When it comes to Genghis Khan in Susukino, the dominant presence is the newly opened Daruma store. I decided to have dinner there during work and I must say, I had a delicious meal. Eating out, especially for Genghis Khan, can be hit or miss, but the legendary Daruma's Genghis Khan did not disappoint. On the opening day of Daruma's new store, there were many bouquets lined up outside the store and people were already waiting in line, so I parked my car in a coin parking lot and walked in. I wanted to have a drink like oolong tea or draft beer with the Genghis Khan, but it was dinner time so I had to skip it. The lunch was late, so I couldn't eat the rice and sirloin, but I will save it for next time. The first floor was already full, but there were still seats available on the second floor, so I went up. The staff guided me to the second floor where I could see the place filling up quickly. The store was shiny and clean, and the charcoal grill was already set up. I sat down and the first vegetables were placed on the grill. Then the Genghis Khan and top meat arrived, and they were delicious. The well-balanced Daruma sauce enhanced the flavor of the tender lamb meat, and adding some chili and garlic made it even better. I wanted to try the soup at the end, but I was already full. The fresh lamb meat they source every day was flavorful and juicy, and the meat was cooked perfectly. The top meat was like a mini steak, satisfying and delicious. I visited on a Saturday night. It was after 8 pm and quite crowded. I checked other places but this one had the shortest line. It's a place where you can eat only Genghis Khan (grilled lamb), so the turnover is relatively fast. Maybe because they don't have table seats. I ordered regular Genghis Khan meat and fillet. Personally, I preferred the Genghis Khan meat. Thank you for the meal ☺︎

I went to the restaurant around 7:30 PM on September 10th. When I arrived, there was a wait for 10 groups, but surprisingly it went smoothly and I was able to be seated in about 30 minutes. The lamb meat was very tender and paired well with Sapporo Classic beer. The pickled vegetables served as an appetizer were delicious and made me want to eat more rice.

It seems like a popular Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue) restaurant in Susukino. There are several branches near the hotel, and this one seems to have recently opened as we were able to get a table around 5:30 pm without it being full. However, soon after, more and more customers arrived and a line quickly formed. A leader-like staff member efficiently managed the situation, but it felt a bit too business-like. Perhaps it's necessary to maintain a high turnover rate. The menu is limited, catering to those looking to enjoy Genghis Khan in a short amount of time, rather than for leisurely dining. Nonetheless, we were able to thoroughly enjoy Genghis Khan in a short period of time.

I happened to visit on a paid day off at 5:15 pm on Friday. There were 3 groups waiting, and 2 of them were Korean tourists. I waited for a little over 40 minutes, but since it's a new restaurant with plenty of seats, the wait might not be as long as other places. Now, for the first order. I chose the low-carb option and ordered a large glass of Perfect Suntory beer, which was a bit too much. I ended up also having the Sui Jin soda. For the meat, I ordered the basic Genghis Khan, premium meat, and fillet. It was just my daughter and I, but we ended up ordering extra because it was so delicious. We ordered 3 servings of premium meat. They asked if we wanted vegetables on first, which seemed like a lot, but by the end, it was just the right amount. I was worried about the mutton, but it didn't have any gamey taste and my perception of mutton changed. Even the regular Genghis Khan was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I happened to walk by and decided to enter. I was asked if it was okay to include vegetables, to which I replied "yes." I ordered a serving of Genghis Khan. I filled up my stomach with a plate of vegetables and meat. Well, I had already eaten a lot before that, so it can't be helped. Next time, I'll try ordering the premium meat.

Genghis Khan and Jouniku. There were a lot of Chinese customers. I visited around 8 pm and there were about 10 groups waiting in line. As you go south from the main store, the lines gradually decrease, but all the shops have queues. Personally, I liked the strong soy sauce-based sauce more than the meat. The combination with garlic is also good.

