I visited at noon on Monday, October 17, 2022 because I took a half day off. Lately, there has been a shortage of work to do, so I have to courageously retreat. I bought some ingredients for lunch and evening drinks, and I will enjoy them at home later.

On September 30, 2022, for a late-night drinking snack, I obtained a pork skewer from Sekoma Hata store. Unfortunately, they only had one, so I went to Sekoma Minami 9-jo store and got another one. I enjoyed the pork skewers at home with a Lemon Do Home Run Oni Lemon.

On the evening of September 29, 2022 (Thursday), I purchased my usual "pork skewer" (tax included 405 yen) and enjoyed it as a snack for my evening drink. I am grateful for its consistently delicious taste. However, it is lamentable to see so many drivers lacking the basic moral decency to turn off their lights while parked.

On August 26th and 27th, 2022, I first went to Seicomart Maruyama Minami 1-jo store to look for pork skewers. Unfortunately, they only had one, so I went to the Seicomart Minami 9-jo store to buy another one. Then, I bought a demon lemon at the Lawson near my home. Now, the evening drinking party is about to begin.

On the way home late on July 29, 2022 (Friday), I bought pork skewers, attached them to the outside of my backpack, and by the time I got home, they were at the perfect temperature to eat. I executed this strategy and enjoyed a drink in the evening with an Oni Lemon I bought at the nearby Lawson. It was delicious.

I stayed at a hotel near Seicomart. My friend who gave me a ride back from the racecourse told me that this Seicomart is the headquarters! As a fan of Seicomart, I decided to stop by on my way back with Ichikura-san. The conclusion is, it's just normal! The office is attached above or next to it, but I couldn't find anything special that you would expect from the main store. I bought bacon okaka onigiri (a personal favorite), Seicomart brand genmaicha (a must-have for road trips), egg pudding (surprisingly good for 150 yen, a nice dessert), katsugen (I always end up buying it for some reason), simmered eggs (Seicomart's side dishes are not like typical convenience store ones, and the price reflects that), and kiwi dried fruit (first time buying it, good for vitamin intake). The top three items are my regular purchases whenever I visit Seicomart, haha.

When it comes to Hokkaido, Seicomart is a common convenience store for the locals, although it may not be well-known outside of Hokkaido. It is said that Hokkaido residents are surprised by the lack of Seicomart stores when they visit Honshu. This particular Seicomart store is located under the headquarters and is considered like the main store. Seicomart offers a variety of deli and bread products, including curry items. I decided to try the curry bread with a half-cooked egg. It is a baked type of bread with a half-cooked egg and mayonnaise sauce. It was simply delicious. Seicomart stands out for offering unique items like this curry bread that are not commonly found in major convenience stores.

I bought a sinful late-night snack at a convenience store in Hokkaido. I had booked a hotel near Nakajima Park and arrived just before 10 pm. Before entering my room, I saw a bright store that caught my attention like a moth to a flame. Although I don't usually review large chain convenience stores, this particular store was located directly below the convenience store headquarters, making it somewhat of a "main branch." While there are a few branches in Ibaraki and Saitama, most are concentrated in Hokkaido, with several in Sapporo. The store offers a typical convenience store selection, including chilled drinks and original products. However, the standout feature of this convenience store is the "Hot Chef" series, where they seem to cook deli items, rice balls, and hot snacks in-store. I purchased two items from this section and enjoyed them as a guilty pleasure late-night snack in my room. The salted mackerel rice ball (\178) was larger and softer than typical convenience store rice balls, with flaked salt-grilled mackerel inside that offered a delicious combination of grilled aroma and mackerel flavor. The Zangi (\238), a specialty from eastern Hokkaido's Kushiro, was like festival-style fried chicken in a paper cup, with a slightly crunchy coating and a soy-based sauce that made the chicken enjoyable on its own. Although there is no official "main branch," this convenience store had that vibe, and I ended up enjoying a delicious late-night snack. Living in Hokkaido might be difficult with temptations like this. Thank you for the meal.

I was really looking forward to going to Seicomart during my two-night, three-day trip to Hokkaido. This Seicomart store is located on the first floor of the Seicomart headquarters building. It was close to my accommodation, and there were Seicomart stores everywhere, but this one was quite big so I decided to check it out. Of course, they had Hot Chef. I bought Zandare Tamago (sweet and sour egg) sandwich, cup cold ramen, onigiri, and bacon and okaka (bonito flakes) rice balls. They had a lineup that you wouldn't find in convenience stores in the Kanto region. The cup cold ramen was only 158 yen. It's like a snack, haha. On a different day, I also bought some ice cream. I hope they open Seicomart stores in Kanagawa Prefecture too.

The hotel I stayed at had a view of the Seiko Mart building, and below it was a store with a hot chef. I looked it up and found out it's the headquarters. I bought a popular katsudon, but the lid seemed like it was about to come off, which made me nervous. The half-cooked style was delicious.

