In the evening, I transferred from the Shinkansen to a rental car and arrived in Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture. This is my third business trip to Osaka this year. I arrived early to prepare for tomorrow's mission in Takashi City. For dinner, I avoided eating out to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus. Before checking into the hotel, I stopped by a sushi restaurant that I had been wanting to try for a while and got some takeout. It was "Fukaki Sushi", a renowned eel sushi restaurant with a history of 74 years. Sakai used to be famous for eel fishing, and this area was called "Anago Yokocho" with many eel wholesale shops lined up. I parked my car in the parking lot and walked towards the store. The door was pulled open by the proprietress, and I placed my order from the menu posted outside without entering the store. I ordered 6 pieces of eel sushi for 1,037 yen and 6 pieces of "battera" for 518 yen. While waiting outside the store, I could see the process of making the sushi through the glass, so I didn't feel bored. However, I was warned by the proprietress when I tried to take a video at that time. After paying, I received the carefully packaged sushi and enjoyed it in my hotel room. The set included 6 pieces of eel sushi and 6 pieces of "battera". I started with the eel sushi. It was a steamed eel sushi with a sweet sauce on top. The eel melted in my mouth. The soft and tender eel, sweet sauce, and perfectly seasoned rice created a harmonious flavor. Next, I tried the "battera". In Sakai, due to the long-standing high-quality blade manufacturing technology, they also have excellent skills in making "battera" using oboro kombu. It is a pressed sushi with mackerel and oboro kombu on top of the rice. The one I had was less sweet, with a refined and deep flavor. It was different from the "battera" I have tried in the Kanto region. The eel sushi restaurant in Sakai, Osaka, also serves delicious "battera"! Oh, if it's this delicious, I wish I had bought one or two more dishes. I should have bought more. Thank you for the delicious meal, I will definitely come back.

I checked out this sushi takeout shop nearby, which specializes in eel dishes. I visited on a Sunday morning around 10:30 am, and there was only one customer ahead of me. The system here is that you need to make a reservation over the phone, provide your name, and then come back later to pick up and pay for your order. I had to wait for about an hour before my order was ready for pick-up. I purchased a set of eel nigiri and an eel and cucumber roll. The eel nigiri was delicious with a perfect balance of sweetness and acidity, while the eel and cucumber roll had a nice combination of flavors and textures. I enjoyed the meal and am curious to try other items on the menu in the future.

Office clerk T follows the eating route written by T and goes eating around① Yuke Wild Cats Sakai Ohama Store ② Hamanami, and this is the first visit in about 9 years. When I first ate it, I was impressed by the softness of the conger eel sushi. Will I be impressed again? Let's verify that. By the way, T has never been to this restaurant, only heard about it from friends. ※I myself may be like a reconnaissance team. It is a take-out only conger eel sushi specialty store. It has been about 9 years since I last visited. When I first ate it, I was impressed by the fluffy texture of the steamed conger eel, but this time, I wonder how it will be. By the way, during that time, the store became no photo shooting allowed. ※So, there are no exterior photos or menu photos. What I bought was 6 pieces of conger eel sushi for 1,036 yen (tax included). It was around 1 pm on Saturday, but luckily I was able to buy it smoothly without a reservation. About 5 hours later, when I ate it at home... Unfortunately, there was no excitement like 9 years ago. ※At that time, I ate it immediately after buying it (in the car), which may have been a factor. It was delicious, but there was no special feeling. ※Considering the price, that's also a factor to some extent. Thank you for the meal.

This is a famous restaurant known for its anago nigiri. Despite making a reservation over the phone first thing in the morning, the pick-up time is still in the afternoon due to its continued popularity. The anago nigiri (6 pieces per serving) costs 960 yen and features slightly smaller-sized sushi rice with a generous topping of simmered anago. When you take a bite, it melts in your mouth, offering a sublime experience. Both the anago and sushi rice are perfect. Every time I eat it, I feel a sense of happiness. If you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend experiencing it. It's on a different level. If the regular anago nigiri is this delicious, I wonder how amazing the premium anago nigiri for 2450 yen must be. I still haven't tried it (due to budget constraints), but I plan to do so next time. The battera sushi costs 510 yen and offers a consistently delicious taste. Due to its popularity, it's advisable to make a reservation in advance as early as possible, especially if you want to pick it up sooner. If you go directly to the restaurant, you may be able to purchase it, but you might have to wait a while or come back later to pick it up. *Takeout only *Parking available on the seaside *Photography inside the store is prohibited.

