- Visit on 12/27 - This shop has been my go-to crab restaurant since the days of Kikusui, located in the Sapporo Kani Market near the Kiyota Ward Office. Upon entering the market, the front of the shop was crowded, so I first purchased a souvenir crab bento at the Kani Kosen on the second floor. When I returned to the front of the shop, it was empty and I was greeted by the smiling sign girl. I asked, "Are the Taraba crab legs that were peeled the other day not available today?" She replied, "That was during the appreciation sale, so they were just on display." She offered to peel them for me if I had time, so I selected both thick and thin Taraba crab legs. While waiting, I remembered the Hokkai shrimp and asked the girl, "Do you have Hokkai shrimp?" She replied, "We have it, but we won't play rock-paper-scissors this time (laughs)." Last time I visited during the appreciation sale, I won a pack of Hokkai shrimp from a rock-paper-scissors game with the girl... I won (laughs). "Of course, I will pay for it this time (laughs)," I said as I purchased a pack. When I got home and opened the package, there was a complimentary item inside. Not only did I receive a complimentary item at the time of payment, but I also received a complimentary item... Looks like I'll be coming back in the new year. It is currently 7:24, enjoying the Taraba crab legs and Hokkai shrimp while writing this review (laughs).

The traditional New Year's Eve crab feast arrived from my mother, including hairy crabs and taraba crabs! Since I was young, eating "crab" on New Year's Eve has been a tradition. However, compared to the past, crabs have become quite expensive. It seems like it cost a total of 15,000 yen, but the hairy crabs are small, and the taraba crabs only had legs left (laughs). Last New Year's Eve, I returned from Nasu Kogen at night, so we enjoyed the crabs on New Year's Day. First, let's start with the "taraba crabs" (*´∀`)♪ It's my first time eating just the legs, but surprisingly, it has a satisfying taste. I actually love peeling crabs...even though my hands get sticky, it's fun (≧▽≦)! The meat is rich and delicious, just like crab meat should be!! The legs are also delicious, but the base is packed with meat (laughs). This calls for some sake!! After eating the taraba crabs, let's move on to the "hairy crabs" (*´∀`)♪ Be careful not to overeat them, as you might end up being taken to the hospital in an ambulance...just kidding (laughs). Let's start with the crab miso!! "Mmm, this is amazing!" It's rich and delicious!! This crab must have studied really hard, good job (≧▽≦)! If I were a crab, my body would be full of meat, but my brain would be empty (laughs). I enjoyed it deliciously this year too. Thank you for the meal, mom!
