This restaurant is located about 5 minutes from the station, slightly away from the bustling shopping area, and nothing you order here is a miss! It's amazing! This time, we ordered skewered dishes (pork throat with pepper salt, heart, and white liver), beef tendon stew (dote-yaki), meat miso tofu, Satsuma Chiran chicken tataki with ponzu and green onions, white liver toro yukke, and chicken shiso fried rice. I might have overordered, but everything was truly delicious, and each dish was filling with unbeatable cost performance! The location is a bit hard to find, so it seems there are few walk-in customers, but if word gets out, it could soon become a restaurant where reservations are difficult to get!

I visited "Torito Chuhai Torisu," located just a 3-minute walk from Kanda Station! It newly opened in June this year and is a new branch of a company that has multiple locations in Osaka. Here’s what I ordered:
**Yakitori Course** with all-you-can-drink for 4,000 yen
- **Appetizer:** Dashi Takoyaki – This starter was incredible! The pairing of the “takoyaki” and “Kansai dashi,” which originated in the Kansai region, was perfect, raising my expectations for the next dishes.
- **Appetizer:** Raw Namul of Spring Greens – A must-try for spring greens lovers! It was my first time tasting spring greens namul, and I personally preferred it over the namul typically served at Korean BBQs.
- **Appetizer:** Miso Tofu with Meat – The refreshing tofu topped with plenty of meat miso was fantastic as a drinking snack!
- **Cold Dish:** Torisu Potato Salad – A classic potato salad, but the texture was exceptionally smooth and had a gentle flavor.
- **Special Dish:** White Liver Taroyukke – A treat for liver enthusiasts! The large piece of white liver with a rich sauce and egg yolk was the best snack of the evening.
- **Skewers:** Classic Yakitori (4 pieces: sun-dried gizzards, heart, negima, and tsukune with sauce and cheese) – True to its name, the yakitori was delicious! While Kanda is known for its many grilled meat stalls, I'll definitely want to come back here for yakitori.
- **Fried Item:** Seaweed Salt French Fries – I love French fries! The right frying level and the seaweed salt were a great combination that made them easy to eat.
- **Noodle Dish:** Chicken Broth Dan Dan Noodles – These noodles featured a refreshing chicken broth base that completely changed my perception of traditional Dan Dan noodles. It was the perfect way to end the meal!
Wow! From the initial appetizer that raised my expectations to the grand finale, the food was exceptional throughout. The all-you-can-drink options were impressive as well, including drinks you wouldn't typically find in regular izakayas, making this a great spot for gatherings. The staff provided pleasant service, and the atmosphere was very comfortable! I highly recommend sitting at the counter for solo dining too. Be sure to check it out!

I had dinner with my colleagues ♡ Even though it's a weekday, the restaurant is packed with office workers like us! It's a popular place! There’s a wide range of customers, from young women to groups of older men. It’s clearly loved by people working around Kanda♪ The menu and flavors have a touch of Osaka, which makes me, a Kansai native, really happy ♡ The staff are bright, funny, and friendly, providing detailed explanations of the menu, creating a lively and fun atmosphere.
Here’s what we ordered:
- Appetizer: Fried Takoyaki Soup with crispy takoyaki and noodles in it. This delicious dish is unique! At first glance, it looks like chawanmushi, but when you open the lid, you find a flavorful takoyaki broth! It's an impressive dish! ꙳⋆
- Fresh Namul with shungiku and white leek
- Assorted skewers (5 pieces)
- Skewers: Hatsu Moto, Pork Belly with Sichuan Pepper Salt
- White Liver Yukke ♡
- Beef Tendon Stew (Dote Yaki)
- Chiran Chicken Tataki with Ponzu and plenty of green onions ♡
- Chiran Chicken Yukke with Egg Yolk ♡
- Chicken Soboro Rice ♡
- Kinako Ice Cream
Wow, I definitely overate. But everything was so delicious and the restaurant was such a fun place that I couldn't stop! All the skewers were tasty, but especially the White Liver Yukke → it was incredibly creamy, and the Chicken Tataki with Ponzu and green onions → had an astonishingly great texture, while the Chicken Yukke with Egg Yolk → was rich and meaty. The Chicken Soboro Rice → was dense and absolutely delicious, making me want to come here just for that! It’s a must-try with an unforgettable taste ♡
For drinks, I highly recommend the Hebes Chuhai and Setouchi Lemon Chuhai. I tried the Hebes Chuhai for the first time, and it was tasty! It’s right by Kanda Station, making it an easy place to pop into for a casual meal that’s affordable, delicious, and generous in portion sizes. The drink menu is also extensive, making this a lively and enjoyable spot. It’s perfect for solo drinks, after-work drinks with colleagues, or having fun with friends. No wonder this place is so popular! The high ratings on Tabelog are well-deserved!

