Yesterday and the day before yesterday, I went around eating soba noodles... I was thinking of having soba noodles again today, but I felt like having grilled fish for a change. It's more like an izakaya. I headed there by bike to make it in time for the lunchtime starting at 11:30. I arrived about 3 minutes late, but there were no other customers. Inside the restaurant, there was only the proprietress. She said the owner had just left to do a delivery... I wondered what that meant... Apparently, he couldn't start cooking without him... Well, I thought it can't be helped and ordered the grilled fish, today's special was salt-grilled salmon... I decided to go for the large portion of rice... I didn't know how much the large portion was, whether it was a service or not, so I ordered the normal size for 700 yen including tax. After about 5 minutes, the owner returned on his bike. He quickly started cooking. At this point, there were no other customers. The salmon seemed to have been prepared in advance and was ready in less than 5 minutes. The large portion of rice was served in a relatively large bowl, but it was only filled to about two-thirds... I felt like the large portion was a bit lacking... As I was looking at the salmon, another customer arrived... They also ordered the daily special. The salmon was a good size, not too big or too small, and had a nice color. It had just the right amount of saltiness. As I ate, my appetite increased rapidly... The rice was just average. I could easily eat two bites of rice after a bite of salmon. It was quite delicious... As I was eating, the neighboring customer was served... Their regular portion of rice seemed to be slightly less than mine... I felt disappointed with my large portion... The total bill was 750 yen. The large portion cost an extra 50 yen... Not expensive, but lacking in content... I left the restaurant thinking that.

Before the live show, I met up with a friend (#^.^#) but they missed a train and I had to wait for about 30 minutes. It was too cold to wait outside, so we decided to jump into this place nearby. The counter was almost full, but the regular customers were friendly and made room for us. They talked to us, took our orders, and were very kind and helpful! I visited around 5:30 pm and everyone was already in a good mood. I ordered a beer and squid with natto. Soon, appetizers and beer were served - renkon kinpira, tsukune, and kombu tsukudani, all delicious. Then, the butter-fried North Yesso scallops that the neighboring table ordered looked so good! After that, the squid with natto arrived, and it was chopped up, making a unique sound. It seemed like they were particular about using regular natto and minced natto, which have different tastes. The squid was plentiful and tasty. Just as I was about to order another beer, my friend said they were arriving, so I had to skip it. I'll definitely visit again when I have more time to enjoy the variety of dishes at "Kitamura"! Thank you for the meal♪

I have become a regular at this shop before payday. One reason is that it's close to my workplace, but in this era of price hikes, the prices here are a pleasant surprise. If you ask, they'll even give you a large portion of rice. I've been eating a lot of meat lately, so today I had a grilled fish set meal. This comforting taste really warms the heart. Just a few days until payday, but I think I can manage somehow.

I finally mustered up the courage to check out a restaurant that had caught my eye for a while. The interior was filled with people in work clothes and almost every seat was taken. Luckily, a spot opened up at the counter with some space between customers, so I took a seat there. The restaurant had the classic Showa era vibe that I had expected. I decided to order the daily special, grilled Atka mackerel. I didn't have high expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the fish and how deliciously fatty it was. The meal exceeded my expectations and I was able to adjust the amount of rice to my liking. It turned out to be a great restaurant, and I was glad I had mustered up the courage to try it out.

Located just a short walk from Kotoni Station on the Tozai Line of the Sapporo Municipal Subway. I sat at a table near the entrance and looked over the menu. I decided to order the "Katsu Toji Set Meal." Looking around, I noticed there were two small raised tatami seating areas for four people each, as well as a table for four and a counter with about six seats. After about 10 minutes, my order arrived. The "katsu toji" was served on a flat plate. I took a bite of the katsu and found it to be cut into easy-to-eat pieces with a good texture. The egg on top was still slightly runny, giving it a nice creamy texture. The broth in the katsu toji had a gentle and pleasant flavor. The set meal also came with a side dish of "unosuki" (seasoned vegetables). The "Katsu Toji Set Meal" costs 700 yen including tax, and the menu also offered options like "Unagi Don" (eel rice bowl) and "Unagi Kabayaki Set Meal" (grilled eel).

