They also have it in Furano, but I missed it there so I was glad to try it in Otaru. The soft serve ice cream was delicious, and the melon serving as the bowl was quite tasty as well. It wasn't the season for Hokkaido melons, so it was melon from outside the prefecture, but the balance between the melon and vanilla soft serve was amazing! I had it after a meal, and I devoured it in one go. Besides the vanilla ice cream, there is also a melon ice cream version, so I recommend the melon version for those who want to satisfy their craving for melon.

It was a quaint, classical shop and I ordered the melon soft serve. They seemed to have a standard for the sweetness of the melon, as they measured it carefully. And when I tasted it, I was surprised. Even though it was a bit early in the season, it was sweet, soft, and incredibly delicious. The soft serve itself was rich and creamy. I went to a shop that I saw on Instagram or something. Since it's not melon season in Hokkaido, I ended up having a high-quality melon from Shizuoka. I went to Poplar Farm, which is famous for serving soft serve ice cream on melons. The location is a bit away from Otaru Station, near some warehouses. There is a paid parking nearby, so you can easily navigate there. I ordered the "Santa's Beard" and "Santa's Belly". Unfortunately, they were using melons from Shizuoka instead of Hokkaido at this time of year. I tried them anyway, and I found that melon and soft serve ice cream actually go well together. The sweetness and texture of the melon combined with the soft serve created a great synergy, and I finished it in no time. I would like to try it again when they have Hokkaido melons next time.

I couldn't finish the half of the melon, so I cut it into quarters. It was sweet and delicious.
