As a Kansai person, this was my first time trying Genghis Khan (Mongolian barbecue). I had heard that some people don't like the smell, so I was a little worried, but I loved it! I didn't find it strange at all, and I wondered if there are people who can't handle it?! The food at this restaurant was delicious, but I wonder if it's just this place? I'll remember this as a place that is definitely delicious, and I want to try comparing it with other restaurants! It's also great that they use charcoal grills. Thank you for the meal!

On a certain day in March 2021, after a year and a half, we visited the Genghis Khan restaurant "Hoteiya" in Nakajima-cho, Muroran City for the third time with three people! The owner of the restaurant is a classmate from school, although we went to different schools, we have mutual friends! We opted for the all-you-can-drink option and left the choice of meat to the owner since we were not very familiar with Genghis Khan cuisine, and it was a great decision! The owner carefully explained the characteristics of the meat and the best way to cook it, making the meal much more delicious and enjoyable than usual! For those who are not used to eating Genghis Khan, I recommend leaving it to the owner who is a pro! The restaurant also takes thorough measures for infection prevention, such as frequent ventilation through opening and closing windows. A very good restaurant! ☺️

This is Nakajima from Muroran. Today's restaurant is Hoteiya. It's located right in the middle of Nakajima-cho, diagonally across from Kitato Building. There aren't many yakiniku restaurants near the main stations in Muroran. I've found some delicious Genghis Khan places, but not many yakiniku places. However, this place is a Genghis Khan restaurant that also serves yakiniku, so I invited a friend who is in charge of meat in Muroran to join me. It seems like this restaurant has been around for a while, and although not many people have been there, many are aware of its existence. There are about 8 tables for 4 people each, and there is also a counter, but half of it is currently used for storing items, maybe due to COVID-19. Until 7 p.m., you can get beer for 520 yen, which becomes 220 yen! However, it will be served in a plastic cup. I opted for a regular medium-sized glass of Sapporo Black Label beer, which was good. The lamb shoulder loin was thickly sliced but tender and flavorful. There was no gamey taste. The lamb offcuts were small cuts from the shoulder loin, similar in taste and value. The frozen lamb roll set with grilled vegetables was a classic dish that had a good balance of flavor. The beef mino with salt sauce was a bit pricey for its taste. The beef liver marinated in sauce was thick and had a crispy edge. The Tokachi beef hormone was well-prepared with no gamey taste and a good amount of fat. I recommend this dish. The kimchi was well-soaked and a good palate cleanser. Overall, the experience was good, but I would recommend focusing on the Genghis Khan dishes here. The beef dishes were tasty but a bit on the expensive side. Thank you for the meal.

I had planned to go to a certain izakaya, but it was fully booked so we decided to try this place on a whim. It seemed like a coffee shop from the end of the Showa era, with a unique layout. Apart from us, there was only one group of customers. I'm not from Hokkaido, so I don't have much experience with judging the taste of Genghis Khan (grilled mutton), but it was surprisingly delicious and reasonably priced. I felt like I got a good deal. I'm sorry for not having any photos, which reflects my low expectations, but it was really tasty! It's a bit strange that there are so few reviews.

The other day, I visited a famous local restaurant called "Futouya" in Muroran City with some former colleagues. This restaurant is known for its delicious Genghis Khan (grilled lamb) dishes. You can enjoy extremely tender raw lamb shoulder Genghis Khan grilled on a charcoal brazier and perforated pot. The price is a bit high at around 5,000 yen for a 120-minute all-you-can-drink course, but the quality of the meat justifies it. One interesting thing about this restaurant is that they serve beer in paper plates and plastic cups due to the small space. It might be surprising for first-time visitors. We ordered the B course, which included a variety of vegetables, raw lamb, beef ribs, and hormone mix. Although it wasn't all-you-can-eat, we were served enough meat to fill our stomachs. The highlight was definitely the raw lamb, which was incredibly delicious. I couldn't eat much by the time the hormone mix arrived, as I was already full. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, and I look forward to trying the A course next time, which includes all-you-can-eat raw lamb shoulder meat. Thank you for the meal. Climb the stairs to the second floor where the entrance is located. You can leave your coat there, so you don't have to worry about the smell transferring to it. When you enter, you might be a little surprised. It feels like a large living room in a private home with tables lined up, in a casual atmosphere. They use charcoal grills here. The prices per dish are not high. The portions are small, but it's affordable and allows you to taste a variety of dishes. However, there were quite a few items that were out of stock (lol). It may have just been that day, but when we ordered, there were a few things missing. Since we were the only customers there, it might have been due to a delay in deliveries. But the menu itself is very extensive. I remember seeing all four parts of a cow's stomach listed. They also had dishes like chopped pig's feet. Personally, I liked that the price of a glass of wine was reasonable, and the quality was not bad either. (There are some places that charge 500 yen for a glass even if it's not good, but here it's 350 yen!) I think it's probably from Spain, but it's good. Maybe it's not more popular because of the atmosphere of the restaurant?