The fluffy anago with a sweet and savory sauce and perfectly cooked rice... Every bite is exquisite, although it may feel a bit lacking at times, simplicity is truly the best. This traditional flavor has been loved for a long time by many locals. However, there seems to be a lawless situation where the faces of chefs and staff are being photographed without permission, leading to frequent disputes. Interestingly, the service differs greatly between weekdays and weekends, with polite and gentle service on weekdays and arrogant and intimidating service on weekends. This unexpected gap has been a part of the business for a long time and has become familiar and established. Reservations for weekends are limited to about one slot every 30 minutes, and they start taking orders about a week in advance. While there may not be a stubborn owner, the shop is considerate of not causing inconvenience to the local residents. Providing delicious sushi locally and being loved by the community is important. This is what Fukiyuki is all about - a traditional sushi restaurant in Sakai that continues to be loved by locals. (As of October 2022, it has a high rating of 3.67 overall).

On this day, we embarked on a "Sakai food tour" at the suggestion of my partner! After enjoying a delicious breakfast at Geko-tei, we leisurely strolled through the town and arrived at this restaurant. I had bookmarked this sushi restaurant in the TOP5000 based on Myレビ's review. We arrived at the restaurant before it opened, and the staff greeted us with "Thank you for waiting" as they hung up the curtain. Right after the opening, I purchased a 6-piece eel sushi set for 980 yen. I really wanted to try the datemaki too, but I was worried it would interfere with our food tour, so I didn't get it. It was a bit cold, but I decided to enjoy it at a nearby park! The eel was incredibly tender, and the sauce had a rich flavor! The rice was delicious too, and even the pickled ginger was tasty! I had to eat it cold this time, but I bet it would be even more delicious if it was warm. It's a sushi place that I would like to visit again, even though it's a bit far from my home. Thank you for the meal. To be continued...

I was introduced to a famous eel sushi restaurant in Sakai City. The menu mainly consists of eel dishes. I tried the eel roll and eel sushi. My impression is that it was incredibly delicious! The eel was tender and the sweet sauce was excellent. I can see why it's so popular. Thank you for the meal.

I took the Chinchin train to go to the shop. I got on the Hankai Line, headed for Hamadera, and got off at Goryomae. It's about a 5-minute walk from there. I read the reviews of MyRebi-sama's group and did some research in advance! Since I was only getting takeout, it seemed best to make a reservation in advance, so I called ahead. I thought about the menu for my family and my brother's house. And then I asked my foodie friends who I was meeting that day for their requests. Since it's not a very convenient location, I chose the following items: ● Anago Nigiri Sushi - 2,450 yen ● Ebi Battera - 660 yen. My foodie friends recommended the Anago Box! ● Anago Box - 690 yen. When I arrived at the shop, I was confused about where the entrance was. I saw the chef through the glass window, rolling and cutting sushi. When the sliding door opened, I told them I had a reservation, and they had everything ready for me. They told me to make sure the Anago Nigiri doesn't get crooked and to keep it straight when taking it home! I was nervous as I took the train back home. I took the Nankai Line and then the subway. At the subway station, I smelled something sweet...? It turned out the sauce from the Anago Box had leaked!! I was shocked! I hurriedly held the box sushi with care and took it home. It was late, but I immediately tried some when I got home. The Anago Nigiri melted in my mouth. I've only started eating Anago in the past five years, and I've only had it in nigiri sushi, but it was delicious! The Ebi Battera was okay. The rice had a traditional taste and was delicious. I'd like to try their regular nigiri sushi as well. It reminded me of the nostalgic taste of sushi I used to have when my grandmother ordered takeout for us when I was a child.

I was able to come buy sushi again this year - I'm so happy! Because it coincided with Christmas, there were non-stop customers. Although we are a takeout-only shop, all the staff seemed busier than usual. Due to the pandemic, we were not allowed to enter the store at all, so I couldn't find out if the previous owner was still there... But the sushi was delicious!

Today's special snack is at Sakai, Demachi, Fukase Sushi, a shop specializing in take-out sushi. The renowned shop for Anago sushi, the Upper Anago nigiri set of 7 pieces for 2450 yen. The Anago is fluffy, sweet, with a firm sauce that melts in your mouth. It's so delicious that I was lucky to order just after 2 o'clock before they sold out. If you didn't know about this delicious treat, you'd be missing out. Osaka gourmet, happy meal plus, happy meal.

