I made a reservation and visited on a Friday night. The interior was not very spacious and the place was packed. It felt like a French-style bar, offering a wide variety of dishes and wines, all reasonably priced and delicious! Although it took a little while for the food to arrive, it was nice to be in a place where we could relax.

**Review of Bistro Opened in September 2023** Visited a bistro located along the Shinnobudori street in Sendagi, which opened 1 year and 2 months ago in September 2023. As of May 2023, one shop has closed, leaving a total of 53 establishments remaining. The interior has a calm atmosphere based on dark brown wood grain. Upon entering, there are four tables with two seats each in front and two tables with two seats each on the left side, making a total of 12 seats, which is fairly spacious. At the time of my visit, there were two groups of three customers. Shortly after, only one more group of three entered, indicating that it was relatively quiet. The clientele was evenly split between men and women. The service was provided by a female staff member who was gentle, smiling, and attentive. The menu includes a lunch course for 2,990 yen (tax included), which consists of a drink, bread, amuse-bouche, appetizer, main dish, dessert, and coffee. The drink options include: - Sparkling wine: Cuvee Laurent Brut (France) - White wine: Casa del Cerro Sauvignon Blanc (Chile) & today's white wine - Red wine: Casa del Cerro Merlot (Chile) & today's red wine - Beer: Draft beer (Premium Malts) & non-alcoholic beer (Aal Free) - Soft drinks: Orange juice, grape juice, ginger ale, apple juice, oolong tea For the main dish, options are: - Fish: Seared sea bass with orange sauce - Chicken: Roasted forest chicken breast with mushroom cream sauce - Pork: Grilled pork shoulder with red wine sauce - Beef: Roasted beef sirloin Bordeaux style (+800 yen) Coffee options include coffee, tea, and espresso. I ordered the lunch course for 2,990 yen, which included: - Draft beer (Premium Malts) - Liver mousse - Homemade bread - Assorted appetizers - Grilled pork shoulder with red wine sauce - Assorted desserts - Iced coffee The total wait time for service was about 58 minutes. Below is the timeline of my order: - 11:47 Order placed - 11:51 4 minutes later: Draft beer served - 11:53 6 minutes later: Amuse-bouche served - 12:05 18 minutes later: First round of bread served - 12:07 20 minutes later: Appetizer served - 12:25 38 minutes later: Second round of bread served - 12:41 54 minutes later: Main dish served - 12:45 58 minutes later: Dessert and coffee served The draft beer (Premium Malts) was delicious. The homemade bread was hearty and chewy; I had a total of two pieces. The amuse-bouche was liver mousse, which was very tasty when spread on baguette. The appetizer platter was beautifully garnished with sunny lettuce, cucumber, red and yellow bell peppers, salmon, ham, fish paste, bean sprouts, and kaiware radish. It was truly delightful. The main dish, grilled pork shoulder with red wine sauce, was served on a deep brown round plate with potatoes, purple sweet potatoes, eggplant, turnips, yams, mushrooms, and broccoli arranged artistically. The grilled pork was tender and flavorful. For dessert, a beautiful assortment was presented on a white round plate featuring yogurt sorbet, pastry, strawberries, and grapes, which was very enjoyable. The coffee served was iced coffee. The dining environment had a calm ambiance, and the service was gentle and attentive, creating a comfortable atmosphere. Payment options were diverse, allowing for various cashless transactions. The lunch course for 2,990 yen included a draft beer, bread, amuse-bouche, appetizer, main dish, dessert, and coffee. The pleasant ambiance, attentive service, and delicious food made for a great experience.

My favorite area, Yanesen, has recently seen a few new French restaurants popping up. Just the other day, I visited a restaurant called au soleil tarochi in Sendagi, and this time I went to Brasserie La Bonite, which is also located just a short walk from Sendagi Station. This cozy little place has six two-person tables. Like soleil tarochi, it opened in 2023. Despite being on the busy Shinobazu Street where cars zoom by, the interior has a calm and stylish atmosphere that's completely separate from the hustle and bustle outside. I was the first customer and got a window seat, so I enjoyed some wine while doing a bit of people-watching. The staff consists of a soft-spoken chef and a very polite, cheerful waitress, creating a great dynamic. The waitress explained the dishes well and was very attentive, making for a comfortable dining experience. The lunch course is priced at 2,890 yen and includes an appetizer platter, a main course (choice of fish, chicken, pork, or beef; beef incurs an additional charge), a dessert, and coffee, tea, or espresso. I started with a glass of Merrijo Fontdi Sauvignon Blanc, and to my surprise, since the last pour was a bit smaller than usual, I was served an additional Viognier as a complimentary treat. Then, I paired my main dish with a glass of Une Petite Cuvee au Poire at 960 yen. Later, I noticed on the receipt that the first glass hadn’t been charged! While the Viognier was complimentary, I felt a bit guilty about it. Now, here are some brief impressions of the dishes. First, an amuse-bouche was served—a rillettes flavored with dark beer. It was smooth without being greasy, and I enjoyed it spread on the accompanying bread. Next came the appetizer platter, featuring pickles, smoked salmon, salami, and bonito prepared in a bagna càuda style, arranged beautifully with a green salad and prosciutto in the center. It was visually striking and particularly impressive was the bonito, which stood up remarkably well to the meat. You could really taste the chef's skill in bringing out the flavors. The green salad dressing was based on olive oil, light and fresh, and paired well with the bread. For the main course, I chose the fish dish, which happened to be bouillabaisse that day. This dish truly brought out the deliciousness of the seafood. According to the waitress, the soup is made by simmering fish frames and shellfish, resulting in a rich, complex flavor profile that also has a clear finish—it was beautifully done. While it may not be obvious in the pictures, mushrooms were incorporated, creating a wonderful blend of summer-like Provençal flavors with autumn ingredients. Finally, for dessert, I had a chocolate cake accompanied by caramel and walnut ice cream. The chocolate cake had deep cocoa notes and a bittersweet richness that paired beautifully with coffee. The caramel and walnut ice cream delivered a gentle sweetness with a hint of nuttiness, making it a lovely finish to the meal. Thank you for the delightful experience!