My family really wanted to go in, so we did. For dinner, we had Genghis Khan with all lamb meat, so we decided to get some fried chicken and highball for a change. Surprisingly, the fried chicken was not as oily as those from Seven Eleven, Family Mart, or Lawson, and it was very delicious.

For breakfast on the second day of my business trip in Sapporo, I had a hot chef from Seicomart, which is truly unique to Hokkaido! The Seicomart branch across from my hotel, Hotel Vista Sapporo, had a wide hot chef corner with a great selection. I got a large onigiri and had it warmed up - it was so good! They also had original coffee options in bottles and cans, so I bought both. The herb chicken onigiri was a bit salty for breakfast, but would be perfect as a snack. The variety and quality of Seicomart's hot chef selection is impressive. I think Seicomart is great!

Fried chicken for 250 yen, Seikomachi tea for 500 yen, and creamy soft chocolate for 178 yen at Daruma Honten for a late-night snack, followed by another late-night snack. This was my final visit to Seicomart on this trip. This Seicomart is located on the first floor directly below the Seicomart headquarters building, so it feels like the main store. Perhaps because of this, the staff seemed a bit tense. I tried the fried chicken from the hot food corner. It seemed like it had been sitting out for a while, so I won't give it a rating. I skipped the ice cream and tea. There are three Seicomart stores within a 50-meter radius of this one, all of which I visited on this trip. Seicomart is truly impressive. May 2017, late night visit. Delicious!!

One of the things that makes me happy when coming to Hokkaido is the fact that there is a Hokkaido-exclusive convenience store chain, Seicomart, which has the highest customer satisfaction nationwide. This convenience store offers many Hokkaido-exclusive products, and the stores with the "Hot Chef" sign have well-equipped kitchen facilities. The prices are also affordable. My genuine encounter with Seicomart was two years ago in August when I visited Wakkanai and Rishiri Island. As soon as I arrived at the Oshidomari Port in Rishiri Island by ferry and reserved some fresh Ezo Bafun Uni at the nearby fisheries cooperative, I found Seicomart while strolling around the island. I bought a bacon and bonito rice ball, and when I tried it, it was warm and delicious. Since then, I have been a big fan of this convenience store chain. It's amazing that they have stores in even the most remote areas in Hokkaido. This time, the nearest store to the hotel I stayed at around Nakajima Park was the Minami 9-jo store. When I visited, I saw the Seicomart logo at the top of an eight-story building. Upon researching, I found out that this was actually the Seicomart headquarters. The Minami 9-jo store is located in one of the two buildings that make up the headquarters. As a fan, I was a little moved. I immediately bought some freshly made rice balls from the store. I got bacon and bonito, mentaiko mayo, and salmon and cod roe flavors. When I tried them, they were all delicious as expected. In Hokkaido, you sometimes come across rice balls with ingredients like cheese and bonito butter that you don't see often in Tokyo, but the bacon and bonito rice ball is excellent. The slightly sweet and savory soy sauce flavor of the bonito combined with bacon goes well with the rice. The classic cod roe flavor also had plenty of fresh ingredients and was delicious. My friend enjoyed the mentaiko mayo and salmon flavors as well. I have mixed feelings of wanting Seicomart in Tokyo and wanting to keep it as a unique enjoyment exclusive to Hokkaido.

I purchased breakfast at a local convenience store rooted in Hokkaido during my trip in January 2011. I bought a grilled salmon and mushroom rice bento for 348 yen and an Ice Strong beer. Since I was staying at the Excel Hotel Tokyu, I went to the nearest convenience store. Alongside Seven Eleven, FamilyMart, and Lawson, this store is also doing well. It has a lot of branches and seems to have formed its own unique community. Although the bento I bought was not particularly noteworthy, it felt slightly different buying it from a convenience store that is closely connected to the local community.

Recently, I have lost the desire to eat cup noodles. Especially the cheaper ones, I find them to be unappetizing and can't finish them. Since I quit smoking, I have been feeling this way more and more. The cold cup noodle series is a lifesaver for me. They are affordable and fill me up. I usually buy a lot of ramen, but today I decided to try soba. The simple taste is something that doesn't get boring. I find it fascinating how Seicomart's private brand products are like that. Next time, I'll try the udon. *I had a hard time taking a picture, so I apologize if it's not very clear.*

At the Daily Canart from May 20th to 22nd, they are holding a Hokkaido Fair featuring delicious food from the north in early summer, including their best-selling items. I bought the Hokkaido limited edition creamy soft vanilla ice cream for 214 yen, made with Hokkaido's rich milk and cream with a milk fat content of 9.5%. They also have Hokkaido melon soft serve for the same price, made with Hokkaido red meat melon juice, milk from Toyotomi-cho in Hokkaido, and cream with a milk fat content of 7%. It has a rich milk flavor and a fruity taste, and it's delicious.