I enjoyed a luxurious dinner at the hidden yakitori restaurant "Tori Nests" in Kanda! As soon as you step inside, the warm atmosphere envelops you, creating a comfortable space to relax.
The first dish served as an "otoshi" (small appetizer) was a unique creation featuring takoyaki and fried noodles in a flavorful Japanese-style sauce. The soft texture of the gooey takoyaki combined with the crispy fried noodles provided a delightful new taste experience. Each bite offered a variety of textures and the rich umami of the dashi broth was a pleasant surprise.
Next, I ordered the "Shiro Laba Yukke" (raw white liver), which was rich and creamy, perfectly complemented by an egg yolk and sauce. It provided a luxurious feeling with its smooth texture and deep flavor that is truly addictive.
The "Negi Mami Raabiri (Negi-topped grilled chicken)" was also outstanding. The grilled chicken, charred to perfection, was generously topped with green onions and a hint of spicy shichimi seasoning, which added a nice kick. The balance of refreshing flavor and umami was exceptional, making it a dish that pairs wonderfully with drinks.
The "Chilled Tomato" stood out with its ginger and black pepper dressing, enhancing the natural sweetness of the fresh tomatoes. Its light flavor was perfect, complementing the yakitori and richer dishes very well.
The "Meat Miso Tofu" consisted of a robust miso flavor that matched perfectly with the silky firmness of the tofu, creating a dish that made you crave rice.
Finally, the main attraction: the yakitori! Each skewer was grilled to perfection, showcasing the unique characteristics of each part. The "Tsukune" (chicken meatball) was especially delightful with its fluffy texture and smoky charcoal aroma.
To finish, I enjoyed a refreshing chuhai (shochu highball), which paired brilliantly with the food, providing a blissful moment. "Tori Nests" offers a wonderful combination of Japanese-style creative dishes, yakitori, and a great selection of drinks. It's easily accessible from Kanda Station, so be sure to visit!

I visited a restaurant for dinner with friends. I took the subway, so it was about a 4-minute walk from Exit 3 of Kanda Station. There’s a counter near the entrance and table seats in the back. Even on weekdays, the place was full by 8 PM, and they turned away additional customers, so reservations are a must.
Here’s the menu we enjoyed:
☑️ Appetizer: Takoyaki served with dashi broth
☑️ Skewers: Unique varieties including tsukune (meatball) with sauce, cheese, chicken skin with garlic sauce, chicken breast with wasabi, chicken breast with plum and shiso, pork belly with sansho salt, and grilled eggplant dengaku
☑️ Sides: Lightly pickled okra and a fresh namul of spring chrysanthemum and white onion
☑️ Rice: Shiso chicken fried rice
☑️ Dessert: Black honey and soybean flour ice cream and strawberry ice cream (secret menu item)
☑️ Drinks: Pear citrus chuhai, Setouchi lemon chuhai, Miyazaki beer, and whiskey highball
The takoyaki appetizer was new to me, served with dashi, and had a comforting flavor. We ordered one of each unique skewer to share among friends, which was great for trying different flavors. The tsukune was reliably delicious, while the chicken skin with garlic sauce and grilled eggplant dengaku offered unique flavors I hadn't experienced elsewhere. The spring chrysanthemum and white onion namul had a surprisingly nice taste with great saltiness that paired well with drinks. I debated between tan-tan noodles and fried rice but ultimately chose the fried rice, which was delightful due to the ample amount of shiso. The strawberry ice cream from the secret menu was really good, while my friend opted for the classic soybean flavor.
There were many unique drink options, making it fun to choose. It seemed that most of the patrons at the counter, including us, were women, perhaps because the menu appeals to them. The shop has a simple yet stylish appearance, with a transparent interior that makes it easy to enter.

