Located one street off Tamachi-Suji, this small cozy restaurant has a counter and one table. The counter seating allows you to chat with the friendly staff, creating a nice atmosphere. I enjoyed the creative Japanese-Western fusion dishes and sake slowly. The ambiance and food were both excellent. We had appetizers, assorted sashimi, tempura of conger eel, grilled Awaodori chicken, prosciutto with fig, pickled water eggplant, and finished with rice cooked in a clay pot (with shredded dried fish and sansho pepper). The conger eel was especially delicious!

I visited Hatakenaka for the first time and it was a place I had been curious about for a while. It is located in a slightly alley-like area, about 4-5 minutes from Tanifour. The interior of the restaurant is stylish, with a menu of dishes ranging from Japanese to Western cuisine. I ordered mainly fish dishes, and each one was carefully prepared and delicious. The owner, who cooks alone, may make you wait a bit when the restaurant is busy, but the delicious food makes it worth it. I believe the owner's wife is also there, and she is very polite and kind, which adds to the overall pleasant experience. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again.

I ordered eel shiroyaki, snow crab gratin, abalone butter sauté, Omi beef cutlet, and scallop and cheese tempura at a calm restaurant in Tanimachi. The appetizers were delicious and all the dishes I ordered were also delicious. They are open on Sundays too, so I would like to go back when I want to eat slowly again. Next time, I want to try the closing rice dish.

This was my first visit. I made a reservation and came with one other person. The restaurant is located about a 10-minute walk north from the Tanimachi 6-chome Station on the Tanimachi subway line. There are 9 counter seats and around 6 table seats. When I made the reservation, the proprietress mentioned that since she cooks alone, the food might take a while to come out, and that was indeed the case. I started with a beer as usual. A small appetizer of red shrimp, seaweed, and blanched greens was served. It was pretty standard. For sashimi, I ordered fresh young yellowtail and marbled eel. The yellowtail was fatty and incredibly delicious. The eel was also very tasty. Next, I tried the taro and crab in a thick sauce, which was also delicious. The broth in the sauce was exquisite. I switched to cold sake, starting with Shimeharutsuru and then moving on to Utsuro. The tempura of shirako (cod milt) was quite ordinary. Lastly, I had crab gratin. I switched to a highball, which paired well with the gratin. Overall, the meal was enjoyable. However, I felt that it might be a bit challenging for one person to prepare food for 13 customers (the number of guests that day), especially when serving à la carte instead of a set course menu. It seemed to take even longer in such circumstances.

A shop that smells delicious. Searched on Tabelog near my friend's workplace at Tanimachi Rokuchome. Exit from Tanimachi Rokuchome Station, take exit 5 and head north on Tanimachi-suji. Turn west on the first street from Tanimachi-suji. The shop is located between Tanimachi Yonchome Station. When making a reservation, they mentioned that there is only one chef, so please allow some time. On the day of the appointment, I had to leave by 8 pm due to a sudden schedule change. With one chef and one server, the restaurant was quite spacious. While waiting for my friend, I read the menu. The menu was exciting. Cheers with Oolong tea and beer! My friend ordered first. - Appetizer: Sweet shrimp pickled, crab meat Genovese, red grouper sushi. Completely knocked out. Delicious!!! Crab meat Genovese? Delicious! - Crab salad with refreshing dressing and crab. Quite delicious. - Awaodori chicken black pepper grilled for 850 yen. Perfectly cooked, delicious with the accompanying salt. - Miyagi's live scallop gratin for 1350 yen. Wow! Delicious! What is this? Too delicious! No asparagus, but white sauce and scallops. Maybe some cheese. Just too delicious. Why gratin? It was an unexpected order. If I had more time, I would have wanted to try the rice cooked in a pot and sashimi. After the lasagna the other day, I decided to try a gratin dish with white sauce for the first time in a while! I had Oolong tea then switched to black Oolong tea, while my friend had beer then switched to plum wine. Definitely a shop I want to visit again. The chef seemed efficient and the hostess was very attentive. I also feel like watching them carefully at the counter. Thank you for seeing us off.

I visited Hatakenaka, a Japanese dining restaurant in Tanimachi 6-chome for the first time. When I called to make a reservation and mentioned it was my first visit, they warned me that since there is only one chef, it might get busy and slow. I didn't mind as I wanted to enjoy my meal leisurely. The restaurant had a stylish interior with a counter and tables. The appetizers were delicious, including tai no ko, nori, and wasabi leaves. The sashimi platter was of good quality. I tried the duck tsukune hot pot with soy sauce, and it was full of small tsukune meatballs. The only downside was that I wished there were more green onions. The cod milt gratin and black pepper chicken were both delicious choices for the finale. The menu also offered salads, gratins, and kamameshi, which seemed to be popular options. The service provided by the female staff was very polite. Each time I placed an order, they apologized for the wait, which made me wonder if there were customers who complained. The restaurant was about half full, and there was a reasonable wait time even when orders were placed in advance. It's a great place to enjoy a leisurely meal with a mix of Japanese and Western dishes.

I visited after about half a year. Everything I eat here is delicious, but there is no particular dish that stands out as exceptional. It's the kind of place you might forget to visit again for another half year or even a year.