I went to Ajin no Fukidamari Kitamura right after exiting the subway exit in Kotoni. It is a long-established restaurant in Kotoni for 38 years. The husband and wife run the restaurant, serving set meals for lunch and alcohol in the evening. This time, I had the katsudon set meal, which was delicious and reasonably priced at 700 yen. They also offer sashimi set meals and eel rice bowls. On December 14, 2019, Ikku from ELT and Taka visited Takatoshi Land and the restaurant was featured on TV.

When it gets hot, the symptoms worsen, it is a designated rare disease by the government. Unfortunately, there is still no medication that suits me. This review is based on my condition and consultation. Likes and comments may be delayed, so thank you in advance. [June 2019] "Ajikawa no Fukidamari Kitamura" is a restaurant that operates as a cafeteria during the day and as an izakaya at night. It is run by a veteran couple. I visited for lunch for the first time with my usual companion. This restaurant is located in the Kotonishi area of Nishi-ku, Sapporo, along a single road. Please check the exact location of the restaurant on Tabelog. I visited around 11:30 am on a weekday. The interior of the restaurant is an old izakaya dining room with table seats, counter seats, and a raised seating area. There was one customer before us and one after us. A call was made to confirm the daily lunch menu, and when asked, "Niku Dofu (meat and tofu)", several reservations were also taken. We sat at a table. Cold barley tea was served immediately. Looking at the menu, many set meals were priced at 700 yen. I ordered the "Katsu Toji Set Meal" and my usual companion ordered the "Tonkatsu Set Meal". After waiting for 11 minutes, the two "700 yen set meals" arrived. Katsu Toji Set Meal: The freshly fried katsu with a thin and easy-to-eat crust is not very large but sufficient in terms of price. The egg and onion toji with watercress has just the right amount of salt. The small side dish is a water-based sesame dressing with pickles, white cabbage pickles, and miso soup with white cabbage and aburaage. The rice was decent. Price: 700 yen (tax included) Tonkatsu Set Meal: The freshly fried tonkatsu with a thin and easy-to-eat crust is not very large but sufficient in terms of price. It comes with shredded cabbage, tomato, lemon wedge, and mayonnaise on the side. The small side dish includes pickles and miso soup. The rice was the same as the Katsu Toji Set Meal. Price: 700 yen (tax included) The set meals are not bad for 700 yen. It is a convenient and homey set meal for regular use. The small side dishes could use a bit more flavor. I had water-based pickled daikon radish after a long time. It used to be common in the Showa era but is rarely seen in the Heisei era. It's a waste, it has the taste of the Showa era. With a little effort, it could be much tastier. I'm curious about the "Unagi Kabayaki Set Meal for 2000 yen". I might try that next time. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Kotoji Station area. After training at the training center, went for a walk and found a new restaurant - "Fukidamari". It's not a very appealing name though, haha. Curious to see how they showcase their flavors. Inside, there were two regular elderly customers and one person who quickly finished a sashimi set and beer and left. I ordered the pork cutlet set for 700 yen and waited about 10 minutes. The cutlet was freshly fried but a bit oily and tough. The seasoning with soy sauce and sugar was decent. The rice was just average. Overall, it was a typical local set meal. It filled me up though. Thank you for the meal.

On February 16, 2017, at 12:00 PM, I happened to be in Sapporo, in the Nishi Ward, at 1-14 24ken 4-jou 5-chome. I came out of Exit 5 of the Tozai Subway Line at Kotoni Station and turned left immediately. Among several shops lined up, there were red lanterns hanging outside. The menu was displayed on the exterior wall, with most items priced around 700 yen. I decided to try it out for lunch. I passed through a curtain with "Kitamura" written in black letters on a white background and opened the cloudy glass door. Inside, it had a cozy izakaya atmosphere run by a couple, possibly the owner and his wife, from Haboro. There was a 4-person table on the right with three elderly women sitting there. On the left, there was a raised tatami seating area. The kitchen was surrounded by counter seats, and at the back, there was a spacious room. I arrived a little before noon, and soon after, a group of two men, a solo diner, and a solo female diner also came in. It seemed like a well-loved local izakaya, with articles from magazine features displayed on the walls. The lady, possibly the landlady, kindly served hot tea. I ordered the katsudon set for 700 yen. The pork cutlet was fried after I placed my order, leaving a crispy texture on the coating. This was because it was not a typical katsudon, but a style where a lightly cooked egg with the broth was placed on top of the cutlet. The toppings included onions and watercress. The broth was light and low in salt. The set came with rice, miso soup, a side dish, and pickles. The miso soup was made by transferring the broth from a pot on the counter into individual bowls. It contained shredded daikon radish and daikon leaves. It was delicious. The side dish was a miso-glazed chicken and eggplant. The pickles included Napa cabbage, cucumber, and carrot, pickled in the morning, with a slightly strong saltiness, but with added pickled ginger, it was clear that they were homemade. The ginger pork dish also looked tempting. The evening menu also offered attractive dishes at reasonable prices.

