Today's lunch, I decided to try a ramen shop in Kita-ku that I had been curious about for a while. The shop opens at 11 o'clock, so I aimed to arrive around 11:30. I arrived almost as planned, and the parking lot was empty so I parked easily and went inside the shop. There were two groups of customers ahead of me. I was seated at the counter and noticed that the air conditioning wasn't working well, making the inside a bit warm. I quickly looked at the menu and decided to order the Vegetable Ramen (Salt) in a large size. It cost ¥1130 including tax (¥980 for the ramen and ¥150 for the large size), which is not cheap. What caught my interest about this shop was the thick slices of chashu. When the order arrived after about 5-6 minutes, the first thing I noticed was the pork. Oh!? It was smaller and thinner than I expected! I thought it would be thicker, but looking at the photos on Tabelog, maybe it just looked that way... Even though I usually don't eat thin pork slices, I decided to try it today. It looked decent and seemed to be well seasoned, so I thought it might be okay. The soup was not too salty and tasted delicious! It felt more like tantanmen than salt ramen, but it was good. As I started eating the noodles that were well coated in the tasty soup, I found them to be delicious. The noodles were the typical curly egg noodles found in this kind of ramen, and they paired well with the soup. The vegetables were crunchy and added a nice touch to the dish. However, the pork was a bit disappointing. I was expecting it to be at least three times thicker than what was served. I was considering adding extra pork, but given the situation, I was glad I didn't. I followed a similar pattern to Jiro-style ramen, digging through the noodles and eating them first, then moving on to the vegetables. As I approached the end, I couldn't help but leave some soup behind. I felt bad for leaving it, so I lifted the bowl and finished it off. If the pork had been thicker, my rating would have been higher, but it was a bit disappointing.

In Sapporo, Hokkaido, in the Kita-ku area, there is a ramen shop called Maid. I had always wanted to try it but never had the chance until now. It's located near the Chuo Bus Driving School. I ordered the miso ramen and a small curry set. I originally wanted to order curry as well, but it wasn't on the menu that day. However, when I asked, they did have curry available. As mentioned in other reviews, the couple who run the shop are very friendly and it shows in the delicious and kind flavor of the ramen. Their hospitality is really great and refreshing, especially since many places lack good customer service nowadays. The taste is well-balanced, with a hint of sweetness from the onions and menma, and the miso is on the sweeter side. The char siu has a nice seared flavor which adds a nice touch. They offer miso and spicy miso options, although the spiciness is not too strong. I'm curious about their spicy miso too. I'm also interested in trying their other toppings and maybe their tsukemen since it's been hot lately. The sign outside is stylish with katakana characters. Overall, it was a great meal! Thank you! I was connected with the owner of the restaurant on social media, but I didn't know that they ran a ramen shop. They approached me at a live event the day before and invited me, so I decided to visit the next day. It's a bit away from the center of Sapporo, but I arrived around 1 pm and there were many customers! I sat at the counter and ordered the spicy miso vegetable ramen and gyoza. My wife ordered the miso ramen and we also got some Sapporo Classic beer, which is a limited edition in Hokkaido. The gyoza had a thick and chewy skin, and the filling was delicious. The spicy miso vegetable ramen had a good balance of sweet miso and spiciness, with plenty of vegetables and melt-in-your-mouth chashu. The couple who run the place are amazing, and they have been loved by the locals for 30 years. I will definitely visit again when I come back to Sapporo.

It's a pleasant experience to be served by a nice couple. Miso ramen is served! As soon as you taste the soup, you will be impressed. The sweetness overflowing from the sautéed vegetables spreads in your mouth. The richness of the miso follows, enveloped by the gentle aroma of ginger. It somehow brings a nostalgic feeling, yet it is a wonderful soup that fits perfectly in this era. I make ramen myself, but making sautéed vegetables like this is ideal. The noodles are traditional egg noodles, but they paired well with the soup. The bamboo shoots are good, and the chashu surprisingly has a good thickness, with a great taste and tenderness. Despite the distance, this is a dish that makes you want to eat it again!

I had miso ramen and a little curry. I love the warm atmosphere that greeted me as soon as I entered the restaurant. The miso ramen had a rich miso broth that was delicious. The medium-thick curly noodles were firm and the crunchy bean sprouts added a nice texture to the peaceful miso ramen. The curry was quite generous in portion, medium spicy, and had a nostalgic yet delicious taste filled with the umami of vegetables. I really love this gentle atmosphere.