I went to dinner at a place called "Tori to Chuhai to Risuu," located just a 2-minute walk from the East Exit of Kanda Station. It felt like a beloved local spot with people from the neighborhood enjoying drinks and having a good time. The staff were very cheerful and provided detailed explanations of the menu, creating a fun atmosphere.
We ordered several dishes starting with an appetizer of fried takoyaki soup, which included takoyaki in a crispy style with yakisoba noodles—this was absolutely exquisite! It was served in a chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) dish, so at first glance, it looked like custard, but when you opened the lid, it was actually takoyaki soup! I would love for this to be offered as a regular menu item!
We also tried:
- Fresh namul with shungiku (garland chrysanthemum) and shredded white leek
- Beef tendon stew (Dote-yaki)
- Assorted yakitori skewers (5 pieces)
- Meat miso tofu
- Fried potatoes with seaweed flavor
- Chicken shiso fried rice
Although the names of the menu items are quite basic, each dish had its own special touch that added depth to the flavor, and I was pleasantly surprised with every new dish that came out. Everything was delicious!
For drinks, I ordered the Okinawa salt tomato chuhai, which was a great combination of soda and tomato. The menu for chuhai and highballs was also quite extensive!

A casual drinking spot that's easy to visit. The bright interior brings a sense of nostalgia and is very comfortable, allowing for a relaxing time. The staff is friendly and cheerful. The cooking and drink service is quick, which is a nice bonus. The appetizer is surprisingly takoyaki, and it’s so delicious that it becomes addictive. They also have unique menu items like Miyazaki Hebesu chuhai and Osaka Cold Sweet Tea chuhai, which you don’t often see elsewhere, making you want to visit again. Of course, the skewers are great, and the side dishes are excellent, all perfect for pairing with drinks. It's a paradise for drink lovers. You can enjoy dishes that focus on quality ingredients and local produce at reasonable prices. With both the food and drinks being delicious and affordable, you can drink without worrying about the cost.

The staff is friendly and suggests drinks at just the right moment, making for a superbly comfortable atmosphere. Despite being a rainy weeknight, both the counter and tables were fully booked. The food portions are generous and satisfying. The complimentary takoyaki is incredibly delicious! The chicken soba for the final course was perfect, and I left completely full. Thank you for an amazing meal!

I used this place for a drinking party at Kanda Station! I was surprised right from the appetizers! They served a creative dish that resembles takoyaki, topped with broth, which really whetted my appetite from the start. The yakitori options included hearts, seasoned pork belly, salt chicken meatballs, and salted skewers, allowing us to enjoy different flavors for each part, so it never got boring. I especially recommend the hearts, which are packed with delicious tare sauce and have a rich flavor that's addictive! The white liver yukke was also exquisite, with a smooth texture and a pleasantly sweet and spicy sauce that was incredibly tasty! Additionally, the refreshing cucumber and green onion pickles provided a nice accent! Every dish was perfect for pairing with drinks, and there were no misses! The friendly staff greeted us warmly, making it easy to relax and enjoy, even for first-time visitors.

I visited Toriso in Kanda♪ It has been highly praised in reviews for its amazing chicken dishes, so I ordered a variety of items with my friend. We toasted with highballs and umeshu on the rocks! First, we had a platter of grilled skewers. They were juicy and nicely grilled, bringing out the deliciousness of the ingredients, allowing us to enjoy a luxurious selection of different parts! The grilling was perfect, and we were completely satisfied with each one being so tasty. Next, we tried the simmered beef tendon. It was cooked slowly to tenderness, and the rich flavor soaked in made each bite comforting. Then came the Chiran chicken tartare topped with an egg yolk, featuring the fresh taste of raw meat combined with the rich yolk, which was simply the best! It truly lived up to the reviews. Additionally, the grilled chicken neck with sansho pepper had a nice spicy kick that made it addictive. The meat miso tofu, with the flavorful meat miso soaking into the tofu, was a perfect match for our drinks. We enjoyed drinks that paired well with the food and had a relaxing time. The cozy atmosphere made it a wonderful place I want to visit again♪

