I entered a small path that resembled a lyre and saw a curry flag, so I decided to check it out. The interior of the restaurant was beautiful and stylish. I chose the chicken and vegetable curry for 1280 yen. The soup was light and lacked a bit of character. It was unusual to see onions sliced in a distinct way. The meat and vegetables were delicious, but overall, it didn't go beyond the realm of average soup curry. It's a shame, I thought.

Today, I felt that it had cooled down a bit, so I decided to ride my bike to Konoe. It was around 11:30 AM. The purpose was to visit a soup curry restaurant that I had been curious about. There were no other customers at this time. Maybe they start late... that's why there are no customers. I thought while looking at the menu... I was surprised to see that there was no weekday lunch service special. They are quite confident in their business... that's probably why there are no customers. I chose the Chicken and Vegetable Curry for ¥1280, which was the cheapest option. I asked for medium spiciness and 300g of rice. It took about 10 minutes for the dish to be ready. The curry was served in a pot rather than a bowl... it seemed hot. The 300g of rice didn't look like a lot... the amount of vegetables was not large but not small either. When I started eating, the spiciness was just right. When I lifted the chicken with a spoon, I could tell it was tender... but when I tasted it, the flavor didn't quite blend with the soup. The deep-fried vegetables were acceptable, but they seemed like they were just thrown in without much thought. The deep-fried vegetables were all soft enough to be cut with just a spoon. I started by putting rice on the spoon and dipping it in the soup... it tasted delicious. But even when I ate the chicken, the deliciousness didn't come through... I felt like it was lacking a bit. I finished the meal and felt like I could use a bit more rice... maybe adding another 100g would be enough without needing to upgrade the curry. There was only one other customer eating while I was there... it was already past 12 PM, so I wonder how they are doing.

I used to go to soup curry restaurants less often after focusing on exploring local shops, but sometimes I just crave it. Today was one of those days, so I went to Sapporo to have soup curry. The restaurant I visited was Spice Spot in Kotoni. They don't have a parking lot, but they offer a 100 yen discount with a coin parking ticket. I arrived right at opening time. There was one male staff member, no other customers when I arrived, and two groups came in after me. I ordered the Tandoori Chicken and Vegetable Curry (1500 yen) with spice level 5, extra spicy. I chose 200g of rice and also ordered the Crispy Financier with Vanilla Ice Cream (380 yen) for dessert. I was curious about the scissors in the cutlery set, but the staff explained that they are used to cut the chicken for easier eating. Innovative! I used the scissors to cut the chicken into small pieces and started eating. The soup was hot in the iron pot, and the flavorful soup made the rice go down smoothly. The chicken was tender, not as crispy as I like, but still decent. The vegetables, especially the pumpkin and onions, were incredibly delicious. As for the dessert, the financier was surprisingly delicious, with a buttery and crispy texture. It was probably the best financier I've ever had. The quality could easily compete with a dessert cafe. I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

The weather is nice, I don't have to prepare lunch, I had some errands to run, so I decided to try this place. It was just opened and there was only one customer before me. Oh, the smell of spices is so nice. They told me to sit wherever I like, so I took a 4-seater table without hesitation. The air conditioning is working well. I usually go for the classic dishes when trying a new place, but this time I decided to go with their recommendation. Tandoori chicken and vegetable curry for 1,480 yen with a spice level of 5. They also brought me a small portion of rice. There were some magazines about curry on the table, so I picked one to read while waiting. The rice and the curry arrived next, beautifully presented in a cast iron pot. The soup was light and the spiciness level was around 3, much milder than I expected. The vegetables included carrots, potatoes, eggplant, bell peppers, pumpkin, and onions - all the usual suspects. I wish there was some cabbage too. The chicken was tender with a bit of chewiness, just the right texture. It was easy to eat with a knife. The pumpkin was particularly delicious, soft and flavorful. The tandoori chicken could be eaten on its own, it was that good. I felt a slight reaction on my skin as I was eating, but it quickly subsided. There were hardly any spices at the bottom of the pot. The interior of the restaurant was stylish and clean, making it a pleasant dining experience.

The Spice Spot, which was open like a koto, had a paid parking lot across the street. The interior of the Spice Spot in Shiraishi seemed to be larger. I remember waiting quite a bit because I think they were short-staffed. There were several staff members, giving a lively atmosphere. I ordered the crispy chicken, but I think the roasted chicken would have been good too. The soup with a rich flavor was a hit with everyone. It was delicious!

