I visited "Fuku-ryu Lapas Bungei WADACHI" in Chuo-ku, Osaka. It is located just west of Sakaisuji-Honmachi Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line, right across from the Funabashi Center Building. If you are driving, there is parking available in front of the store if space permits. I visited around 8 pm on a Wednesday and there were 9 customers already there. The stylish interior has a U-shaped counter with 14 seats, and cheerful jazz music playing in the background. The service was very polite, with the staff seeing customers off outside after they paid.
The restaurant offers three types of Lapas: "Clam Lapas, Chicken Junkie, and Rich Mentaiko Lapas." I ordered the "Special Rich Mentaiko Lapas" for 1,280 yen. I also added the "Rice Set" for 150 yen, choosing cheese as the topping. When I mixed the noodles with the sauce and took a bite, I could taste the rich buttery flavor, the slightly spicy Mentaiko sauce, the creamy chicken broth, the melting cheese, the aroma of purple onions, and the seaweed. The medium-thick noodles made from 100% Italian wheat were chewy and had a nice texture.
The toppings included low-temperature cooked pork loin, seared pork loin, soft-boiled seasoned egg, diced chashu pork, purple onions, watercress, chopped seaweed, melting cheese, and kimchi, creating a colorful and flavorful dish. Although I thought the portion of noodles was a bit small for a mixed noodle dish, I was satisfied after finishing the cheese rice at the end. The combination of the remaining Mentaiko sauce and cheese rice was simply delicious. Thank you for the meal!
