I visited Fukuzushi for lunch during my sightseeing in Otaru. I ordered the chirashi sushi, which initially seemed like a small portion, but ended up being quite filling. The sashimi on top was delicious, especially the herring sashimi between the scallops and octopus. It was my first time trying herring sashimi, and it was soft and sweet. Halfway through the meal, a piping hot chawanmushi was served, adding to my satisfaction. The restaurant was clean and lively, with four chefs working behind the counter. The female staff were attentive and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're visiting Otaru. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This traditional sushi restaurant, rooted in the local community, offers affordable prices and a cozy atmosphere. The interior has counter seats and tables, with many small shops catering to families, couples, and regular customers. The menu mainly features classic sushi toppings, all well-seasoned and deliciously fresh.

On March 16, 2023, Thursday, I went on a Club Tourism domestic trip to The Windsor Hotel Toya for about 17 hours! I was lured by the delicious food and beautiful scenery of the lovely Hokkaido Three Capitals for 3 days♡ For lunch on the third day, it was included in the tour package, and we all enjoyed sushi at Fukuzushi. As expected from a sushi restaurant in Otaru, the ingredients were fresh and all the sushi was delicious♪ However, I felt that the seasoning of the chawanmushi was a bit on the sweet side.

I visited a sushi restaurant in Otaru, Hokkaido. The prices were reasonable, the taste was good, and they had a wide variety of sake. I enjoyed Otaru white wine and Hokkaido barley shochu. The sushi ingredients such as hokke and herring are not commonly found in Kanto region, but are typical of Hokkaido.

I visited a sushi restaurant near the Otaru Canal as part of a Hokkaido tour. There were three chefs, and when I sat down, a bucket of sushi arrived. I had high expectations because it was in Otaru, Hokkaido, but it felt like I expected too much. However, there were autographs from famous people, so it might be a decent restaurant. I want to try Hokkaido sushi again on my own dime for a better experience.

The sushi I had during the bus tour was the most delicious I've ever had. I was worried about the raw shrimp, which I usually don't like, but it wasn't fishy at all and I could eat it in one bite. The sea urchin melted in my mouth, and the herring and smelt were also soft and delicious, although the service was a bit slow. It was so tasty that I forgot about the wait. Thank you for the meal.

The restaurant is clean and spacious. I received it on a premium tour from Club Tourism. The tuna melts in your mouth, the freshly made sushi rice is slightly warm and delicious. The fresh raw herring is rare and delicious. The scallops are large, sweet, and delicious. The seats are separated by acrylic panels, and there is plenty of space between them. Thank you for the meal.

JAL Pack option to Otaru for sushi. We were relaxing at the hotel due to travel fatigue and overeating delicious food, but decided to go to Otaru from Sapporo in the afternoon. We visited a restaurant facing a busy tourist street. We arrived around 3 pm without a reservation and were seated promptly. The restaurant was empty except for us, so we felt a bit guilty for coming at an odd time. The interior was beautiful with counter and table seating. There seemed to be a second floor as well. We were seated at a table by the owner, who provided acrylic boards and hand sanitizer on the table. The restaurant had proper COVID-19 measures in place, making us feel safe. The interior was also well-maintained. We started with a Sapporo Classic beer. It was around 680 yen. We were served dried seaweed as an appetizer in small plates. The jellyfish was also included. We enjoyed some drinks while waiting for the sushi. Finally, a beautiful plate of assorted sushi arrived, including fresh raw herring, which added a nice touch of Otaru. The fish was fatty and fresh, with skillful knife work evident. The medium fatty tuna melted in the mouth, and so did the sea urchin. I ordered a Hokkaido shochu with hot water as my second drink, which was around 550 yen. I paired it with the remaining sushi. The rice was warm and had a nice balance of texture. Despite feeling full, I managed to finish all the sushi because the rice was smaller in size. Oh, it was worth coming to Otaru! The restroom was air-conditioned, the restaurant was clean, and the staff provided a comfortable and friendly service. It felt like a neighborhood restaurant, even though it was my first time there and we had the place to ourselves. If I had to nitpick, the timing of serving the soup with the sushi was a bit off, as it got cold. It would have been nice to have the tea served again at the end. Perhaps the restaurant's rating on Tabelog is lower due to being on a tourist street and having slightly higher prices for individual items. However, the quality of the ingredients and service were top-notch. I used a coupon purchased in advance through the JAL Pack option, so I only paid 1,500 yen for a meal that would have cost 6,600 yen. It was a delightful and delicious experience. Thank you very much.

[First visit on December 6, 2019] We departed from Kabu Onsen and made a stop in Niseko on our way to Otaru. Otaru is famous for its delicious sushi. Despite being a group meal, we visited a fairly upscale sushi restaurant. The nigiri included 7 pieces of shrimp, tuna, hokke (Okhotsk atka mackerel), shishamo (smelt), salmon, octopus, and tamago (egg). The hokke nigiri was particularly unique - despite being white fish, it was full of flavor, which was surprising. The shiny fish was the shishamo, with a rich taste that was also delicious. The gunkan sushi with sea urchin and salmon roe was a classic, but without any fishy smell, it was completely different from what you might find elsewhere. Additionally, we were served a clear soup with wheat gluten floating in it. Of course, we enjoyed some beer with our meal and left very satisfied. After eating, we strolled around the town of Otaru. Despite it being a quick tour, there were plenty of sights to see and we were quite pleased. Thank you for the meal! 😊

I received a 2,200 yen sushi set. Everything was delicious, but the best was the sea urchin! Hokkaido sea urchin is fresh, creamy, and delicious.

The cost performance is bad, so if it's this kind of content, I think it's better to go to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant in Hokkaido.

Disappointing taste. I went in expecting sushi in Otaru, but there was no explanation of the sushi toppings and the taste was better in Osaka. Other customers also ate silently and left quickly.
