In Mita, "Tare Yakiniku Kinnikuya Tamachi" has opened, and it is a new location of Kinnikuya, which has branches in Shibuya and Sangenjaya. It's located along the street between Mita Station and Keio University, likely targeting Keio students! The interior features bright red tables and chairs, giving it a casual, almost town-chinese restaurant feel. On this visit, we ordered a la carte, focusing on the signature dishes. The appetizer was beef tendon stew, which is so good that you could drink as much as you want with it! A must-try here is the "Wolf Yaki," where a large chunk of red meat is grilled to perfection. You can choose between 200g or 300g (the photo shows 200g). Additionally, you can order your preferred weight. The dish ends with a dramatic pour of Jack Daniel's whiskey, igniting for a spectacle! The flavors are bold and when you dip it in garlic soy sauce, it's the best! It goes perfectly with drinks. The tongue steak and today's special cuts (which that day were Ichibo and shoulder loin) also have a strong flavor that makes you crave white rice. I appreciated that the cold noodles are available in a small size so you can order one for each person! We ordered a large size of the special beef tendon curry. Why is beef tendon curry from a yakiniku restaurant so delicious? I could eat that for lunch every day! The most affordable course with all-you-can-drink starts from 5000 yen. I visited on a weekday around 6 PM, and despite the early hour, the place was already bustling with almost a full house. It was happy hour, so I enjoyed a Kaku highball for ¥270, which felt like a great deal. The appetizer was ¥385, featuring braised beef sinew, and it was delicious—I finished every drop of the broth. I ordered several dishes: - Spicy Kobukuro sashimi for ¥660. The spicy sauce paired perfectly with the crunchy textures of the kobukuro. - Chinese-style Gatsu (spicy) for ¥638. The stir-fried gatsu had a flavor that complemented the drinks well. - Sensational sashimi of Senmai for ¥858. Its soft and jelly-like texture was irresistible, highly recommended. - Thick-cut red meat skirt steak for ¥1,485. It was more tender and flavorful than I had imagined. - The signature "Kin Meat Shop" skirt steak for ¥1,375 with a large portion upgrade for ¥330. Highly recommended—getting the large portion doubles the amount, making it a fantastic deal with the right texture and rich flavor. - Regular rice (medium) for ¥385. It was a decent portion. - Garlic rice on a special grilling plate for ¥858. It came on a hot plate with a substantial amount. This is highly recommended, tasting like a spicier version of Mongolian Tanmen but not overly spicy. The broth was so good that I wanted to finish every drop. - Lastly, seasonal sweet potato ice cream for ¥418. It was a refreshing end. I have a weakness for words like "fresh" and "sashimi," so I was really tempted and decided to have some grilled meat for lunch. I ordered the "Kinnikuya Special" for 1,500 yen. I thought the tongue would be pretty similar to what I'd find at a chain restaurant, but the other meats were delicious enough considering the price. Today, I'm dining at "Tare Yakiniku Kinnikuya Tamachi Branch," located about a 10-minute walk from Tamachi Station and just under 5 minutes from Mita Station. The interior features mainly tables, with striking red tables and chairs. You can place your order by scanning a QR code with your smartphone and using LINE's features. From 7 PM, there's an incredible Happy Hour with half-price deals for those who register on LINE, which is amazing! As a starter, we had oden (a type ofJapanese stew) made with beef tripe, which was rich in flavor and delicious. We selected the recommended two pieces of rare grilled harami (beef skirt) nigiri. The tender harami was delightful, topped with soy sauce koji. The highlight was the beautifully presented fresh beef tripe sashimi, which was stunningly white! I couldn't help but exclaim in delight. It was enjoyed simply with ponzu sauce, and the texture was great. Then we had the premium wagyu harami, which had beautiful marbling and a sweet taste. The meat was wonderfully tender too. Next was a mixed platter of tongue, featuring superior, top-grade, and cheek meat, along with pork tongue. The cheek meat had a rich umami flavor and was delicious! The superior tongue was indeed impressive, with great tenderness and flavor. We also tried the local specialty, Jack Daniel's grilled meat (200g), which was prepared by the staff. They first grilled large cuts of meat on both sides and then added Jack Daniel's for a flambé finish. It was cut into manageable sizes for serving and delivered a robust flavor of red meat. The 200g portion size was just right. It's rare to find a place that serves raw harami! The menu also featured a variety of fresh hormone sashimi, showcasing the quality of the meats. Plus, the half-price drinks during Happy Hour further enhanced the experience!

The Uru Tora Beef features delicious lean meat, and using ice-cold fresh green peppers in place of traditional lettuce has turned me into a fan of this new way to enjoy my barbecue! I can't imagine having Yakiniku without fresh green peppers anymore! One of the hot spots in Tamachi, "Kin Niku-ya," has deliciously high-quality meat at prices that are too good to miss. The peppers, chilled in ice water, enhance the flavor of the grilled meat. The quality of the peppers, sourced directly from contracted farmers, is outstanding! For a special treat, there's the "Fresh Hormone Tasting Platter" at 1,628 yen, featuring four different types of fresh offal, including wagyu heart, black intestine, wagyu tongue, and cow reproductive organ, delivered daily for maximum freshness. Each piece is firm and has a unique flavor. The wagyu heart was particularly amazing, and I couldn’t resist ordering extra of the Wagyu Heart Sashimi with egg yolk for 770 yen. It's super fresh and sweet, thanks to their careful preparation. The "Wagyu A5 Seared Sushi" for 418 yen is a visual delight with beautifully marbled meat that melts in your mouth. I visited "Tare Yakiniku Kinnikuya Tamachi" which is about a 6-minute walk from Tamachi Station. I ordered the signature "Kinnikuya Tasting Course" for 5,980 yen, which includes a 3-hour all-you-can-drink option. The menu featured a variety of items: a platter of kimchi and namul, crunchy fresh bell peppers, the signature beef tendon stew, a sashimi platter with three types, three types of tongue for tasting, three types of kalbi for tasting, four types of hormone for tasting, and a spicy mala rice bowl. With this many menu items and a 3-hour all-you-can-drink option for 5,980 yen, it was a great deal! The mala rice bowl, which isn’t even grilled meat, was especially delicious. Thank you for the meal!

