On this day, I decided to eat soba at "Morinobo" restaurant. They are only open on Tuesdays and Fridays, and I had been eyeing this place for a while. When I called to confirm if they were open during the period when the state of emergency had not been lifted yet, they were closed. Also, I had already secured a job that required me to work on weekends starting in early July, so my available days to visit the restaurant were quite limited. I was worried because the Sapporo branch of the restaurant had no clear plans to reopen even after the lifting of the state of emergency. But when I called to make a reservation, they said they had reopened. So I thought, now is the only chance to go! I wonder if other non-bar restaurants have reopened as well, depending on the branch. It's reassuring. I made a reservation for the opening time and headed to the restaurant. When I entered, I told them I had a reservation for today, and I was seated at a table. I ordered the "Sansai Soba (¥800)" and the "Cake Set A (¥650)". Today's cake was a baked cheesecake. After the meal, coffee is also included. The soba arrived in about 10 minutes. It was topped with various ingredients like green onions, fish cake, nameko mushrooms, warabi, kikurage mushrooms, and fine bamboo shoots commonly used in mountain vegetable soba. The noodles were thin and had a good elasticity even when soaked in the broth, maintaining a smooth and slippery texture. The broth was not too salty and easy to drink. You can also add chili peppers for extra flavor. I couldn't help but finish the broth completely. The cheesecake was rich and smooth, with an ideal taste. It paired well with the coffee, making you want to eat more. The attention to detail in both the soba and the cake was evident. There are also keychains and pouches for sale. They were a bit pricey at ¥1500. By the way, there was a Dore-kun plushie in the store, and it was clear that the couple running the restaurant were fans of Consadole Sapporo. They even offer free coffee to members of the Consadole Sapporo fan club! I'm not a member, and I'm not very familiar with the team, so I couldn't enjoy that service. The husband mentioned that he prefers warm soba. I haven't visited many soba restaurants, so I need to start exploring more. It's quite a challenge to visit a restaurant with such limited operating days, especially when the specific days are even more restricted. But once you visit, you'll be greeted with delicious soba! If you happen to have a day off on the days they are open, be sure to visit! Thank you for the meal.
