Cafe Water for lunch. Located in the Daizan slope building near Mount Hakodate, this cafe is produced by the famous chef Shinichiro Harakawa. With bases in Unzen, Nagasaki and Hakodate, Hokkaido, his exceptional sense of style is evident. The cafe is located in a lovely renovated building called the Tsuchikura Building. The lunch plate includes beets, Kitakari potatoes, zucchini, and hard bread from Tomboro. The young female manager, originally from Okayama, said it was her first time in Hakodate. She faithfully reproduced Harakawa's recipes, resulting in gentle and delicate flavors. Although a bit pricey and the portions are small, it's a luxurious organic cafe where you can enjoy a special treat. Thank you for the meal.

A unique cafe that offers a menu consisting of vegetables. They serve it on one plate. Since the main dish is also vegetables, tastes may vary. Each dish is carefully prepared. The cute staff and lovely atmosphere made it a wonderful place. I'd like to go back another day and try a new plate.

Thank you for viewing. I visited the cafe "cafe water" located in Unzen City, Nagasaki Prefecture, produced by "BEARD". The building is a renovated former Kinju Life Hakodate Branch building from 1921, with a distinctive white stucco Jugendstil style. It is located in Oosanzaka, less than 10 minutes by taxi from Hakodate Station. The street is lined with temples, churches, and a mix of Japanese and Western-style houses, making it an exotic slope selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Roads". In addition to being a cafe, it also offers light meals, beer, and wine, making it versatile for various uses. The menu I had that day included "Herb Tea", "Hand Drip Coffee", "Steamed Carrot Bread from Tanaka Farm in Unzen City by Morikage Store", a rare steamed bread with a carrot flavor, "Free-range Egg Pudding from Morigaki Farm", a rich pudding, "Chocolate Mousse", an easy-to-eat chocolate mousse with a gentle sweetness, and "Matcha Raisin Sandwich", a raisin sandwich with a faint matcha flavor. I will definitely stop by again when I visit Hakodate. Thank you for the meal.

In February, the restaurant was closed, but it reopened in March. Before the closure, I had a light lunch there. I ordered the vegetable plate lunch, which was surprisingly filling. I also had a free-range egg pudding from Morigaki Farm and a coffee. You can enjoy natural wine in the afternoon, or have coffee and dessert. They also offer snacks, so it's a versatile restaurant to visit.

Now, the cute manager is running a cafe from Wednesday to Monday, 11am to 5pm. Today's recommendation is coffee and Morikage's raisin sandwich. They offer a vegetable plate on the menu, so you can enjoy a light meal with coffee or even wine.

You can enjoy a relaxing time in a traditional cultural heritage warehouse. This kind of atmosphere is not very common in Hakodate. It has a casual and relaxed feel. Occasionally, famous chefs hold limited-time dinners, but it is usually a casual café. The place has a nice open atmosphere and you can drop by anytime. The coffee is delicious, with light roasts not commonly found in Hakodate. The chocolate dessert is especially tasty and noteworthy. It would be great to see more of these kinds of places in the city. The autumn scenery at Oosanzaka is like a scene from a movie.

Hakodate Daisanzaka, "cafe water," is a cafe that renovated an old warehouse and focuses on vegetable dishes near Hakodate. It is within walking distance from the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, and if you climb the hill, you will find the Hakodate St. John's Association and the Hakodate Harist Orthodox Church nearby. Produced by Mr. Harakawa from "BEARD" in Unzen, Nagasaki, he even visited as a chef from August to early September. On this day, I visited for lunch and later for an aperitif. The "lunch plate" featured a plate with vegetables as the main dish, utilizing the sweetness and texture of the vegetables while skillfully incorporating acidity and spices. It was just the right amount to satisfy your hunger. The plate included beet yogurt, corn and chili butter, ratatouille with eggplant, Inca wake-up potato fries, fish soup with aioli sauce, homemade bread, milk and mint gelato, blueberries, and in the evening, we had "pudding" and "white mold salami" with natural wine. Thank you for the meal.

There is a new cafe called Water that recently opened on Daisanzaka. They are currently hosting a dinner event with Chef Harukawa from BEARD for a limited time. The lunch set includes a vegetable plate, Ooba-san's bread, soup du poisson, and dessert for 2200 yen. Even though it's all vegetables, the portion is generous and quite filling. The beet yogurt mint salad was especially delicious on the day I visited. The chef's use of spices and herbs is really impressive. You might be able to catch him during lunchtime until he returns to Unzen. Reservations are available through social media. From 1:30 pm, it's cafe time with wine, coffee, and pudding available. They also serve wine snacks. After having lunch, I met up with friends and visited during cafe time as well, haha.

I visited a lovely cafe that renovated a warehouse in Daisan-zaka Building! I decided to stop by for a cafe time and ordered a vegetable dish that caught my eye. The dish, where vegetables are the main focus and prepared by the chef, was truly delicious! I thought the combination of vegetables and dressing that brought out the flavor of the vegetables was excellent. I would like to go for lunch next time! Check out more details here ☟ Cafe Water's delicious vegetable dish ♡ Lovely cafe renovated from a warehouse!

I was impressed by how delicious a dish can be when simple ingredients are carefully prepared. It made me want to eat more vegetable dishes for the first time. The craft beer and natural wine paired perfectly with the food, and I ended up drinking too much. It was nice to watch the cooking process with a lively vibe, and the chef's graceful movements were lovely.

I visited Beard Hakodate pop-up four times. The chef has returned to Unzen, so Cafe Water will reopen as a cafe from October 7th. They will be serving a menu with plenty of vegetables and sweets under the supervision of the chef.

Second visit. On this day, there were many reservations from Tokyo and Kanagawa, as well as from distant places. The use of spices that bring out the flavor of the vegetables is nice. On this day, there were also wines from Hakodate and Kurisawa Town. (Dinner was already on the waiting list) (Added the cafe time pudding) Lunch or cafe time seems to be available anytime.

A new organic cafe opened at the Oosaka Building at the end of July. Until the end of September, Chef Harukawa from Unzen Beard is hosting a pop-up dinner here (almost fully booked already). During the Hakodate event, they use local vegetables. They also serve natural wines, including local ones. Lunch is priced at 2000 yen and includes soup, vegetable plate, bread from Ooba Bakery, and dessert. It seems that Chef Harukawa is also present on certain days. During cafe time, they offer natural wines, coffee, pudding, and snacks.
