I have been curious about this shop since passing by it on my way to Tomakomai Station for work. At first, I didn't know what kind of shop it was, but I found out from the locals that it is a tofu shop. When I had the chance to visit the area again for work, I decided to stop by. The shop is located behind the Muroran City Hall, in a quiet area with not much traffic. The exterior has a stylish large noren curtain, but inside, it has a traditional tofu shop feel. The shop is small, but it has a wide variety of tofu-related products on display, including the classic silk and cotton tofu, as well as flavored tofu like black sesame, white sesame, and edamame, tofu milk, and fried tofu. In addition to tofu products, they also have natto, white konjac, and mozuku. This time, I bought "silk tofu," "edamame tofu," and "tofu in the style of tokoroten" to eat at home. The classic silk tofu was delicious in a shabu-shabu hot pot, with a strong tofu flavor that made it the main ingredient in the dish. The edamame tofu had a subtle edamame flavor and was enjoyed cold, like hiyayakko (cold tofu dish), while the tofu in the style of tokoroten was made to look like udon noodles and was eaten as is with the accompanying dipping sauce and wasabi. All of them were rich and delicious, typical of tofu from a specialty shop. I would like to come back to buy some when I want to indulge in good tofu.