A new restaurant opened near my regular stay in Sapporo on July 4th this year. Today, I was seated on the second floor. The interior was clean and well laid out, with lockers conveniently located near the stairs right in front of the counter. I was led to a table at the back, where a fan was running nearby - much appreciated in this season! I ordered a draft beer and a cola to start. The server asked if it was okay to start grilling the vegetables first, to which I happily agreed. I ordered Genghis Khan 2, premium meat 1, tenderloin 1, and rice (medium). Everything was delicious, but if you're planning to eat a lot, Genghis Khan alone should be enough. It's best when you pour plenty of sauce on it. I also enjoyed adding garlic and chili peppers from the table. I added an extra Genghis Khan 1, but I couldn't finish it. Despite not eating much, I settled the bill for today. The quality and taste at Daruma-san are satisfying, but the staff didn't pay much attention to customers' Genghis Khan pot or the progress of their meal, neglecting things like changing the oil, clearing empty dishes, or taking additional orders. Well, it's still a new restaurant, so I guess staff training is still ongoing. Maybe once they start getting long queues like other places, they'll naturally improve. Personally, I'm happy when there are fewer queues at a restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

Introduced by an acquaintance from Hokkaido, I visited Daruma, a Genghis Khan restaurant. The other branches in the same chain were crowded with people, so I managed to slip into this one just 20 minutes before the last order. I ordered Genghis Khan and a large draft beer, which arrived shortly. The beer was huge and tasted great, especially since I was quite thirsty. They first served vegetables like onions, then the lamb meat... hmm, is this all? Well, I guess it's understandable due to the high cost of living, but it felt a bit lacking. However, the taste was good, so it felt like a fair trade-off. The staff's movements and service were flawless, they informed me about the last order time and nearby chain stores, and even communicated in English when needed. Overall, that part was really good.

I thought it would be crowded during the consecutive holidays, so I lined up 20 minutes before the opening. There were 12 or 13 people ahead of me, but I managed to get a seat on the first round. I ordered a vegetable platter, Genghis Khan, sirloin, fillet, and kimchi. I usually only eat lamb, so I haven't had mutton in a while, but it was delicious with no gamey taste and a rich flavor. The onions and leeks were also cooked in sheep fat, making them even sweeter and tasty.

Ever since Hokkaido's Genghis Khan barbecue became popular, Daruma has always had long lines, and as someone who doesn't like waiting in line, I usually just pass by and skip it. However, this time, luckily there was no line, so I visited after a long time. It seems like this store is still relatively new, located on the outskirts of Susukino, which might be why it was easier to get in. On my way back, I saw that the other stores had the usual long lines extending outside. Daruma, the long-established Genghis Khan restaurant in Sapporo. It's been a while, but the sauce here is just as amazing as I remember. Honestly, Daruma's sauce is divine. It's incredibly delicious. It brought back memories from the past. I used to finish with barley tea and mix the leftover sauce with barley tea, then pour it over the remaining rice for a classic finish of tea-soaked rice, but no one seemed to be doing that now, so maybe they stopped? If they still do it, I'll try the tea-soaked rice next time. However, the short summer in Hokkaido. Everyone lining up in a row, sweating and enjoying Genghis Khan barbecue, the scene remains unchanged from the past and is still fantastic.

When it comes to Genghis Khan in Susukino, everyone knows this famous restaurant. Both the first and second floors have counter seating, so even solo diners can feel comfortable. The draft beer is tempting, but as a Sapporo fan, I chose the bottled Classic. The premium meat and the appetizer of pickled vegetables make the beer go down smoothly. The premium meat is elegant with no unpleasant smell and sweet fat. The pickled vegetables refresh the palate with acidity. When the beer is half gone, I ordered rice and enjoyed Genghis Khan and kimchi. I added garlic and chili to the sauce. After finishing the beer and meat, I had the rice with tea poured over it for a tea-soaked finish. Since it has only been open for a week, the lines are more manageable compared to the main branch and other locations, and the restaurant is clean, making it a recommended introductory spot.

I ordered two draft beers (650 yen each, total 1,300 yen), the first vegetable dish (170 yen), appetizers (220 yen), Genghis Khan lamb dish (1,280 yen), kimchi (385 yen), and fillet meat (1,680 yen) for a total of 5,035 yen. I visited on July 4th (Tuesday) at 5:30 pm, shortly after the opening. Congratulations on the opening. Overall, the prices are quite high. The draft beer at 650 yen is expensive and the glass wasn't cold, so it wasn't very enjoyable. Since it's a new opening, I understand the staff might still be getting used to things. They seemed to be trying their best, but they were mostly foreign (Nepalese or Indonesian?), so it's understandable. I was hoping for some opening specials or something, but there was nothing special about it. The lamb dish was good quality but really expensive. Thank you for the meal.

Today I tried Genghis Khan for the first time and my impression of lamb meat has changed significantly. The meat was tender and did not have a strong smell. It was very easy to eat. I would like to visit again when I come to Hokkaido next time.
