When we entered the restaurant, we were guided to a semi-private area, which was like a raised tatami seating. And the best part was that even though it was a semi-private area, we could sit with our shoes on. They really thought it through, didn't they? We opted for the "All-you-can-eat buffet with all-you-can-drink alcohol (5000 yen including tax)" and we were ready to go for it tonight as well ( ´∀｀ ) My daughter, her husband, and the four of us sat down, and I, being the one who eats the most, felt a bit embarrassed. Well, that's the secret to being a good young man - eating a lot. In the middle of the table, there was a roaster with charcoal fire. You could order unlimited amounts of meat using the tablet on the table. The first set was brought to us, and from there on, it was a free-for-all for 90 minutes. Soft drinks and ice cream were self-service. I won't go into detail about each and every piece of meat I ate (← don't be lazy!), but the quality of the meat was so high that it didn't feel like an all-you-can-eat buffet. This is a chain of yakiniku restaurants run by a butcher shop in Kitami. For some reason, Kitami is known as a yakiniku town. The horumon (offal) is especially famous. I ordered a set of kalbi, sagari, and horumon, along with rice, onigiri, and cold noodles. It's cooked on a shichirin (charcoal brazier), so it's very delicious. The onigiri is also big and very satisfying to eat. It offers great value for the price.

I visited the restaurant during the holiday lunch time, and surprisingly it was not crowded, probably due to the WBC semi-finals. The lunch menu is extensive, and I ordered the large portion of domestic beef sagari lunch because I was hungry. The rice came in a regular portion, and during lunchtime, you get one free drink from the drink bar. The generous portion of sagari arrived, and the kimchi side dish was deliciously spicy. I enjoyed the meal without getting tired of it.

You can often find meat from Ajikoen at supermarkets as well. The variety of food besides meat is great, the sauce is delicious, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable. I expected a hearty meal given the title "hearty rice," so I patiently waited for my order. The meal came after about 15 minutes, and to my dismay, it was not as hearty as I had hoped. The portion was disappointingly small, especially the beef rice bowl. I started with the cold noodles, which were refreshing and had a nice texture. The soup was also cold and tasty. However, the quantity was lacking. I quickly finished the noodles and moved on to the beef rice bowl. The beef had a decent thickness, but the overall quantity was insufficient. The flavor was okay, but there was too much pickled taste and not enough meat juice. The rice looked appetizing, but there seemed to be inconsistencies in the dishes. Overall, I felt disappointed as the quantity was not as expected, and it felt like they had forcefully made it healthier. They should specify the portion size on the menu for rice bowl dishes.

This place gives off a family-friendly vibe with a kids' play area, making it perfect for dining out with the family. We ordered the all-you-can-eat deluxe course and were very satisfied with the variety of yakiniku options available. The side dishes like namul were also plentiful and diverse, allowing us to try a variety of items without getting bored. One must-try dish at Aikoku-en is the salted onion, which we grilled in abundance. The flavor is quite strong, so be careful not to overeat and end up feeling bloated. The 10-item assorted yakiniku set had 2 pieces of each type of meat, which was great for trying a variety. However, with the additional assorted set, it ended up being too much food for us. I'm the only one in my family who eats horumon, so I ended up eating all of that. It was fun to try different types of horumon, grilling each one individually. When I ordered a soft drink, the staff mentioned that it was the same price as the all-you-can-drink option, but I only had one drink so it was a bit disappointing. Overall, the food was delicious.

The horumon was tender and didn't have any unpleasant smell, with a mix of chewy and thin slices. Both were delicious! The sagari tasted better the last time I had it. The bibimbap was a regular size, not mini, so it was very filling. I also added ice-cold hormone, so I ended up eating too much. The bibimbap may be lacking a bit of miso and the flavor could use a bit more punch, but overall it's a good deal.

The restaurant is spacious and being a yakiniku place, the ventilation is great, so I think they are taking good measures against COVID-19. I guess I won't be ordering the sagari lunch again.

The most delicious dish among all was the Genghis Khan. The seasoning and tenderness were excellent. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo of it. 😄 The cold noodles were also delicious. The total cost was over 10,000 yen for two people. The Matsusaka beef was quite expensive, and with this much food ordered including soup, rice, and noodles, I felt like my stomach was going to burst, so next time I'll stick to just two out of the three options.