Instead of lettuce, I use raw bell pepper to wrap the meat, and it’s so yummy! The wagyu kalbi is visually appealing and has a nice juiciness that makes you want white rice. The marinated kalbi is thick but surprisingly tender and rich. - Fresh Hormones Tasting Quartet: Fresh wagyu shima chō! Traditional shima chō is my favorite; it’s plump and sweet. The fresh wagyu kopuchan is also crunchy. The pork guts have a nice texture perfect for snacking. The wagyu heart is wonderfully plump and tasty. - 100% Beef Minced Meat! Spicy and Numbling Mapo Don: Ending with mapo tofu may be unusual, but it’s scrumptious! It’s not overly spicy, with deep flavor and a nice umami from the peppercorn. I made a reservation for two people for Monday at 7 PM. When we arrived, there was only one other group, so it was quite empty. As time passed, more seats gradually filled up, so it’s safer to make a reservation. It's easy to book a table here. It’s within a 5-minute walk from Mita Station. They have large beers, which I tried, but the mugs are so big that women might find them a bit difficult to handle with both hands. I came here because they offer peppers and grilled meat, and it seemed to have good cost-performance. Personally, I think grilled meat is generally delicious, so I prioritized cost. The meat here is tasty, and both the meat and drinks are reasonably priced, so I would definitely return. The ventilation was also fine. The harami (skirt beef) was delicious. The restaurant was a bit cold inside, so it might be a good idea for women who are sensitive to cold to bring an extra layer in the summer.

The restaurant, which opened less than a year ago, has a retro yet new and clean interior, with red tables that remind me of traditional Chinese restaurants. We opted for a special weekday-only course for four or more people that includes 23 dishes plus a three-hour all-you-can-drink option. This course is a fantastic deal, priced at 5,980 yen, reduced from 7,500 yen for a limited time. Additional items and drinks can be ordered via a QR code. ◆ Kimchi and Namul Platter (7 types) - Includes napa cabbage kimchi, cubed radish, cucumber kimchi, bean sprout namul, komatsuna namul, fern root namul, and vinegar radish namul. The platter is impressively generous, and I particularly enjoyed the flavor of the cubed radish and vinegar radish. ◆ Magical Crispy Meat Miso Stuffed Peppers - These were amazing! The crunchy peppers paired perfectly with the meat miso, making for a great snack with drinks. ◆ Signature Braised Beef Tendon - The tender beef tendon was irresistible. Although it looked spicy, the seasoning was just right, making it incredibly delicious. ◆ Fresh Sashimi Platter (3 types) - Includes wagyu heart, kuitan (pork stomach), and roast tongue sashimi. The tasting of meats begins here! The heart and roast tongue were delicious, but the kuitan dipped in sweet soy sauce was especially vibrant in texture and the perfect size for snacking. ◆ Tongue Tasting Three-Way Platter - Includes shoulder meat salt grill, NEXT tongue salt (pork), and fresh upper tongue salt (with green onions). The comparison of pork and beef tongue was fantastic. The beef tongue was the highlight and adding green onions enhanced its flavor significantly. ◆ Hearty Karubi Tasting Three-Way Platter - Includes Y's karubi, Kinnikuya's top karubi, and jar-marinated karubi. Y's karubi is sourced from the same supplier as Yoshinoya, evoking a familiar taste. The top karubi was tender and delicious, while the jar-marinated karubi stood out with its rich flavor and soft texture. I found the sauce so tasty I had to order more! ◆ Fresh Hormone Tasting Four-Way Platter - Includes wagyu heart, pork chicken intestine, wagyu liver, and wagyu chicken intestine. The heart was crunchy and tasty, while the liver was rich without any off-putting odor. Both chicken intestines had great textures and flavors, especially the wagyu which was fatty and satisfying for someone who enjoys rich flavors. ◆ 100% Beef Minced Meat! Spicy Sichuan-style Mapo Rice Bowl - This dish arrived sizzling in a cast iron pot. The rice had a nice crust and was fragrant, and when mixed with the spicy mapo tofu and egg yolk, it became even better. I could easily devour this all on its own. ◆ Drinks - We enjoyed beer (PSB), Kinnikuya's hometown highball, and specialty lemon sours, among others. Since it was a three-hour all-you-can-drink, I started to forget what I had later on. When I ordered without the QR code, I was surprised to receive a large mug by default. Overall, we had an enjoyable three hours filled with lots of meat and drinks. With happy hour deals offering half-price drinks and special half-price menus on the 29th of each month, the prices are quite reasonable. The all-you-can-drink course is definitely a great option!