The restaurant is located near the North Pacific Bank entrance, just a short walk from the Kotoji Station. I sat at a vacant seat inside and looked at the menu on the table. There are about 11 types of soup curry on the menu. I ordered the "Chicken and Vegetable Curry" with a medium level of spiciness. I chose the SS size for rice. The food arrived in less than 30 minutes. It was served in a hot iron pot, bubbling away. The soup had a traditional taste with a good kick of spices that stimulated my appetite. The ingredients included chicken, potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, pumpkin, eggplant, and onions. The chicken was so tender that it easily fell apart with a spoon. The flavor of the chicken paired well with the soup curry. The vegetables seemed to be lightly fried. Surprisingly, there were "onions" in the soup curry, which turned out to be surprisingly sweet. The medium level of spiciness added a nice kick. The saffron rice was firm, complementing the soup curry well. The "Chicken and Vegetable Curry" cost 1,280 yen. I later remembered that I had also visited the Spice Spot in Kikusui.٩( ᐛ )و

Second visit. I was hungover again and craving something spicy. Last time I had regular chicken, so this time I went for crispy chicken. I ordered the soup in large size with level 4 spiciness, and a small size of rice. In conclusion, the roasted chicken was not as tender as I expected, it was a bit difficult to eat. It would have been easier if it was boneless. It's a shame because it tasted good.

I visited the newly opened restaurant in the neighborhood for lunch. I was feeling really hungover, so I was in the mood for soup curry since the morning. I arrived at 11:30 am and there were no other customers. I was alone but was seated at a table for four. I couldn't decide between the chicken, crispy chicken, or roasted chicken. The regular chicken is simmered, the crispy chicken is baked in a stone oven, and the roasted chicken is roasted with seasoning in a stone oven. I played it safe and chose the regular chicken. I chose level 4 spiciness, which was said to be a little spicier than store-bought spicy food. I asked for extra soup and topped my rice with a fried egg. It was served in about 10 minutes. I took a sip of the soup first. The spiciness was a bit lacking, but this level might be just right. It was delicious and piping hot. The onions in the ingredients made it slightly sweet. The portion was quite large with extra soup, so if you get a regular size, it might be a bit small. The ingredients included chicken, eggplant, pumpkin, carrot, potato, bell pepper, and onion. Honestly, I could do without the onion (laughs). The eggplant was soft and delicious, and the carrot was also soft and tasty. The potatoes and pumpkin filled me up quite a bit, so a small size of rice might be enough. The chicken was tender and tasty. Next time, I'll try the crispy chicken. It was delicious!

On a typical day just past 1 pm, the restaurant was almost full with only one table and one counter seat available. I decided to try the cheese tomato vegetable dish at Kikusui, which features seasonal vegetables. I once again forgot to order their famous roast chicken. Last time, the spiciness level 20 wasn't enough for me, so this time I went for level 30. I felt a bit uneasy when the server double-checked my order. I ordered a small size rice. They had a limited-time offer where you could switch to shrimp soup for free, but unfortunately, I have a shrimp allergy. It took about 12 minutes for the food to arrive, served in a clay pot. Surprisingly, it wasn't very hot. The presentation was beautiful, with colorful vegetables. The soup wasn't as spicy as I expected, lacking depth of flavor. The rice didn't really complement the dish. The vegetables were fresh but too big, making me feel full quickly. I ended up cutting the tomato into smaller pieces to mix into the soup. Towards the end, it became a tomato endurance challenge. All other customers left while I was still eating. It seems like a popular lunch spot for salarymen, so it might be less crowded if you go at a different time. The taste was a bit underwhelming compared to my expectations. It might be suitable for those who prefer lighter flavors. The staff, consisting of four members, were all very friendly. Overall, it's a clean and well-maintained restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

You can immediately tell the location from the light coming through the large window in the darkness. There are many counter and table seats. I was torn between the roast chicken and the natto keema with a spice level of 6, rice size M 200g. There was plenty of natto in it. The soup was more on the spicy side rather than a traditional dashi flavor, but it was easy to eat. Personally, I could handle even more spiciness. They also have low-carb bread, which is a nice menu option for women. Thank you for the meal!

Today's lunch was at curry kitchen SPICE POT in Kotoni. I visited the newly opened store, which had a fresh and bright interior with white walls. I learned that this is the second branch of the Spice Spot in Kikusui. I decided to order the chicken and vegetable curry (medium spicy, medium rice). The roasted chicken is recommended here, but I opted for the simmered chicken which seemed more appealing to me. The dish arrived in about 10 minutes. The chicken was a decent size, and the vegetables included pumpkin, carrots, bell peppers, potatoes, eggplant, and sliced onions. Personally, I felt a bit disappointed that there was no broccoli included. The soup had a mild saltiness and a great flavor, which I really enjoyed. The slightly firm rice paired well with the curry. The tender chicken had a satisfying volume, which made me happy as a chicken lover. Overall, I had a delicious soup curry with good soup, rice, and a generous portion of chicken.