It's rare for me to go on an expedition to the area of Shin-Kotoni. I drank a lot the day before and couldn't wake up until noon... Even when I woke up, my head hurt, but I thought I had to eat something to recover, so I visited this place recommended by a friend. There are plenty of parking spaces in front of the store. Inside the store, there are about seven counter seats and three table seats. The friendly couple running the place had a nice atmosphere. The service was also good. Now, what to order. The menu is extensive and I was indecisive, but since I planned to finish with one meal today, I went for the luxurious miso kimchi ramen with vegetable toppings. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The taste was a gentle, sweet miso flavor, very soothing. The vegetables were crunchy and there was quite a lot of them. Good value for the price. The homemade kimchi was just right for refreshing the palate. I dug in and ate the noodles with all my might. It was quite a challenge to finish, but I managed to clean the bowl. The place seemed to have many local regulars and I think it's a restaurant loved by the community. I want to try a different flavor next time!

On a certain weekday, I visited a ramen restaurant in Kita-ku, Shin-Kotoni 7-jo for lunch after a long time. The restaurant is always full of cars parked outside, and when I arrived, it was quiet as customers had just left, but gradually more customers started coming in, creating a lively atmosphere. Since it was my second visit, I decided to go for the salt ramen with a side of curry set (900 yen) instead of the miso ramen that I had last time. The lovely waitress took my order and soon the dishes arrived. The ramen had a nice color and the noodles were medium-thick with a springy texture. The clear and golden soup had a subtle saltiness, with a well-balanced umami flavor that made me want to drink it all up. The toppings included crunchy bean sprouts and a little bit of onion, green onions, deliciously sweet bamboo shoots, and seared pork chashu that was a bit pricey but so tasty that I decided to try the chashu ramen next time. As for the curry, it was surprisingly made with koji, giving it a sweet and rich flavor that was different from regular curry. It had meat and soft carrots as toppings. If you're looking for a delicious Sapporo ramen, this place is worth considering. Thank you for the meal.

The ramen restaurant "Maido" has a catchy Katakana curtain that gives a warm and welcoming atmosphere. It seems to have many regular customers from the neighborhood. The menu is so extensive that it's hard to decide what to order. The "Vegetable Ramen" with miso soup has a slightly sweet and mild taste. The vegetables included are bean sprouts, Chinese cabbage, cabbage, carrots, spinach, and onions - a generous serving. The chashu pork seemed to be seared on the surface, making it tender and juicy. The ramen also comes with green onions and seasoned bamboo shoots. The portion size is quite large, so you'll leave feeling full. The restaurant closes early, so it might be difficult to go for dinner after work, but it's a convenient location with parking for a weekend lunch.

It's been a while since I last visited. The signboard has been cleaned up and now it's in Katakana. My favorite vegetable ramen and the side menu curry here are of such high quality that they don't feel like just side dishes. This time, I consulted with my stomach and chose the spicy vegetable miso ramen. I passed on the curry. In the kitchen, flames engulf the stir-fried vegetables being prepared. The soup is a light reddish color. I took a sip of the soup and my pores instantly opened up. The noodles go well with the diced vegetables. Thank you for the meal. Previously, there used to be a service coupon for each bowl of ramen, but I wonder if they have stopped it now or if it was just a one-time thing. The truth is unknown.

During the extremely cold season, I decided to visit this restaurant that I had been curious about for a while. The parking lot in front of the store and on the side made me feel at ease. I wanted to order the ankake yakisoba that I had heard good things about, but it was sold out due to limited quantity. I will try again next time for the ankake yakisoba. I ended up ordering the miso ramen instead. The friendly atmosphere created by the nice couple running the place was very soothing. However, I was a bit concerned about the slightly high price of 900 yen. The soup had a slightly sweet flavor and it paired well with the noodles. It had a rich taste, but the deliciousness was not boring. I plan to visit again soon, partly to seek redemption for the sold-out yakisoba.

I ordered the chashu ramen on my first visit and was surprised by the large portion. The chashu was even submerged in the broth. Highly recommended for when you want a hearty meal!