Sakai Delicious Food Tour Part 7: The Best Taste of Conger Eel at "Shinsei Sushi"! After shopping at the Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station), we visited "Shinsei Sushi" to pick up the conger eel sushi that we had pre-ordered over the phone. Established in 1948, "Shinsei Sushi" is a renowned conger eel sushi shop in Sakai that every local knows about. - Shop: Established in 1948, retaining a Showa era atmosphere, a shop selling Sakai's famous conger eel sushi for takeout. Due to COVID-19 measures, we were not allowed to enter the store until our name was called for pickup. - Purchased Conger Eel Sushi: - Conger Eel Nigiri (1 piece) Opening the box revealed the thick and glossy conger eel, which was truly exciting. The shine of Shinsei Sushi's secret sauce stimulates the appetite. When picked up with chopsticks, the conger eel is so tender that it feels like it might fall apart. Gently placing it in the mouth, the conger eel melts away, leaving a fluffy and delicate texture. This conger eel is unbelievably soft and delicious! I may have never tasted conger eel like this before. The perfect way the conger eel is cooked down makes it incredibly tasty. The sweet sauce pairs excellently with it. It was the most delicious conger eel sushi I've ever had. Thank you for the meal! I definitely want to go back for more.

This restaurant in Sakai is famous for its conger eel sushi. I heard that it may be related to a family member of Fukagawa-san, but I'm not sure. Regardless, I decided to try a piece first and it was delicious! The conger eel was tender, the sushi rice had the perfect amount of vinegar, and the sauce on top, which looked sweet, was actually not too sweet or heavy, making it easy to eat. When I used to live in Tokyo, I would visit eel specialty sushi restaurants between Ginza and Shinbashi, but the quality here is just as good if not better, and the price is half as much. I think pairing this conger eel sushi with a freshly poured rich Japanese sake would be the perfect combination!

Due to the impact of the coronavirus, dining out has significantly decreased. However, I decided to treat myself to some conger eel sushi for dinner today. I was worried it might be sold out on my way back from a friend's place. I tried calling to make a reservation multiple times before noon, but the line was always busy. So, I gave up on the reservation and decided to stop by on my way back. I parked my car in the dedicated parking lot just west of the store and saw a few customers who had made phone reservations waiting outside. I handed a note with my order for conger eel nigiri, pressed sushi, conger eel rolls, and a half portion of Datemaki to the staff. Even though I didn't have a reservation, the staff assured me it was okay. I watched as the sushi was prepared right in front of me and took it home for a delicious dinner. The sauce was a bit sweet, but it was a nice change of taste. It looks like we'll continue to have inconvenient days until the end of the coronavirus.

Located along the railway tracks north of Minami-Kaedensho Station, just past the Sagibashi Bridge on Goryo Avenue, is a popular shop that specializes in eel sushi, established in 1948. While they mainly offer takeout, this well-known shop often sells out quickly, so it's recommended to call ahead and make a reservation before visiting. The exterior exudes a nostalgic charm reminiscent of old Sakai town. Inside, a few customers wait on wooden chairs, but are eventually asked to sit on the tatami mats while waiting. Skilled chefs in the kitchen diligently prepare sushi dishes. The reserved "eel box" and "shrimp box" are received without any issues. The popular eel sushi is soft and fluffy, pairing perfectly with the well-seasoned rice, making it delicious. The shrimp also brings out the true flavor of the ingredients, offering a taste that is on a different level compared to others. This shop offers exquisite boxed sushi that can only be enjoyed here.

Oh man, I had some errands nearby and was looking for a place where I could get takeout. I found this place on Tabelog, and it turned out to be quite popular. I'm glad I made a reservation over the phone before going! When I arrived, there were quite a few people waiting, and the phone was ringing off the hook. I underestimated it. When I brought the food home and tried it, the eel was so tender! It was definitely worth it. I'll definitely come back again! So delicious! ( ̄∇ ̄)

The must-have item for our family's birthday party is anago (conger eel). This is because my daughter likes cakes, snacks, and fish, but her favorite is anago. So every year at the birthday party, we have anago lined up. We always purchase our anago from a famous store called Fukiyasu Sushi in Sakai. My daughter knows that she can only eat it once a year, so she always insists on coming with me to buy it. The plum tree in front of the store usually has buds or flowers at this time of year, but this year it was already in full bloom. When we got home and opened the package, we found nigiri sushi set for 1240 yen (excluding tax) with hirame (flounder), kazunoko (herring roe), anago, tako (octopus), ebi (shrimp), tamago (egg), tai (sea bream), maguro (tuna), and ika (squid) - 9 varieties. The anago nigiri set for 3100 yen (excluding tax) is my daughter's favorite anago sushi. She loves the softness of the anago and quickly finishes it. The anago nigiri for 900 yen (excluding tax) and anago box for 630 yen (excluding tax) are for us adults to enjoy. The anago nigiri is firmer compared to the set mentioned earlier. Personally, I prefer this one as the softer texture is a bit too much for me. The anago box is popular among the women. The anakyu maki for 402 yen (excluding tax) goes well with sake and is delicious. The ebi box for 630 yen (excluding tax) was left untouched by my daughter, who was too focused on the anago. As always, the anago was really delicious. I have a simple palate, so I prefer the regular anago over the fancier ones. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

