I visited the specialty tonkatsu restaurant "Fukkatsu" located in Honmachi Sangaku Street in Takikawa City for the first time. This restaurant had been closed for a while due to the pandemic, but it reopened on April 9th. As I entered the restaurant, I was greeted by a large statue of "Billiken". I sat at a table at the back and looked at the menu. I ordered the "Fukkatsu set meal for 1,200 yen" and my companion ordered the "Cheese Katsu Curry for 1,200 yen". When I looked back at the wall, I noticed a corner with "Billiken goods" displayed, including "Billiken statue", "Billiken with a base", "Netsuke (strap)", and "Lucky Treasure Box" which could be purchased. While browsing through the items, our food arrived. The "Fukkatsu set meal" included tonkatsu made with domestic pork, rice, miso soup, and pickles. The tonkatsu was thick and had a nice bounce to it, with a sweet taste in the fat. The cabbage side dish was plentiful and could be enjoyed with two types of dressings. The "Cheese Katsu Curry" had a flavorful curry with spices, thick katsu, and gooey cheese which combined well. The curry sauce was not as spicy as expected. The menu also includes items such as "Itakatsu set meal" and "Teppan Spa Katsu". At the time of payment, I purchased a "Billiken statue" as a lucky charm. I wonder if rubbing the soles of its feet will bring good luck?

First time visiting this restaurant. There were three tonkatsu menu options, and I tried the limited edition teppan katsu. At first, I thought the portion might be small, but there was actually a good amount of shredded cabbage, and I left feeling full! The tonkatsu was juicy and delicious. After finishing the meal, they also served tea. They even gave us complimentary miso soup!