This time, we decided to go to a friend's house for a sleepover and the next day we had ramen for breakfast as there was nothing else to eat. For lunch, we were deciding where to go when our regular meeting started. We thought about going to Sanpa○, but then we found a new place online that we wanted to try. However, when we arrived, there was a long line, so we decided to go to another place nearby that looked nice. We ordered different menu items and enjoyed trying new dishes. The "Slightly Spicy Stamina Tsukemen" had a unique flavor with a hint of bonito flakes, while the "Ramen and a Bit of Curry Set (Salt flavor)" was light and had an old-fashioned taste. The curry in the set also had a unique flavor with a hint of spices. We also tried the "Spicy Miso Ramen (Spicy)" which was not very spicy despite adding the special spicy seasoning provided. Overall, the experience was good but the prices were a bit high and some of the flavors were different from what we expected.

In my case, when I leave a comment, I always end it with "Thank you as always." Even if I write the comment in the morning, it's not guaranteed that it will be read in the morning. That's why I deliberately use "Thank you as always" regardless of the time, instead of saying "Good morning" or "Good evening." The name of the restaurant I visited today is "Maido," so that's why I do that (laughs). Well, this is my first visit to this place. I heard about it a while ago from a real-life review, but was it that time? They said you're not allowed to take photos and that the ramen is nothing special. So, I hadn't visited until today. Anyway, today I visited without any preconceptions. I sat at the counter and ordered soy sauce ramen with a small bowl of rice. You see, when it's your first time at a place, you start with soy sauce to see how it is. Miso can be judged by its miso sauce even if the soup is not served, right? But with salt, if the soup is not served, it's risky. So, I chose soy sauce because I think it's easier to judge the soup's quality that way. It took about 4 minutes until the food was served, quite fast, isn't it? The noodles are Tamago noodles from Morizumi. The soup is a clear chicken bone and pork bone broth. The toppings are simple, with rolled pork belly chashu, green onions, and bamboo shoots. In terms of appearance and taste, it felt like a classic diner ramen. I quite liked it. In my case, I tend to feel nostalgic for ramen with plenty of umami from chemical seasonings (laughs). This ramen here, I wonder if the miso ramen would be delicious with this soup and toppings? There's a hint of garlic-like flavor in it, and it almost stays within the Sapporo ramen style. Ah, this ramen here. I quite liked it as it is. You can't really rely on other people's opinions, can you? Oh, right, I should've eaten a bit faster. I guess next time I'll try the miso ramen, right? ♫

I came to this shop that caught my interest. There is parking space for a few cars in front of the shop. Looking at the menu, it seems that the spicy miso is the shop's specialty. There are various menu items that caught my attention. There is Ankake Yakisoba, Old-fashioned Ramen, Mapo Ramen, and a slightly curry set. I confirmed that the ramen in the slightly curry set is only shio, miso, or shoyu, but it is possible to add 100 yen to any ramen, so I ordered Mapo Ramen. Mapo Ramen costs 900 yen, and the mini curry costs 100 yen. The mini curry was served first. It is a light type of curry roux. It contains vegetables like onions, but I couldn't find any meat. It has a spicy finish. The Mapo Ramen is a type where the mapo is added afterwards. The base shoyu ramen has a sweet soup with onions, bean sprouts, and garlic. On top of that, the mapo is added, but I didn't feel any spiciness or numbness in the mapo itself. It is delicious as a shoyu ramen, but as a mapo ramen, I felt it was a bit lacking.

It's lunchtime and I planned to go to a certain restaurant, but it was closed for a temporary holiday. I tried another nearby restaurant, but it was also closed. How many times can I run into closures? Feeling disheartened, I kept looking for a place to eat until I stumbled upon this open restaurant. I had never been there before, but the welcoming atmosphere with jazz music playing in the background was inviting. I decided to try their miso ramen, which came with a curry set for an additional 100 yen. The curry had a spicy aroma that made my mouth water. When the ramen arrived, it was a classic Sapporo miso ramen with a pork bone broth base. The noodles were medium-thick and slightly firm, the chashu was tender, and the toppings were simple with onions, bean sprouts, and green onions. The curry was well-cooked and flavorful, although it had a strong spice flavor. The couple running the restaurant provided excellent service and had a pleasant demeanor. Overall, it was a great dining experience.
