At Shibaura in Minato Ward, "Handmade Soba Shibata" has relocated from Ginza, where "Kyobashi Momiji-gawa" used to be. I'm so happy! They are particular about serving freshly milled, freshly made, and freshly boiled handmade soba. They use carefully selected buckwheat, which they mill in-house using a stone mill. Today's buckwheat flour is from Hokkaido, right? Since they can't make soba using the tap water from Shibaura, they use "natural water from the Southern Alps." The restaurant has about 40 seats, including half-private rooms and tatami seating, with a warm and elegant interior that emphasizes wood. It's stylish that they only have shichimi (seven spice blend) on the table without other condiments. Looking at the lunch menu, last time I had the "sashimi bowl set with soba (warm)" for ¥1380, but this time I opted for the "shrimp tempura bowl set with soba (cold)" for ¥1480. The handmade, thin, two-eight soba is delightful. I took a sip and nodded three times. Yes, yes, yes, it’s definitely delicious. The dipping sauce is rich with bonito and kelp dashi. Above all, the soba is sweet... this truly represents Edo-style soba. I enjoy using wasabi and green onions in turn, completely absorbed in my meal. Then there's the shrimp tempura bowl, presented beautifully. It includes one shrimp and four vegetable pieces (eggplant, maitake mushroom, pumpkin, and shishito pepper). This is also delicious. I nodded four times. The cucumber pickles for garnish are a nice touch. The final fruit dessert is delicious as well. This is definitely my number one soba of the year. I think it would be nice to gather for a new year’s party here, sharing a duck hot pot and finishing off with soba (´∀`)/ Cheers!

For lunch, I visited "Teuchi Soba Shibata" in Shibaura 3-chome. This restaurant has relocated from Ginza, where it was known as "Kyobashi Momijikawa," to the intersection of Shibaura and Yachiyobashi. This was my second visit. They carefully select buckwheat and mill it themselves with a stone mill right in the shop. They are committed to serving freshly milled, hand-crafted, and freshly boiled soba. Today’s buckwheat is from Hokkaido, specifically "Kitawase." The restaurant has about 40 seats, including semi-private rooms and tatami mat areas, with warm, elegant wooden interiors. It’s stylish not to have condiments on the tables, just some shichimi chili pepper. Looking at the lunch menu, I was tempted by the "Katsudon Set" for ¥1580, but I ended up ordering the "Sashimi Don Set" for ¥1380. You can choose between soba or udon, and of course, I chose soba, with the option of hot or cold, going for hot. The hand-made fine two-eight soba was delectable. After one bite, I nodded twice in approval. Yes, this is delicious. The dipping sauce has a robust flavor coming from the bonito and kelp broth. Most importantly, the soba is sweet — really sweet. This is genuine Edomae-style soba. I was genuinely impressed. I used the green onion and shichimi sequentially and ate eagerly. Then came the sashimi bowl, beautifully presented with four unique pieces. They used real wasabi with the soy sauce, and it was also delicious. I nodded three times in appreciation. The cucumber pickles and other side dishes, as well as the seasonal fruit served as dessert, were all very tasty. This might just be my number one soba of the year! ( ´∀` )/ Cheers!

The restaurant offers a variety of soba noodles and three different levels of tempura. Being a woman who loves to eat, a large serving of soba is just right for me. They also have my favorite roasted duck, which made me very satisfied. I enjoyed the fluffy, creamy omelet as well. The interior is bright and clean, and I noticed many families and older people dining there. I wonder if they do soba for the New Year at the end of the year? I thought it might get crowded.

The soba restaurant is located at the edge of the dining area near the Shibaura Exit of Tamachi Station, in a one-story street-level shop. It has a lot of seating and seems like a place you can casually drop in. During dinner time, there is a good selection of appetizers, and the prices are reasonable. - The chilled tanuki soba features homemade noodles made on-site, which have a great balance of soba flavor and smooth texture. The fried mochi topping adds an exquisite combination of flavors from the dipping sauce and oil. - The duck hot pot is quite generous in portion. The duck is blanched perfectly, and with every bite, it releases its rich flavor. The moderate chewiness is also very enjoyable. You can finish off with udon as well. This place seems perfect for when you want to enjoy soba around the Tamachi area.

