Hello ( ̄Д ̄)ノ I am currently in Osaka, braving the scorching heat. After enjoying a refreshing cold dish, I am planning to head back to Kyoto, but I suddenly got hungry and decided to make a detour on my way back. There are many ramen shops in Osaka that I could choose from, but I have always been curious about a particular shop. That shop is #Shioshio (1-2-51 Tamagawa, Fukushima-ku, Osaka), as the name suggests, it is a salt ramen shop that many people have recommended. Looking at the photos, the soup looks beautiful. So, I decided to visit the shop on a whim.
I arrived at the shop on my motorcycle and parked at the adjacent bicycle parking space. I went inside and checked the menu at the ticket machine. Among the various salt ramen options, I was intrigued by the spicy red yuzu flavor, so I ordered the Red Yuzu Shio Ramen for 980 yen. I handed over the ticket and took a seat at the counter.
The counter has six seats, and there is also a table seat available. On the table, there are condiments like chili oil, vinegar, shichimi, and black pepper in a mill. After a short wait, the Red Yuzu Shio Ramen (regular size) for 980 yen arrived. The soup looked transparent and beautiful, garnished with finely chopped trefoil, green onions, menma, flavorful chashu, and floating red yuzu. It looked delicious.
Without further ado, I dug in. First, the soup. The balance of broth and saltiness was perfect. Not too salty, and the umami of the broth gradually unfolded. The trefoil, green onions, and the spiciness and aroma of the red yuzu served as condiments that complemented the dish well. The fatty chashu was tender and flavorful, melting in the mouth. I slurped the noodles while savoring the sweetness of the fat and then washed it down with the soup. Without realizing it, I finished every last drop of the soup and noodles.
This was a delicious salt ramen that I can highly recommend. It's not often easy to recommend a salt ramen shop, but this one would please anyone who tries it. Despite the hot summer weather, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Thank you very much!
PS Please refrain from pointing out that it's too hot for ramen in the summer. I just really enjoyed it (DOD)(´-ω-)ウム
