert pudding and delicious milk tea. It was a truly satisfying plate. Finally, the staff's service was also wonderful. Thank you very much. It was a great meal.

I had never been to this restaurant in my neighborhood before, but I saw good reviews on Tabelog and decided to give it a try. The curry was really authentic and delicious. I regret not going there sooner. The chicken curry, which was the main dish, had tender meat with a rich flavor that was not overpowering. The vegetable curry had different flavors for each vegetable, and the colors were vibrant, making it more complex and interesting. It seemed like a lot of effort was put into preparing the dishes. I learned that in Sri Lanka, they cook vegetables to bring out their natural flavors. As I was eating, a stick-like object appeared in the dish, and when I put it in my mouth, it turned out to be a very fragrant cinnamon stick. Sri Lankan cinnamon is famous, and it was interesting to see how it is used in cooking. The price for the weekend lunch was 1600 yen. I would like to visit again on a weekday next time.

I visited this restaurant on short notice because my intended restaurant was unexpectedly closed. It was late for lunch, so there were hardly any customers. Since I am not familiar with Sri Lankan cuisine, I had trouble ordering as I couldn't understand the menu well. I later found out that it is recommended to mix the curry well before eating, but I didn't do it properly. I tried to mix it a little for flavor variation, but I'm not sure if Sri Lankan curry just doesn't suit my taste or if I ate it wrong. I left with some doubts about the restaurant. Next time, I will make sure to ask the staff for guidance to enjoy the food properly, as it would be disrespectful otherwise. This experience was a learning opportunity in more ways than one.

Had lunch at Rasabojun in Kitahama for the first time. I ordered the recommended Bojun plate with chicken. I mistakenly thought that the default rice was basmati, but it turns out I had to change my order. My mistake. The curry with plenty of side dishes had a healthy feel to it. The curry with chunks of chicken had a mild spice flavor, which seemed to be tailored to suit Japanese tastes. After the meal, I had ice milk tea and watappan. Thank you for the meal.

The pork on the Bojun plate with basmati rice was delicious. The separate pork curry had a delightful bitterness that spread in my mouth as soon as I tasted it. Could it be the bitterness of the coffee? This was probably the first time I've had such a delicious curry with a strong bitterness. The iced tea and pudding after the meal were also delicious.

Located in the dimly lit basement of Kitahama. The interior has a calm atmosphere with indirect lighting. I ordered the Bojun Plate for 1,400 yen (comes with salad and milk tea), which offers a variety of curries to enjoy. You can choose between chicken and pork for the main curry. Based on reviews, I chose chicken and changed the rice to basmati. All the curries were mild and easy to eat, highlighting the quality of the ingredients. The chicken curry had tender chunks of chicken, providing a satisfying texture. The mashed bean curry had a sweet and gentle flavor. As expected from the world-renowned tea-producing country Sri Lanka, the milk tea after the meal was refreshing and easy to drink. The name of the restaurant apparently means "delicious feast" in Sinhala. Thank you for the meal!

Rasa Bojun is a restaurant listed in the Tabelog Top 100, located at a crossroads along the river on the basement floor. I visited on a Saturday at 11:55 am, with the restaurant about half full. The interior has a subdued lighting and a local-style decor, with upbeat Western pop music playing on the TV. They offer a variety of drinks, including Sri Lankan beer. The staff, including a male chef and a female server, appear to be Sri Lankan. I ordered the Bojun Plate for 1500 yen, which came with milk tea and dessert. The plate consisted of five vegetable-based curries, with the choice of chicken or pork as the main curry. I chose pork. The salad was served first after about 7 minutes, followed by the curry after 15 minutes. The presentation was colorful, with banana leaves catching the eye. The curry had a good balance of flavors and saltiness, and the pork was tender but had a slightly unique taste. The salad was a bit too thickly cut for my liking. The pudding and milk tea were lightly sweet and refreshing. Overall, the Sri Lankan curry had an authentic foreign taste, but it became a bit heavy towards the end. Personally, it wasn't to my taste, but it seems to be popular among Japanese customers. The overall rating for the Sri Lankan curry is 73 points.

I went on a curry tour in Tanimachi for lunch on Sunday. I had the Bojun Plate for 1500 yen, which includes 5 types of vegetables and 1 type of meat. You can choose between chicken or pork for the meat. I chose pork! The luxurious lunch was beautifully served on a banana leaf plate, with Basmati rice and a boiled egg. There were colorful vegetables all around. The pork curry was served on a separate plate! After trying everything separately, I mixed it all together into a paradise of flavors. Once I added the pork curry, the flavors all came together beautifully! The spiciness was just right. It was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating. Lastly, I had pudding and milk tea to finish off the meal! It was a generous portion! It seems like you can get the Bojun Plate for 1000 yen on weekdays! What a great value! I would love to go back on a weekday next time. Thank you for the meal!

I visited during the night on a holiday, but was seated right away. It's close to the office district, so it might be a hidden gem on weekends. Even at night, the set menu was around 1500 yen, so the cost performance is really good! I ordered the set that is also the name of the restaurant, and it was incredibly delicious. It came with dessert and milk tea, so I was very satisfied.

Bodhi Plate Basti Masala Rice has been changed to a cozy restaurant on the basement floor. The Bodhi Plate features a curry with a variety of vegetable-based side dishes surrounding the rice. You can choose between chicken or pork for the curry, and I chose pork. Each side dish is carefully seasoned and delicious, but the best way to enjoy it is to mix everything together with the rice. The curry has a deep and complex flavor when eaten together with the rice. The set also comes with dessert, pudding, and milk tea, all for a reasonable price of 1,500 yen!
