I wanted to eat crab, so I went with my wife. Before we went, I looked at the Tabelog reviews, and I found it odd that the high-rated reviews had photos of the restaurant interior with no customers or staff in them. We discussed this and felt that the reviews might not be very helpful, so we decided to go anyway. We went without a reservation, but the staff mentioned we were walk-in guests, so I think it's better to make a reservation.
I won't comment on the service. We chose the all-you-can-eat snow crab course, which was priced at approximately 6,000 yen including tax, plus a one-drink minimum. We both thought it was strange to have a drink requirement for an all-you-can-eat option.
Soon, the crab arrived! To be honest, the legs had a strong flavor (a bit salty), but the texture had that typical frozen drip, making the meat lose its moisture and it wasn't tasty. I know you can't expect too much from an all-you-can-eat, but still. The meat in the body section, which is near the legs, was frankly not good and inedible for me. I didn't like the flavor, and my wife felt the same way. (Although we managed to eat 12 half-shells total, there was one that tasted fine and was normal.)
The crab cream croquettes had no crab flavor whatsoever, but as a cream croquette, they were delicious. My wife ordered a tuna tataki don, but she could only eat one bite, so I ended up finishing it. I wouldn’t recommend the side dishes much.
As for the sushi, we were curious after seeing some high-rated posts with many orders of the same type of sushi, so we decided to order some, but… Overall, I wouldn't return, but if you're just looking to experience all-you-can-eat crab, it might be worth a visit. Personally, I think the all-you-can-eat red snow crab at the buffet in Daimaru Umeda is 100% better. I hope this review helps someone. Now, as a palate cleanser, my wife and I are off to Starbucks!