Just a 2-minute walk from Kanda Station, a new restaurant will open in June 2024. The interior features counter and table seating with a warm wooden decor and a pleasant brightness, creating a cozy atmosphere. With roots in Osaka, the restaurant offers dishes that highlight dashi broth, fresh chicken sourced daily, and carefully crafted shochu highballs.
What I ordered: Grilled chicken course (2-hour all-you-can-drink) for 4,500 yen.
- **Starter**: Dashi takoyaki
- **Appetizer**: Pickled okra
- **Appetizer**: Spicy meat miso tofu
- **Cold dish**: Chicken nest potato salad
- **Specialties**: White liver toro-yukke
- **Skewers**: A mix of standard and unique skewers (3 pieces per person)
- **Fried dish**: Generous oil-laden fried chicken
- **Final dish**: Chicken broth dan dan noodles
I was surprised when the lid was lifted to find takoyaki instead of chawanmushi for the starter! The dashi flavor was excellent, making the takoyaki delicious. I hadn’t tried "pickled okra" before, but it was refreshing and tasty. The "spicy meat miso tofu" was perfect for pairing with beer, especially with some pepper added from the table that made it even more enjoyable. The "potato salad" had a homey taste with chunky ingredients, which I really liked.
The "white liver toro-yukke" was cooked at a low temperature, eliminating any gaminess, and paired beautifully with the egg, making it delicious. For the "skewers," I chose negima, bonjiri, and white liver, all perfectly grilled with just the right amount of salt—delicious! The grilled white liver matched the savory sauce, providing a different but equally tasty experience compared to the toro-yukke.
The "generous oil-laden fried chicken" was quite filling! The sweet and sour sauce was unexpectedly light, and the green onions added a nice touch, resulting in a clean plate. The "chicken broth dan dan noodles," known as a popular closing dish, had a rich flavor and was so good that I finished it quickly.
Moreover, the drink menu for the all-you-can-drink option was impressive:
- Beer: Kirin Ichiban
- Shochu highballs with a variety of flavors using Kinmiya shochu
- Many options for highballs made with Riku shochu
- A wide selection of soft drinks
I was pleasantly surprised by the value for money at 4,500 yen—fabulous! The staff were friendly and attentive, making for an enjoyable experience. It's a place you can easily drop by for a solo drink or after work with colleagues. Thank you for the great meal!

Introducing nationwide gourmet food with a focus on Tokyo by a stylish office worker from Ebisu! ☆Instagram⇒@mizumogu0112 Located just a 5-minute walk from Kanda Station, this restaurant is tucked away down a narrow alley. The main specialty is chicken dishes, and the prices are very reasonable, making it easy to order! The interior is clean, with counter seating and tables at the back.
◽︎ Appetizer: Dashi Takoyaki
This comforting appetizer is perfect for the coming season! The takoyaki is fluffy and delicious, and I finished the dashi broth in no time. The restaurant sources this dish from Osaka, and they carefully adjust the flavor of the dipping sauce.
◽︎ Pickled Okra (473 yen)
This pickled okra is truly delicious! It’s flavorful and the pieces are large without any bitterness from the seeds or fibrous texture. It's a menu item you don't see every day, so I highly recommend ordering it first!
◽︎ White Liver Toru Yukke (858 yen)
This liver is absolutely amazing! It’s a dream for liver lovers! The tare sauce is rich and thick, perfectly clinging to the velvety liver. This is a must-order dish!
◽︎ Grilled Skewers (from 198 yen)
I tried classic options like gizzards and hearts, as well as rarer cuts like hanamori (pork throat). All of the pieces are quite large, and the hanamori has about the amount of five pieces on a single skewer! The prices are unbelievably low, and everything tasted fantastic!
◽︎ Negi-daku Yurinchi (748 yen)
This dish is a delight for green onion lovers, with a huge pile of green onions on top! The green onions are mild, so they’re not too spicy. The size of the oil-coated chicken is massive; just one is enough to fill you up. It's so big that you can't finish it in one bite, and with each chew, the delicious meat fat melts in your mouth.
◽︎ Black Honey Kinako Ice Cream (473 yen) and Matcha Gelato (418 yen)
For dessert, the ice cream comes with cute Halloween flags since it's almost the season! It's rare to see such adorable decorations at a restaurant, which certainly delights the female customers. The kinako ice cream has a subtle black honey flavor with a strong kinako taste, while the matcha gelato is refreshingly light and not overly sweet.
That day, I was trying to cut back on alcohol, but there were plenty of soft drink options available, which was great for someone like me who prefers lighter drinks. They even catered to my request to swap a chu-hi for a soft drink without any fuss. It’s nice when they ask for such preferences, as it can be hard to bring them up. The drinks I recommend are the Pear Oroshi Chu-hi and the Sugar-Free Black Tea. The oro shi chu-hi allows you to enjoy the taste of grated pear as you sip, while the sugar-free black tea has a strangely sweet taste despite being unsweetened. They even warmed it up per my request.
Additionally, they changed my oshibori (wet towel) halfway through, which is something I appreciated as such attentive service is uncommon in low-priced establishments. It made for an enjoyable evening filled with friendly conversations with the staff. I learned that they have a branch in Shibuya, and I definitely plan to visit! Thank you!
Features:
☆ Just a quick walk from Kanda Station
☆ A casual spot that’s easy to drop in
☆ Affordable and delicious! Generous portions too
☆ Extensive drink menu
☆ White Liver Toru Yukke is highly recommended

