Located in Namba, Osaka, this restaurant specializes in meat dishes such as sukiyaki. The atmosphere inside is charming, with traditional Japanese architectural designs that make the building a joy to look at. I visited during lunchtime and enjoyed a reasonably priced set menu. While I may not be able to fully evaluate the taste due to the set menu, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. I was able to get a table quickly as I arrived at a slightly off-peak time. According to the waiter, the restaurant has been getting busier lately with an increase in inbound tourists, so it can get crowded. Depending on the timing, it may be difficult to get a table without a reservation. The waitress escorted me to my table and took care of the initial cooking. The sukiyaki here is prepared with a different style of broth compared to Kyoto, but it was still delicious without any noticeable difference. The meat was tender and flavorful, definitely of higher quality than what I usually buy at home. They provided two eggs per person from the start, and the rice portion was generous enough for about 2-2.5 servings. The appetizers and pickles were also tasty, leaving me completely satisfied with the meal. All of this for 6050 yen (including tax) seems like a reasonable price to me.

I visited for the first time. The introspective atmosphere that evokes the past is nice, and the seating is spacious, so I was able to enjoy my meal in a relaxed mood. Foreign tourists were coming one after another, but they were smoothly guided, so the waiting time was not long. The food is simple but the meat is delicious, and it goes well with alcohol. I think it's a good restaurant for those who want to enjoy the atmosphere. Please note that the last order is before 8:00 PM, so be careful with your reservation time.

Draft beer for 800 yen. Seasonal appetizer with sweetfish, yuba, sea pineapple, shrimp, foie gras, conger eel sushi, tempura, sukiyaki, and flower for 12,650 yen. Vegetable tofu with leeks, mitsuba, shredded konjac, shiitake mushrooms, and highball Suntory Reserve for 850 yen. Rice with highball Suntory Reserve, tamagoyaki rice, and tea. It seems that the main dish Beef One is not available at the main store!

I visited during the Obon period on a Sunday afternoon. I made a reservation through Tabelog, about 3 weeks in advance, to celebrate my wedding anniversary. This is a long-standing sukiyaki restaurant in Dotonbori with over 100 years of history. The interior is traditional Japanese with a calming atmosphere, popular even among foreign visitors. I ordered the "Sukiyaki Lunch for 6500 yen" which was served promptly as I had reserved it in advance. The sukiyaki here is cooked in the Kanto style, simmered in a broth after grilling the meat, not seasoned after grilling like in the Kansai style. Today's meat was from Saga, with two types available - lean and fatty. The lean meat was delicious, full of flavor, but the fatty one was a bit too heavy for my taste. The vegetables included shiitake mushrooms, konjac, tofu, mitsuba, and green onions. It was my first time having mitsuba in sukiyaki, and its slight bitterness added a nice touch. This restaurant, located in the heart of Namba, has an atmosphere that you wouldn't expect, making it a great place to celebrate special occasions. Thank you for the meal.

I went for lunch here. Perhaps I had too high expectations because it was recommended by a local. The quality of the meat and the service were both a bit disappointing. The sukiyaki, which can be enjoyed in a traditional Japanese tatami room, might be popular among foreign tourists. The sukiyaki lunch set for two, along with three soft drinks, cost 13,600 yen.

I visited a long-established restaurant for the first time and it was a nostalgic experience. The atmosphere inside was great, with a retro vibe. I was seated in a private room with a table and a gas stove that gave off a Showa era feel, allowing me to feel like I had traveled back in time. I ordered the sukiyaki for lunch. The beef was from Nagasaki, black wagyu, and they change the origin of the beef weekly. The meat was quite thick and satisfying to eat, cooked slightly rare. I indulged in a feast for lunch and left very satisfied!

We ordered the 8400 yen set, which was the cheapest meal and included appetizers, meat, vegetables, and a drink. The service was good, and we were shown to our own room where we could talk freely. We didn't realize this was a Kanto-style sukiyaki restaurant, so we were expecting grilled meat, but it turned out to be a simmered dish. There was only one round of service at the beginning, and we didn't receive any assistance after that, which was disappointing. The quality of the meat was average, but there was a lot of it, enough for even three people. It didn't seem worth the price, so we'll try a different restaurant next time.

[Visit Date] Dinner on 5/1/2023
[Order] Special Course 2 for 2 people (Kumamoto, around 180 grams), 5 draft beers
I had always wanted to visit Hariju-san, so I went there with my mother since dining alone is not my thing. We made a last-minute reservation and the private rooms were fully booked, so we were seated in one of the four tables in a room. While Hariju-san is known for its sukiyaki, I prefer shabu-shabu, so I chose the top course. The meat was indeed top quality and delicious, but the sesame sauce was a bit too strong for my taste. The portion size of 180 grams was quite generous. I was stuffed by the end of the meal. The interior had a nice atmosphere, but the casual clientele gave off a different vibe. The bill came out to 41,250 yen for the two of us. As we left the restaurant, it started pouring rain, and since we only had one umbrella, we had to dash to the car! Thank you for the meal.