I ordered the Ootehori Course for 7,800 yen. We used this place for a company dinner with 9 people. As expected for this price without an all-you-can-drink option, every dish was absolutely delicious! Among them, the duck tataki, similar to roast beef, and the sashimi with medium-fat tuna, along with the chewy seiro soba, were the highlights. Plus, the seiro soba could be refilled, which meant the always-hungry guys in our group kept going back for more! (Refills had to be a full portion.) The dessert at the end was ice cream that included buckwheat, allowing us to enjoy the taste of a soba restaurant until the very last bite! There was also a wide variety of sake, and my sake-loving colleague seemed very satisfied. I would love to visit again if the opportunity arises. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I visited Shibata's hand-made soba restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, the daily special and sashimi bowl set were sold out. I hesitated between the shrimp tempura bowl and the katsudon but ended up ordering the katsudon! The soba had great texture and aroma, and it was far superior to that of chain soba restaurants. The katsudon used Shirokanepork, which had a sweet and delicious fat. The portion was just right, so I was very satisfied. The lunch set costs around 1500 yen, but it's worth it. I'll definitely come again!

I visited Shibata, a hand-made soba restaurant in Tamachi, for some business I had to attend to. The atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely from the outside. Since it was a Saturday, I was able to enter without waiting in line. I ordered the shrimp and rice bowl set for lunch (1480 yen). The shrimp bowl, though small, was filled with a variety of vegetables including shimeji mushrooms, bell peppers, eggplant, and pumpkin. The rice was delicious, and the sweet and savory sauce was just right. The soba noodles also had a great soba flour flavor and were very tasty. With pickles and dessert included, the price is a great value for what you get.

I visited for lunch but arrived a bit late, and unfortunately, the daily special had already sold out. What a shame! The soba was delicious, and the fish and rice in the seafood bowl were also very tasty. It seems like they really put a lot of care into their lunch menu. Having fruit included is a nice touch too! I definitely want to visit again.

First Visit No. 5798 1. Purpose of Visit I visited to explore the area around Tamachi and select a lunch spot. 2. Restaurant Information - Genre according to Tabelog: Soba - Opened on December 30, 2023 - The restaurant specializes in "handmade soba," made from self-milled flour. - Hours: - Weekdays: 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM - Weekends and Holidays: 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM - Closed: No regular holidays - Seating: 36 seats 3. Crowdedness and Atmosphere I visited around 1:00 PM on a weekday with 4 customers ahead of me and 2 after. The atmosphere is casual. 4. Service The service was standard, following a script. 5. Ordered Items - Shrimp Tempura Rice Bowl Set: 1,480 yen (includes a mini tempura bowl, soba, pickles, and dessert) After ordering, the food arrived in about 8-9 minutes. The tempura bowl featured shrimp, eggplant, pumpkin, bell pepper, and enoki mushrooms—5 kinds in total! The flavors were excellent for a lunch set. The handmade soba, probably a two-eighths blend, had a nice aroma and a pleasant texture. The dipping sauce was mildly sweet and smooth, appealing to a wide range of tastes. The soba water was cloudy with a light thickness, which I prefer. Overall, it was a delightful meal. Thank you very much!

I visited on Sunday afternoon, and the place was almost full. It seems to be quite popular since it just opened. For lunch, there was a great value set, and I ordered the katsudon set. The set comes with a choice of soba or udon, and I opted for the mori soba. The flavor of the soba, both the noodles and the dipping sauce, was very elegant, but as someone who isn't an expert in soba, I found it a little lacking in depth. This is a matter of personal preference. The katsudon was delicious, but the seasoning was rather mild. The staff were very pleasant and made for a nice atmosphere. Thank you for the meal!

Tamachi Station - about a five-minute walk towards Shibaura, I found a new soba restaurant. The spacious interior is a lovely atmosphere, and they are open for lunch. As soon as I opened the door, the pleasant scent of new wood welcomed me. On this occasion, I enjoyed a course that included tempura and sashimi. There isn’t an all-you-can-drink menu, but the drink selection is extensive, and I was thrilled to see my favorite umeboshi sour, complete with two umeboshi! It made me so happy. The tempura, sashimi, and grilled duck were all delicious, but the grilled duck particularly paired well with the drinks. While looking at the menu, I noticed plenty of a la carte options for snacks, which confirmed my belief that this is a great place for soba drinking. The soba is made in-house (though I couldn’t see it being made), and it had a great texture. Personally, I thought the flavor of the soba dipping sauce was just right, making it a delightful way to end the course. Soba from a soba restaurant is truly delicious. The ice cream at the end had a strong soba flavor as well, and it was incredibly tasty! After reading other reviews, I’m curious about how good lunch looks, too. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

I had passed by a beautiful restaurant earlier and was curious about it, so I decided to visit around 11:30 PM, also keeping my uric acid levels in mind. The restaurant was almost full. I ordered the katsudon set (1,580 yen), and both the soba and katsudon were delicious. However, the portion size was a bit small.