This place has been on my mind for a while, but I never got around to visiting it. There is a red cylindrical lantern-like sign that says "Ajimu no Fukidamari Kitamura," which lights up brightly at night to attract customers. When I entered, there was one regular customer already there, displaying quite a familiar presence. More regulars arrived one after another, chatting with the owner while puffing on cigarettes. However, there were no noisy eaters or rowdy groups, just well-behaved regulars, which was reassuring. The owner, who is quite elderly, manages the place single-handedly, swiftly handling daily specials and various orders from customers, showing years of experience in the restaurant business. I ordered the tonkatsu set meal and while waiting, I observed the suspicious movements of the person next to me, which raised some eyebrows, but soon enough, the meal arrived. The set meal came with a soft, white towel with a gentle texture, which was much appreciated. The ambiance inside the restaurant was nice and dimly lit, giving off an eco-friendly vibe with natural light during the day. When the owner asked a regular customer at the back if they wanted the lights on, the customer jokingly replied that it would be a waste to turn on the lights during the day, creating a heartwarming scene. Despite not having high expectations for a 700 yen set meal, the tonkatsu was thin and lacked thickness. The meal included miso soup, pickles, rice, and a side dish of hijiki, offering a simple Japanese-style set meal. The tonkatsu was thin but delicious, and the overall taste of the dishes reminded me of home-cooked meals prepared by my dad. The food was decent, making this restaurant a gathering place for regular customers. ☆☆☆ Next Episode Preview ☆☆☆ Stay tuned for the next episode where I explore the tempting unadon!

Last year, on the show "Dosanko Wide," they featured a special on "Oyaji Gourmet" and did a live broadcast from this restaurant. I finally mustered up the courage to go in because it seemed like a high-class place, even though it had a casual izakaya vibe! They are open non-stop for lunch and dinner, only taking a break around New Year's. The master and his wife welcomed me with a classic izakaya atmosphere, with sunken kotatsu seating, tables, and a counter. The set meals are available all day for around 700 yen, with the most expensive being the eel rice bowl. This time, I opted for the pork cutlet and egg rice bowl set. The walls were lined with bottles kept by regular customers. The pork cutlet and egg topping looked great! And there was plenty of sauce, so it was bound to turn into a pork cutlet rice bowl later on. The set also came with miso soup, pickles, and a small side dish, which on that day was simmered hijiki seaweed and fried cabbage. Everything was freshly made and steaming hot, whetting my appetite. The pork cutlet was cut into bite-sized pieces, with a nice thickness, and the runny egg topping was just divine. The light broth soaked into it, making the juicy pork even more flavorful. I quickly dug into the rice and enjoyed the gentle flavor of the simmered hijiki seaweed. The miso soup was just right. After eating continuously, I naturally finished with the "pork cutlet rice bowl style," which still had plenty of sauce and the flavors were delicious. As I thought about leaving, the pleasant surprise of "we'll include a small dessert" made my day. It was a small portion, but it was enough to leave me satisfied. This midday meal gave me the energy I needed for the rest of the day. As I was leaving, two other customers were also eating, and they both gave me a polite farewell. It made sense that there were many elderly regulars at this restaurant. I had planned to have a tempura rice bowl at "Mitoku," but I decided to save it for next time. Thank you, Master, for the wonderful meal!
