I visited "HARUMAKI GALAXY" on July 20th for the first time. It is a spring roll specialty shop that opened in December last year. Originally, I was planning to visit a certain fried chicken shop for snacks, but it was unexpectedly closed due to equipment failure. I ended up visiting this place instead. It is located along the Kita 24-jo Street, about 100m west of the Kita 24-jo subway station exit. There is no parking lot. I entered the shop at 4:10 pm. There were no other customers at that time. As soon as I entered, I saw two ticket vending machines on the left side. They were touch panel type machines, but the touch screen was a bit high. I was planning to order for takeout, so I didn't pay much attention, but I wonder if the ordering process is different for dining in? I don't remember. The shop seems to be conscious of SDEs as its concept, but these ticket machines may be difficult to operate for children or wheelchair users. I ordered the following items: - Spring Roll Galaxy 260 yen - Keema Curry 280 yen - Ume Shiso in Okura Chicken 280 yen - Braised Pork Belly (with rice) 380 yen - Paper bag (up to 5 pieces) 30 yen Total: 1230 yen. There were also dessert options, but they were sold out at that time. A bit disappointing. After placing my order, I received a receipt and a ticket number, and then I just had to wait... Oh, I was called in less than a minute (laughs). Quite fast, isn't it? I received my order, put it in the paper bag, and left. The shop's interior design, packaging, and overall character design have a strong impact. I thought they may have collaborated with an art school, but it turns out that it was done by a company called Niveau Co., Ltd. https://niveau.co.jp/ They have an office in Sapporo and have worked on the concept and design of several restaurants in the city. It's quite a niche market to challenge with a spring roll specialty shop. But I guess people like to try different things at home, like making takoyaki (wait, you don't make takoyaki at home??). If you think of it as the spring roll version of that, it might have potential, right? However, the price increase from the opening seems a bit steep. Well, maybe it's inevitable in the current situation? Anyway, when I tried the food at home, it was delicious (laughs). The skin was a bit soft because I ate it an hour later, but personally, I think I prefer it that way (controversial opinion). Sorry, I have an unsophisticated palate that can't tell the difference in taste even if you fry frozen spring rolls. But the variety in flavors was enjoyable. The Ume Shiso in Okura Chicken felt like a personal preference of the person who came up with it. I couldn't buy the Bacon Potato Cheese this time, but it must be delicious. I'll try the dessert options next time. Thank you for the meal.