I visited on a holiday night. Since it always seems to be crowded, I made a reservation. The cozy atmosphere and casual French cuisine were delicious. The oysters were large and plump. The pork was tender, and paired with the sauce, it made me want to drink more wine! The prices were relatively reasonable, so I definitely want to go back.

This was my third visit to the restaurant for lunch. I arrived around noon, and there was only one table left available. The appetizer, a chilled potato soup, was perfect for summer with its light flavor, yet it had a rich umami taste. For the main course, I ordered the pork with shiso sauce. The flavor of the shiso added depth to the dish, and I enjoyed it very much.

I had lunch at a restaurant I've been curious about on Saturday. The appetizer was generous in portion and incredibly delicious! For the main dish, I chose fish, which was cooked perfectly and paired with a tasty nori sauce. The dessert was a firm pudding accompanied by a refreshing yogurt sorbet, and the bread was so good that I had a second helping. Everything was delicious and offered great value for money. I definitely want to go back!

Just 30 seconds from Exit 2 of Sendagi Station, this bistro (brasserie) offers a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for casual dining. On this day, there was no service staff, so the chef was handling everything solo, but his passion for cooking remained unwavering, and he delivered high-quality dishes. We enjoyed fresh oysters, Burgundy snails, beef tripe in tomato sauce, and roasted duck breast with sautéed foie gras, sharing everything and having a great time together! Although it was my first meeting with the owner chef, he created a comforting and familiar atmosphere. The name of the restaurant is inspired by the specialty product from his hometown in Kochi Prefecture, which is bonito.

A bistro near Sendagi Station. It was almost full and quite lively, with takeout customers as well. It took some time for the dishes to be served, but there was a wide variety of menu options. They also had various wines available by the glass, including some that were not on the list, and everything was delicious.

I visited for lunch only on the weekend. I entered right at 11:30 when they opened. ◆ The lunch course includes a drink, appetizer, main dish, dessert, and a post-meal drink. I was surprised that I could choose alcoholic beverages for the drink. Before the appetizer, we were served a small dish of surf clams. The appetizers were quite luxurious, including marinated salmon, bonito, garlic sautéed firefly squid, salami, and salad. For the main dish, I chose the fish bouillabaisse, which intrigued me the most compared to chicken, pork, and beef. The main white fish was horsemackerel, accompanied by a variety of seafood such as clams, mussels, scallops, and shrimp, along with plenty of vegetables like broccoli. Finally, after dessert and the post-meal drink, I was amazed to find that all this was just 2,890 yen per person. It seems like a volunteer effort! I highly recommend it. Thank you for the meal!

A French restaurant opened last year on the site of an old curry shop. On this day, we had two types of salads and sakura sea bream braised in cherry blossom sauce. The sauce for the sakura sea bream was truly exquisite, and I imagined that this is what it would be like if the main dish was inspired by sakura mochi. The moment I took a bite, it felt like spring in my mouth. It's hard to believe that this quality and portion size, including drinks, comes to only around 3,000 yen per person.

I visited a new restaurant for the first time and started with a happy hour, toasting with beer and sparkling wine. I ordered a platter of appetizers that included escargot, chicken liver mousse, salmon with cream cheese and caviar, prosciutto, and pickles. It was quite a generous portion! The bread was also delicious, and I ended up asking for more several times. We enjoyed dishes like sautéed oysters and duck leg confit, and the staff helped us choose wine to pair with our meal. All of this came to just a little over 10,000 yen! It was really affordable and delicious.

A wonderful brasserie has opened up in my friend's neighborhood. ⭐︎ The appetizer platter included a variety of black whelks with spices, and it was a generous serving! It even came with liver pâté, making for a delightful start. ⭐︎ Then there was steamed conger eel with foie gras and daikon, ⭐︎ pan-fried cod milt in a burnt butter sauce, ⭐︎ and roasted deer loin with poivre blanc sauce. The meat was tender and the sauce was magical! I paired it with a recommended Rhône wine that had a refined and complex flavor, which was just perfect. ⭐︎ The homemade bread was delicious on its own, but the sauces from each dish were so good that I cleaned my plate with the bread and asked for refills three times! With a great wine selection too, I’m definitely coming back!

A new restaurant has opened, and I’ve been curious about it since I pass by every day. I visited on a weekday evening and there were two other groups there. They mentioned that they can serve wines not listed on the menu, so I made some requests and they brought them out. The prices are a bit high, but it’s definitely worth a visit. I’d like to go back again soon.

The food is absolutely delicious! I visited for lunch, and the appetizer was so generous with meat and salmon that it felt like a main dish. The bouillabaisse was also tasty and served in a large portion, and the pork main dish was juicy and fantastic. The staff were friendly, and the chef's personality really shone through. It's a family-friendly place, and I highly recommend it!