The 200 yen discount for following on Instagram has already ended...⤵︎ In a clean store with two beautiful female staff members, the background music is from FM radio. This is Curry Kitchen SPICE POT located in the Kotoni area of Nishi-ku. Conveniently located near a bank with partnered parking and Aeon Kotoni store for combined use. The curry rice with roast chicken and vegetables in a normal portion, ordered with a spice level of 5, was served faster than expected, indicating some pre-preparation of ingredients. Perhaps it was because I arrived after lunchtime, resulting in quicker service than usual? The soup curry in a hot iron pot requires caution as it is piping hot. The vegetables were deliciously cooked, except for the potatoes which could have been cooked a bit more. The turmeric rice was cooked to the desired firmness, but the rice itself could have been better. The soup curry had a tangy taste but was not overly spicy, maybe a higher spice level than 5 would be better. As I drank the soup, I gradually appreciated the depth of flavor, spiciness, and richness, feeling the swirl of flavors and spices captivating my senses. I finished the soup with satisfaction, wanting more. I found the flavor of the soup curry at Curry Kitchen SPICE POT quite appealing. The chicken, marinated with a sweet and salty flavor, was recommended by the staff, but personally, I prefer less sweetness, so maybe the crispy chicken or the normal option would suit me better. Since the spice level was not enough for me this time, I will try increasing it to level 10 based on the main store's data. Wandering new curry mania / rookie ramen mania, a solo middle-aged man. This is a memo-like review by the old man. If you want to see "concise information" about the restaurant and food, please move on to other people's reviews around here. On the way to a certain "other restaurant." I casually turned my face to a side road and, huh? Huh? There was a "new restaurant" that I had never seen before. It had a slightly novel "black exterior." Huh? A sign for "Soup Curry"? I don't remember there being a "Soup Curry shop" here. As I approached... Oh! 'SPICE POT! Konni Store' it said. Huh? Does that mean it's a branch of Kikusui's "Soup Curry shop"? Oh, they opened a branch in Konni, I see. It's a bit far from Kikusui's main store. But why Konni? It would be nice if they could establish themselves well in Konni. After a lighter lunch than expected at "another restaurant," I thought I'd stop by and see how it is. It's a good idea to have less rice. The location is in Nishi Ward, Konni 2-jo 5-chome. To put it concisely, it's right across from the Konni 2-jo post office. Exit 1 of the Tozai Line Konni Station, then head outside. Facing west along Hokuyo Bank, take the first side street. It's on the left hand side after turning right at the corner of "Fuji Megane" store. I arrived at 1:30 pm (on a Sunday). Inside the store, there are 4 counter seats facing the kitchen in the back. There are 4 four-person table seats. Oh? Was one table a two-person table? The first customers were a group of 2 men and a group of men and women. There were college students who made the old man feel out of place. The two men who came later were middle-aged and senior, looking at the menu, most items were around 1,300 yen including tax, except for the elaborate dishes (roast chicken, niku special, etc.) which were slightly more expensive, around 30-50 yen. Well, today let's try without any meat. Seasonal Vegetable Curry, 3 Spicy (medium spicy), Rice size S (150g), tax included 1,320 yen. The dish was served in 15 minutes after ordering. The style of serving with a pot holder and an iron pot (soup curry), and a wooden plate (rice) is the same as the main store. Did I order the "extra large soup" last time? Oh, that's why the iron pot was a bit bigger. This time, because the "vegetables" are crowded, the "soup" looks even less. Oh? It looks different from the menu image. Well, it's "seasonal vegetables," so it can't be helped. But isn't broccoli in season? Of course, it depends on the region. So, let's try a spoonful of soup. Ouch! Ouch! "Be careful, it's hot" they said. Oh? There's a slight difference from the main store. The first thing I noticed was that there was almost no "sourness" here. The "umami" and "richness" are a bit light. The first impression is of a "light and refreshing soup." As I continue to sip it little by little, the "umami" and "richness" gradually spread. Oh! I ordered 3 Spicy (medium spicy), but it's quite spicy this time. It stimulates the tongue and the inside of the mouth with a bit of a different feeling from the "tingling/spicy" sensation. Maybe it feels stronger because it's hot. Is it a "puffing/heating" sensation? What's that... At the main store, I used to choose 4 Spicy (extra spicy) and even thought, as a person who prefers medium spiciness, "maybe I should make it even spicier." ...Maybe at that time, I was eating soup curry more frequently and developing a tolerance for spiciness. Now, let's check out the "seasonal vegetables" for this time. ■ Eggplant ■ Pumpkin ■ Potatoes ■ Carrots ■ Green peppers ■ Onions □ Shimeji □ Maitake □ Spinach □ Cabbage □ Mizuna □ Cherry tomatoes (Note) ■: Basic vegetables □: Vegetables for this time (additional seasonal vegetables) The most delicious among them was the "pumpkin." The surface was crispy and it felt like it was baked in the oven rather than deep-fried? It was fluffy, slightly fragrant, and sweet! It was the same finish as the main store for the "potatoes".

I visited the Spice Spot in Kotosui, and I was happy to find out they also have a branch in Kotoni. I visited while they were offering a service on Instagram. I ordered the Chicken Vegetable Curry with a fried egg on top and rice (small size) with spice level 200. The vegetables were very large, especially the carrots which made me laugh. The chicken leg was tender and easy to eat. The spice level 200 was still manageable for me. I was told that if it gets too spicy, it can become powdery. The onions were delicious. The soup had a nice spice flavor, even with level 200. The best part was that the extra spice level was free. Thank you for the delicious meal! ❤️
