In the pleasant autumn weather, I was in Iwamizawa for food blogging. After finishing a meal at a restaurant, as I walked towards the station, I noticed a flag for "Dorayaki" with the sign "Elm - Supported Employment Type B Facility". Looking at the menu, they offered "Soft Cream, Dorayaki, Dorayaki Parfait". It seemed like besides making and selling sweets, the facility also had other work going on, with a few staff members seen working on computers or making something. A woman greeted me from behind the glass door, saying "Welcome". I bought a "Matcha Dorayaki for 270 yen" and it was handed to me in a paper bag. Taking it home, I cut it in half to find red bean paste, matcha cream, and matcha jelly inside. The soft and slightly sweet outer layer paired well with the slightly bitter matcha cream and the jelly added a nice texture. The sweetness was subtle, making it a dessert suitable for adults. The quality of the dorayaki was quite high and I enjoyed it. If I ever visit Iwamizawa again, I would definitely want to try a few more varieties. Thank you for the delicious treat.