I visited the restaurant for an early dinner on a weekday. I made a reservation for a table a week in advance since it was a busy tourist season. The restaurant wasn't crowded when I arrived early. I was seated in a private room that was about 4.5 tatami mats in size. Despite the lack of crowd, the servers seemed a bit flustered and rushed, which was slightly disappointing given the nice atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu had 3-4 courses, with the price varying based on the marbling of the meat. I chose the "Tsuki" course (around 9,000 yen). The appetizers were okay, nothing too special. The sukiyaki was cooked in a broth style, and the meat was surprisingly thick and delicious. The egg and broth complemented each other well. The rice was served in a traditional wooden container, and you could choose when to have it with the meal. The portion of meat was generous, and even though I went with a friend, I couldn't finish my share. Overall, I would rate the sukiyaki and the restaurant ambiance a 3.7 out of 5, but I rated it as such due to some minor drawbacks. I would like to visit again sometime.

I visited for a sukiyaki lunch. I didn't have a reservation on a weekday, but I was able to get in easily. It seems that there are many days when it gets crowded with foreign tourists, so it was lucky timing for me. Of course, they will cook the meat for you at the beginning. While they cook the meat, you can enjoy some small side dishes as you wait.

I tried the sukiyaki at this restaurant in Kansai style, which I enjoyed. The meat was delicious, but I felt it lacked a little something. The portion of vegetables was generous. It would have been nice if dessert was included as well.

"Hariju Dotonbori Honten" I had a celebration and it was my first time visiting. Shabu-shabu Ginkgo for 7700 yen, draft beer, bottled beer. The meat is incredibly thick. This is good quality meat. Sukiyaki can be heavy on the stomach, but shabu-shabu is refreshing so you can eat this rich meat. I probably won't come back often due to the price, but it has private rooms and I think it's good for special occasions.

The atmosphere at the entrance was nice, but once inside, it had a quaint, old-fashioned feel. The sukiyaki course required a minimum number of people. They cooked one piece for us at first, but then told us to do the rest ourselves. Despite the somewhat high price, there was no attendant to assist us. Two dishes we didn't order were brought to us, but we declined. They didn't have any premium sake, only one type of dry sake. There were many attendants, but they all seemed idle and were chatting. They had a system where you press a button to call for service. I probably won't be visiting again.

The interior of the restaurant had a traditional atmosphere with tatami mats, and I enjoyed the lean and delicious Misuji shabu-shabu. The sesame sauce and ponzu lacked a bit of punch, and the vegetables were a bit scarce, but they were elegantly presented. The freshly cooked white rice was delicious.

I visited without a reservation. Although Namba was crowded with people, I really wanted to eat sukiyaki, so I went with a willingness to wait, but I was able to enter smoothly. Perhaps because it is a long-established restaurant, there were many foreigners, and the old folk house-like atmosphere was very nice. The meat was delicious and there was so much that I couldn't finish it all, so I was able to fully enjoy it. It's around 10,000 yen per person, so it might be good for a special occasion!

The sukiyaki broth in Kansai style was a bit light for my taste, but I tried the Miyazaki beef which was satisfyingly thickly sliced that day. They also provide rice, pickles, and dessert upon request.

I had plans to go to a classical concert in Osaka with my daughter, so I searched and went to this restaurant. I was able to go on a course invitation by accumulating Shiseido points, and I was very satisfied! I thought I would like the local flavor the most in sukiyaki, but I was happy with the delicious sukiyaki even in Kansai! I want to go again! Thank you for the meal!

I happened to see "Kubo no Ongaeshi" and immediately made a reservation at Kubamoto. Even though there were only two of us, we were guided to a private room with a Showa-era atmosphere, which was really nice. I chose the sukiyaki course for lunch, along with my favorite chawanmushi. The sauce was not as thick as in Kyoto or Matsuzaka, and there was plenty of meat. For the rice, I enjoyed it with a self-serve egg topping. The special chawanmushi for 1400 yen was amazing. The texture and ingredients were perfect. Even though it didn't have luxurious ingredients like sea urchin or eel, it was very delicious. It was a delightful lunch to conclude the Osaka food tour.

After watching a Kabuki performance, I enjoyed sukiyaki at the restaurant next to the Shochikuza theater. The appetizers were impressive, using seasonal ingredients and some rare items like pike conger roe. The main sukiyaki dish was cooked just right, with the meat being tender and easy to chew. The rice was also delicious, with a noticeable difference in quality. However, the special course may be too much food for a man in his 50s. In the future, I will make sure to inquire about the course options before ordering.

Harie-san, a long-established store, truly lives up to its reputation. This bento box, priced at around 2000 yen, is really worth it. The pork fillet was incredibly delicious, and the other side dishes unique to a butcher shop were also tasty. However, the salmon lacked flavor, but overall, I would definitely buy this bento again.

On June 11, 2022, around 2:00 PM, I enjoyed various foods and drinks. In these uncertain times due to the recession, I believe that it is important to cherish satisfying experiences and things we love, rather than just saving money. So, I decided to treat myself to a nice lunch. I love sukiyaki, so whenever I want to indulge a little, it's the first thing that comes to mind. Where do you usually go for a special lunch? This time, I had a very satisfying sukiyaki meal. Oh! I forgot to take a picture of the meat... It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