I visited an izakaya in Kanda. For the appetizer, I was surprised to find takoyaki served in a chawanmushi cup! It was flavorful and delicious. First, I tried the manager’s recommendation: pickled okra and white liver toro yukke. The okra was well-seasoned and tasty, and the white liver toro yukke was tender and delicious. The yakitori was beautifully grilled right in front of me at the counter, and both its appearance and flavor were excellent. The "Negitaku Yurin Chicken" was plentiful, with lots of green onions, making it very satisfying. Finally, I had "Chiran Country Sugar-free Black Tea," which could be served warm. Once warmed up, it had a delightful aroma and was surprisingly sweet despite being sugar-free. The alcohol menu also offered non-alcoholic versions, and when I ordered two types of ice cream, they split them into individual servings. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, which made for a great experience.

I used the women's gathering course, and everything was delicious! The staff were friendly and absolutely wonderful. The drinks menu was extensive, making it highly recommended! Although it's a women's gathering course, each dish had a substantial portion, so we left feeling full! All the dishes had a rich flavor, which made it easy to enjoy the drinks. The white liver yukke featured creamy white liver paired with a sweet, rich sauce and the smoothness of the yolk, creating a perfect match! The chicken neck meat was tender and had an addictive seasoning, while the dote-yaki had flavors deeply infused into all the ingredients—so delicious! The side dishes were also tasty, especially the slightly unusual grilled long leek pickles, which had a natural sweetness. After drinking a lot, I ended with a dessert and a soft drink made from domestic unsweetened black tea from Chiran. To my surprise, it was naturally sweet despite being unsweetened! They really pay attention to the beverages. Given the amazing quality at this price, I will definitely return!

I was warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and enjoyed a delicious course meal. The "2-Hour All-You-Can-Drink ◆ Yakitori Course" is a fantastic value!
【Appetizer】 Dashi Takoyaki: At first glance, I thought it was chawanmushi, but it turned out to be "takoyaki." Warm and incredibly tasty!
【Side Dish】 Pickled Okra: Okra is quite rare! Perfect with beer.
【Side Dish】 Spicy Meat Miso Tofu: Just the right amount of spiciness with crunchy chicken cartilage—so good!
【Cold Dish】 Chicken Nest Potato Salad: It had a strong egg flavor, reminiscent of home-cooked meals.
【Special Dish】 White Liver Toroyukke: Smooth texture, easy enough for those who don't like liver.
【Skewers】 A mix of classic and unique skewers, three pieces per person. The unusual "Pork Toro," Ume Shiso, and Negima were all grilled to perfection—absolutely delicious!
【Fried Dish】 Negidaku Yurinchi: Generous portions, crispy, and pairs well with drinks.
【Final Dish】 Homemade Dashi Chicken Soba: A satisfying end to the meal. The gentle flavor made it a perfect finale! ✨
Even though it was an all-you-can-drink option, the range of alcohol selections was impressive!!! The recommended Okinawa Salt Tomato Chuhai was dangerously easy to drink. I was also intrigued by the Osaka Hiyashi Ame Chuhai. I'm so glad I went!

