I visited "Burk Bakery" on the basement floor while visiting Tokyu. The main store is in Maruyama and I rarely get to go there. There is also a branch at Marui Imai, but I thought it would be more convenient to be closer to the station! I wanted to buy the "Macadamia France" based on Zaby's review, but they were not selling it that day, which was disappointing. After debating for over 5 minutes on which bread to buy, I ended up choosing the "Three Nut Florentine (¥378)" and a bread I had never tried before, the "Manul Bread (¥335)".
- Three Nut Florentine
According to the official Facebook page, this seems to be a new product released just last spring. In simple terms, it's like a thick baked sablé dough with plenty of caramelized and nuts. The Florentine itself is not bread but a baked confectionery. I was worried that the taste of caramel might evaporate, so I reheated it because I wanted to eat it in a crispy state! Although it may not be conveyed in the attached image, the shiny appearance of the caramel intensified even more! The nuts packed tightly on the surface have a mild sweetness, each one combining bitterness and nuttiness. The crispy texture also adds to the experience, and since the caramel retains its sweetness even when warmed, it is recommended to bake it in the oven before eating for those seeking a crispy texture. It seems like you can enjoy it with a crispy texture like pie!
- Manul Bread
It seems to be a French bread filled with garlic butter, sugar, honey, and cream cheese. I've heard the name before, but it was news to me that it is a bread originating from Korea. Since it is a French bread dough, I decided to bake it before eating. Even before it was fully warmed, the scent of garlic spread, stimulating the appetite! Once you take a bite, the outside is crispy, and the inside is chewy like a baguette! It has a punchy, salty, but fragrant and flavorful garlic butter taste! The cream cheese is creamy and sweet! The two flavors blend together exquisitely, and the addictive deliciousness is truly devilish! You should try trendy items at least once, and this bread makes you realize that. I also found Brussels and other breads interesting besides the ones I bought this time, so I hope to have a day when I can buy Macadamia France with them. I'll continue to visit bread shops around Sapporo Station! Thank you for the meal.
