Son and daughter's first family trip as adults ~. I'm so happy. A two-night, three-day trip to Furano, Hokkaido, Day 1. Chose a restaurant to avoid the increasing number of COVID infections. The restaurant had low ratings on Tabelog, but overall the food was delicious. Opted for local specialties like a typical tourist. The potatoes were tastier than those in Hiroshima... something must be different ^^; As a Sapporo beer fan, I finished my beer quickly. They offered regular and mega-sized jugs. When I asked the staff how much was in a mega jug, they said about the equivalent of 2 regular beers... Regular beer for 500 yen, mega jug for 990 yen... I thought 2 regular beers would be better ^^; But then I noticed on the menu that the mega jug was 1 liter... Oh no, a bit regretful ^^; Ordered the mega jug. My wife said, "How much beer are you going to drink? lol" and the kids were shocked. It's a typical situation at a new restaurant ^^; The sea urchin was fresh and delicious ~. It was cheap ~ the real deal is cheap, I thought, but there was only a small amount (T_T) They had Kikkoman's sashimi soy sauce. It was my first time seeing it. I felt like Hiroshima didn't have it. The flavor was mild. I prefer the strong and sweet taste of western Japan. So, I didn't like it. I had planned to buy it at a supermarket in Hokkaido before returning... but I ended up forgetting to buy it. Ah, it was fun. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing eating at the first place around 6:30 PM, even though I was a little full, I decided to go to another place. I intended to eat just a little, but when I looked at the menu, I couldn't help but order more. The staff noticed my Kansai dialect and started joking around with me (◔‿◔). They mentioned that previously 60% of the customers were from Kansai. It seemed like they were really happy to see me after a long time. I requested half a hokke, a Hokkai fish, but they brought a whole one as a service! I also ordered a half portion of crab miso omelet with ikura topping. The portion here was quite generous. The sweet rolled omelet had a sweet flavoring, which seems to be common in Hokkaido. The pork sagari, a famous specialty from Furano that my husband had considered ordering before, was delicious with a miso flavor and tender texture. I was able to try it in its hometown. The motsu skewers were called Bibai yakitori, which I had tried when I was in Sapporo before, so I ordered it out of nostalgia. The salty flavor and enjoyable texture were delightful. The prices may be geared towards tourists, but it was nice to try Hokkaido specialties. Thank you for the meal.

Last time I glanced at the seafood ramen for 799 yen? Steamed oysters for 699 yen? This is the second place so I came just for a drink to close the night, the prices are reversed maybe? Salty people from Hokkaido like strong saltiness, but they don't drink alcohol, so yeah? A luxurious way to end the night, a total of 1,648 yen (excluding 1,498 yen). Next time, I will challenge myself with a meal dish.

It's a past log from my first visit on September 21, 2020 (Monday, public holiday). We celebrated Respect for the Aged Day at my parents' house in Furano. There were nine of us - my wife, our child, my sister and her family, and my grandparents. The restaurant was chaotic because we came in as a group. It took an hour for all our orders to be ready (laughs). I ordered the pork bowl, which was quite delicious. Definitely a recommended dish for lunch. My grandpa was in a good mood, enjoying beer and sashimi in the afternoon. My brother-in-law also had a beer. It was a clear autumn day. Considering my parents' age, the time I can spend taking care of them as a transfer student may not be so abundant. Thinking about that, I will look back on this moment of us having fun together as a happy time. Thank you for the meal.

I also considered Kuma Gera and Yui Gadokson. However, if you want to eat a wide variety of local foods, this place is like a newly opened izakaya from last year. First of all, the oysters at Senhoji are delicious and you can get seconds. The tuna chu-toro is quite large but the size doesn't come across, it's quite a volume for 480 yen. Is it the cheapest in Japan? It sells out quickly. In addition, the local meat Jingisukan and Furano beef are highly recommended.

The tuna sashimi in the assorted sashimi was not delicious. The others were very tasty.

I visited the restaurant shortly after it opened, and now, after 2 and a half years, it has a calm atmosphere. The staff seemed a bit off, but the variety of items has improved, especially the seafood. It seems like they have found their niche. I visited without a reservation because the situation with the coronavirus had calmed down a bit... but there was nobody there, and it was very quiet. I felt bad, but I tried calling out inside the restaurant... They were probably busy with something like calculations. A man came from the register to the entrance looking annoyed. I apologized for not having a reservation. They only accepted reservations, and there were only two seats available at the counter, so I apologized again. After that, I ordered some alcohol and food, but I was given a cold look because reserved customers had priority, and I had to wait for over 20 minutes... I couldn't drink or have any snacks... It made me very uncomfortable. I'm glad they told me in advance that they couldn't provide a table without a reservation. I regret not leaving when I was told to wait every time I ordered something. I'm sorry.

When staying in Furano.

I didn't expect to eat such delicious food in Furano. Both the meat and fish dishes were excellent. This restaurant has become one of the places I want to visit again.

I was looking forward to going, but I ate something else so I won't be back for a while.

The food was decently tasty but I didn't feel comfortable at the counter seat. Also, it seemed like there weren't enough staff as the dishes took a long time to come out.