From the Shibaura exit of Tamachi Station, it takes just under 10 minutes to walk to this restaurant. The facade is open and beautiful, and the interior is spacious, featuring three private rooms suitable for group dining, along with six large tables. For an appetizer before the soba, I enjoyed some sashimi, including fatty tuna and octopus from Akashi. I also ordered some satsuma-age and savored a warm sake as I drank it slowly. To finish off, I had thin, hand-made soba served on a bamboo tray, accompanied by tempura. I thought to myself that next time, I should try rice dishes or warm soba, but every time I visit a soba restaurant, I end up ordering the cold soba. I figured it might be a good idea to just order both right from the start. The warm sake I ordered was quite hot when it arrived, so I kindly asked for it to be made lukewarm again. Despite their busy schedule, the staff provided attentive service. Next time, I plan to come for lunch to try the warm soba.

I visited for lunch on a rainy day. Perhaps because of the weather, I was able to get a seat without waiting. I had the sashimi rice bowl set. Since it wasn't crowded, my order arrived in about five minutes. My first impression was that the bowl was small! When I tried it, I found only four pieces of sashimi. The soba was neither good nor bad. For a man, the portion might feel a bit insufficient.

After a long time, I found myself longing for soba, so I looked up a nearby restaurant and found Shibata. When I arrived at the restaurant under the harsh sunlight, it was bustling with nearby office workers since it was lunchtime. I managed to be seated without waiting and ordered the daily special set. That day's set included a rice bowl with eggplant and tofu in a savory sauce. The sauce, infused with dashi, paired well with the tofu and eggplant—delicious! The soba was thin but had a nice chewiness and was very tasty!

It's a relatively new soba restaurant, and the interior is very clean. The staff is friendly and efficient, making for a pleasant experience. The restroom is also very clean! I visited for lunch, and each lunch set comes with a bowl of rice or donburi, side dishes, and fruit, all priced between 1000 to 1500 yen. Compared to ordering separately, the lunch sets are quite a good deal. The donburi dishes are all delicious, and the portion sizes are just right. The soba itself is honestly average, but overall, I'd definitely like to visit this place again! Thank you for the meal.

After a fast, a recovery meal wouldn't be complete without 100% buckwheat noodles (soba). The spicy grated daikon dipping sauce pairs well with the firm texture of the noodles. You can enjoy it without the dipping sauce too, using real wasabi. To finish off, I had the usual rich soba broth. It was delicious!

I visited Shibata for lunch for the first time, where the daily special was "duck rice bowl". I ordered the daily special with cold soba. The seiro soba was wonderful and delicious—was it 100% buckwheat? It had a great flavor. The dipping sauce was a bit sweet and I felt it could use some improvement. However, I was disappointed with the duck bowl. Was the duck meat canned? I appreciate the restaurant's pricing, as they offer both the bowl and soba for a very reasonable price, but I couldn't really taste the duck—it seemed more like shredded meat of some kind. It's a shame because the soba was so good.

This is my favorite soba restaurant that I visit repeatedly. The regular option is two-to-eight soba, but if I request it, they can switch it to 100% buckwheat soba. On hot days, I can't help but crave their seafood with grated daikon soba from the morning (laughs). They always make a rich soba broth for the finish, which is great for soba lovers. It was delicious!

I had lunch at "Teuchi Soba Shibata" in Shibaura 3-chome. A hidden gem in Ginza, "Kyobashi Momijigawa," has recently opened next to Yoshinoya by the Yachiyo Bridge. They are dedicated to providing handmade soba made from carefully selected buckwheat, milled in-house with a stone mill, and served fresh and hot. It's just a three-minute walk from my home, but it's my first visit. Upon entering, I was welcomed by a warm interior that utilizes wood beautifully. I couldn't help but feel nostalgic, thinking, "So, a refined soba restaurant has opened in Shibaura." The restaurant has about 40 seats, including semi-private rooms and tatami seating. Only shichimi (a Japanese spice blend) is provided on the table, which adds to the charm. Today's soba flour comes from Maruoka, Sakai City in Fukui Prefecture. The menu has an attractive lineup, and I was strongly tempted by the lunch option "Katsudon Set (Shirokane Pork)" for 1580 yen. However, I decided to start with the "Daily Set" for 990 yen. Today's daily donburi was "Tororo Don." You can choose between soba and udon, and of course, I opted for soba. You can also choose it hot or cold, but since it's rainy and chilly, I went for hot. The dish arrived quickly and looked exquisite. The handmade, thin, two-eight ratio soba made my spine straighten with the first sip. It was delicious! The katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) and kombu (seaweed) broth added a delicate flavor. (I notice I've used "delicate" a lot in today's review, haha.) This is the essence of Edo-style soba. I continued to savor the noodles, adjusting flavors with scallions and shichimi. Then came the Tororo Don, which also had a refined seasoning. They used real wasabi instead of the powdered kind, showcasing the restaurant's pride. Every part of the meal, from the pickles to the finishing fruit dessert, was elegant. It's hard to believe all of this is just 990 yen. This might be my number one soba of the year!