#Lunchtime in Sakai after 20 years, I went to Fukakiyosushi. Since 1999, I visited a takeout-only shop called Anago Sushi and bought 6 pieces for 960 yen (1056 yen). I immediately went to a nearby convenience store. The shining Anago Sushi looked so tempting. When I took a bite, the eel melted in my mouth! Delicious! It brought back memories of how good it was. I finished all 6 pieces in an instant! It felt a bit luxurious, but it was definitely worth it. I wish I could have more. Osaka, Sakai Dejima, Anago, Anago Sushi.

When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no wait and a staff member came out to take our order. They had a variety of menu options and kindly explained everything to us. We ordered the famous pressed sushi, simmered conger eel sushi, and tempura. The simmered conger eel sushi had a unique fluffy texture that I had never experienced before. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I came all the way to Sakai to try the famous conger eel dish. After researching various options, I visited a shop only to find a sign saying "Sold out for today"… So, I decided to try a shop in Dejima. The shop was established in 1948 and was quite small with a few people waiting for their takeout orders. I decided to order the Upper Conger Eel Sushi for 2,450 yen. It was a serving for one person with 7 pieces. The conger eel was incredibly tender, and the glaze on top was excellent. I could see the chef replenishing the glaze, which had turned into a jelly-like consistency. It seemed like they had extracted collagen from the conger eel through the glaze. The combination of the tender eel and the glaze was perfect. Considering the price, they must put a lot of effort into preparing this dish, not just because of the high cost of conger eel. It's always a pleasure to discover such unique restaurants while traveling around different regions.

Kii Peninsula Tour 2 Osaka② Hako Sushi takeout shop, but I became a fan in one go☆ The reputation of Anago Sushi is high, and the "Anago Nigiri" is priced at ¥2450 (7 pieces), which is significantly higher, but most items are below ¥1000. It is located near Ginshariya Gekotei, about a 5-minute walk away. There is a parking lot here, but you can't enter until opening hours, so you have to kill time. They opened the entrance for me at 9:20, so I parked♪ There is a parking lot 30 meters to the right of the store, with space for 5 cars. It was before 9:30, but they let me in, saying "Please come in!" The menu includes (excluding tax): ・Anago Nigiri (6 pieces) ¥960 ・Anago Hako (1 piece = 6 slices) ¥690 ・Thin roll: Anago roll ¥420 ・Ebi Hako (1 piece = 6 slices) ¥660 ・Battera (1 piece = 6 slices) ¥480, etc. (with photos) I ordered Anago Hako and "Shinko Maki" for ¥270. Clang! Clang! The craftsmen handle the wooden frames with a pleasant rhythm, three of them standing side by side cooking. The phone rings non-stop! Orders keep coming in. When I asked, "Can I take a photo of the menu?" they said, "This one is dirty, I'll give you a new one." Probably the owner, he seemed strict but very kind♪ The wife who came out from the back handled the payment, and it came to ¥1036 (tax included). When I thanked the owner, he said, "Thank you!" Ah, I truly felt like I was in Osaka (´▽`) I had it at the hotel. The Anago is fluffy♡ It's also in between the shari♪ The best part is the taste of the "simmered" sauce (≧▽≦)❣ It has a subtle sweetness, but the flavor is just deep☆ The Anago must be amazing, but the "simmered" sauce must be the same. Oh, this is a fantastic "Anago Hako"☆ The Shinko Maki has seaweed loosely wrapped around it, so the shari unravels in your mouth (´艸`*) I'm sure the shari for the nigiri is also amazing♡ You can enjoy the outstanding craftsmanship of Sakai at a normal price❢ This is truly wonderful☆ It's on the top 5000 of Tabelog, but I wish they would select this kind of place as one of the top 100 restaurants.

Based on a friend's recommendation, I made a reservation and purchased the "Upper" and "Regular" eel sushi. Despite having made a reservation, I had to wait outside for about 20 minutes before getting my order. The eel was so tender and delicious! The "Upper" eel sushi was also tasty, but I was satisfied with the regular eel sushi as well. ❤️
