【Completely Smoke-Free】Inside the MaxValu store located along the main road connecting the central area of Kitahiroshima City to Oomagari, there is a ramen restaurant tenant. Perhaps due to the nearby university, they offer large and mega-sized menu options! The location of MaxValu Kitahiroshima store is along Route 1080 (Omagari Line), about 600m from the JR Chitose Line towards Oomagari. The system is to buy food tickets at the vending machine.
On April 3, 2023, at 1:30 pm, I revisited this place, which is truly appreciated by me. It serves as a safety valve for me when cycling around Kitahiroshima, Eniwa, and Chitose. This supermarket tenant operates without regular holidays, so this restaurant is always open. Moreover, the food is delicious. They offer self-service water and generous portion sizes. On this day, after some events, we ended up having lunch here.
I like soy sauce, miso, fried rice, and dishes with sauce, but on this day, I decided to try the Otokomae Ramen for 930 yen. Otokomae. Even at this age, I will never be described as "cute" like Mogutan. While waiting for the food ticket, I realized that this might be the Jiro-style ramen, which I have never tried before. It says thick noodles, so this must be the Jiro-style, I thought. Alright, I'll try this once in my life. It said it was a seafood soy sauce flavor, which I didn't pay much attention to.
The first bite - so fishy, not my favorite... The noodles are hard, I really don't like them... They are so hard that it's hard to slurp and eat. As for the fishy taste, I stopped caring about it halfway through. The cooking style of this restaurant suits me. The fishy ramen I had last year was torture until the end with the fishy bitterness. The hard noodles and the way they were cooked... I've tried several times before, but I still don't understand what's good about them. It was good that I managed to finish it until the end. The minced garlic at the bottom was tough, though, haha. Thank you for the meal.
Next time, I'll just go for the regular Ankake Keika or Fried Rice set ♬ Food preferences really vary from person to person.