Check out other posts ▶︎ @oreteki_ Chicken and Chuhai Torinos "My Favorite Relaxing Hideaway, Torinos" has newly opened in Kanda, a cozy spot a little away from the busy streets! The staff are really nice, creating a comfortable atmosphere that's wonderful.
My top tips!
- Ordered an incredible value course with a rare all-you-can-drink option—what a deal!
- The dashi takoyaki was delicious and comforting!
- The oil-fried chicken was huge with lots of green onions—such a bargain!
- The rich soup is authentic! The tan tan noodles are amazing as a final treat! ☝️
My number one recommendation! ☞ The white liver "Toro Yukke" is low-temperature cooked, and the freshness is amazing! I recommend mixing it thoroughly before eating! The richness of the egg yolk combined with the liver's flavor, mixed with sweet and spicy sauce, melts in your mouth. This alone is worth coming to the restaurant for. ⭕️

I enjoyed a two-hour drink-all-you-can yakitori course at "Tori no Su," located just a 2-minute walk from Kanda Station! The lively atmosphere and delicious yakitori, along with carefully crafted side dishes, make it a perfect hidden gem for adults.
First, we were served flavorful takoyaki, pickled okra, and meat-miso tofu. Each dish had a gentle taste that whetted our appetites right from the start. Next up was "Tori no Su's potato salad," which boasted a moist texture and rich flavor. The standout dish, the creamy raw liver tartare, was exceptional, melting in your mouth while delivering intense umami.
For the skewers, we received three of both classic yakitori and unique variations, all emphasizing the smoky aroma of charcoal and the juicy quality of the meat. The fried dish, Negidaku Yurinchi, featured plenty of green onions and a special sauce that clung to the chicken, creating an addictive taste.
We finished our meal with homemade chicken soba, lightly flavored with dashi, which provided a refreshing close. If you want to have a great time with friends or if you love yakitori, this is the perfect spot. Be sure to visit "Tori no Su" in Kanda to enjoy their incredible dishes!

The restaurant, based in Osaka, offers a lineup of dishes that showcase authentic dashi (broth). The dashi takoyaki served as a starter is exceptional. From the very beginning, I was blown away, and I enjoyed delicious dishes all the way to the end. The flavors are a bit on the stronger side, perfect for pairing with drinks, but everything was truly tasty. I savored each dish with delight. The staff were also extremely polite and friendly, making for a genuinely pleasant experience throughout.
**Highlights:**
- A bright and clean interior.
- The table seats are lively, making it ideal for groups wanting to have fun together, while there's also a counter for solo diners.
- The kinmiya shochu highball is highly recommended. I tried about three glasses, and they were all delicious and refreshing.
- There is a great variety of drinks available on the all-you-can-drink menu, including kinmiya highballs.
- The dishes are simply delicious; there seems to be no wrong choice!
- There aren't many seats, so making a reservation is advisable.
**What We Ordered:**
- Yakitori Course: 4,500 yen, includes 2 hours of all-you-can-drink
- Appetizer: Dashi Takoyaki
- Starter: Lightly pickled okra
- Starter: Meat miso tofu
- Cold dish: Potato salad with shredded chicken
- Special: White liver toro yukke (low-temperature cooked)
- Skewers: Assorted classic and unique yakitori (3 pieces per person)
- Fried: Chicken in a rich scallion sauce
- Final dish: Dan Dan noodles
**Food Review:**
The course features a variety of dishes that are perfect for enjoying with drinks. The cost-performance of this all-you-can-drink option is outstanding. Not only are the flavors delicious, but the portions are also generous, making it great for those who want to eat and drink to their heart's content! Since we were already quite full, we had the last dan dan noodles as a half serving, which was just the right amount.
The dishes emphasize the natural flavors of the ingredients, and the seasoning matched my preferences perfectly, sparking an appetite that was hard to resist. My top recommendations are the dashi takoyaki served as a starter and the yakitori. Being a chicken restaurant, the quality of the chicken was excellent—juicy and fragrant yakitori made for a wonderful experience. The tall potato salad was comforting and definitely paired well with drinks. The yukke was soft and creamy thanks to the egg yolk, and the scallion chicken was incredibly delicious as well.

I visited an izakaya located just a 2-3 minute walk from JR Kanda Station. I arrived with a friend just after 8:30 PM on a weekday. We had been talking about wanting to drink in Kanda, and since I happened to be there for work, I met up with my friend and casually strolled until we discovered this promising izakaya. As we entered, I overheard a group of four salarymen and office ladies exiting, saying, “That was an amazing izakaya! Let’s come back again!” Hearing that made me think we had struck gold with this place, and in the end, I can confidently say it was a huge hit!
The service was truly outstanding! It was a street-level shop, not located in the basement or on an upper floor, but it’s been a while since I've experienced such pleasant service in a street-level establishment. The young man and woman working the floor were attentive, quick in their actions, and always greeted us with smiles. They promptly addressed our questions and requests.
The food and drinks were also impressive! We had beef tendon stew (dote-yaki), white liver truffle yukke, and skewers like bonjiri and tsukune, all of which were delicious! The izakaya specializes in shochu highballs, using the famous Kintama shochu from Miyazaki. There’s nothing like a Kintama shochu highball! It pairs perfectly with skewers and dote-yaki! The variety of shochu highballs was great, allowing us to enjoy a range of different flavors.
Overall, it was a very comfortable izakaya with excellent cost-performance. I highly recommend this place! I definitely plan to return! Thank you for the meal!

On a weekday around 7 PM, we made a reservation for two and were shown to the counter. The location is about a 3-minute walk from Kanda Station towards Akihabara, set back a bit from the main street. The cost for a large beer is around 600 yen, while chuhai and highball drinks are about 500 yen. Grilled chicken skewers start at about 180 yen each. We ordered several items:
- White liver "toroyukke" (around 780 yen). The manager recommended this dish and it truly lived up to the hype! The liver is incredibly creamy, and it pairs perfectly with the egg yolk and the sweet-salty sauce.
- Braised beef tendon in white miso sauce. The broth is sweet and the meat is tender, with plenty of chunks. The konjac is easy to eat and delicious.
- Lightly pickled okra. The flavor really soaked in, making it the most flavorful okra I've ever had—truly impressive!
- Grilled chicken neck with sansho pepper salt. The grilling is just right, and the lemon on the side complements it well. If you want more of the sansho pepper flavor, there's some on the table to add. Overall, the grilled chicken skewers were perfectly cooked and larger than average, offering a satisfying bite. The garlic chicken skin and tsukune (chicken meatball) were also delicious.
The drinks include unique options like Okinawan salt tomato chuhai and shredded mango highball, creating a great selection of interesting beverages. I personally felt a modern tavern vibe similar to those you might find in places like Gakugei Daigaku on the Toyoko Line, but the manager is personable, cheerful, and unique, making the meal at the counter really enjoyable.
This place seems better suited for small groups rather than large ones, and each dish is prepared with care and is tasty. Smoking is not allowed inside, but smokers can step outside for a puff. If you're unsure about which izakaya to choose in Kanda, I highly recommend this one!

Recently, I visited an izakaya called "Tori-nest" near Kanda Station with a friend. We stumbled upon a great place, so I wanted to share my review. The name "Tori-nest" comes from the idea of a cozy space like a bird's nest. This izakaya specializes in chicken and chuhai (a type of cocktail). Both the food and drinks were outstanding!
We tried several dishes, but the highlight was definitely the tsukune (chicken meatballs) skewers. They were incredibly tender, with a perfectly balanced sweetness in the seasoning. The moment I bit into them, the juices exploded in my mouth—it was pure bliss. Absolutely delicious!
As for drinks, the ginger chuhai was exceptional. I've had ginger chuhai at various izakayas, but I can confidently say I had the best one of my life there. The combination of a generous amount of fresh ginger with Kimiya (a type of shochu) made for a perfect match. I highly recommend this drink, and I encourage everyone to try it!
I feel very fortunate to have discovered such a great izakaya. The interior was clean, and the staff provided courteous and attentive service throughout our visit. I never knew there could be such a comfortable and cost-effective izakaya in Kanda... I wish I had found it sooner. Next time I visit, I plan to order some of the dishes I was curious about but couldn’t try this time because I was so full.
